Oof I dunno about in dubs. It's more accurate sure, but I just can't get used to hearing native English speakers saying them. Maybe if they taught them how to pronounce Japanese to begin with, without curving their lips as you do in English (and practice those hard r's), and emphasizing the right tonic syllable. I mean they already regularly fuck up pronunciation of names , so that's not helping. At least Spanish dubbing doesn't have the first problem as our pronunciation is already almost identical to Japanese, but they still have the second problem (looking at you, "MiKAsa"). But really, I think with dubs it's just always gonna be a catch 22. Either lose contextual information or be cringe. Difficult job.

I was wondering if there was anything deeper in this line. The thawing under the snow type of thing reminds me of Emilia and her frozen family. The thawing of the snow is apparently something Roswaal can do after she ascends to the throne, but also iirc something to do with Pandora's gate? Thematically it means that Subaru will reveal himself (the connection to Flugel?) once Emilia's family is thawed. Character-wise, I'm half reading it as a jab at Emilia, but I wonder what the significance of the flower is. キャスト陣の視点から見ると、スバルが記憶を失った途端に完璧なプリンス・チャーミング化してるの、個人的にすごく面白いんだよな。まずラムの壁ドンを逆にやり返すし、次にジュリアスに「メィリィの父親になる」って言い放つし。あと冒頭で泣いてたシーンも、エミリアにとっては感情の正直さとか弱さを見せるのが愛の言語みたいなもんだから、あれもチャーミングポイントとして数えていいと思うわ。考察くん
