He wasn't even fully conscious and he still brought everyone together! Brought out Elizabetta's beautiful badass! It was that effective! I can’t believe Purson’s mother embarrassed him to death at the school gates like that. F for our poor boy! The best part is she also destroyed any mystique Purson's father has by just revealing how much he adores/needs his wife in the process. For all his talk about neutrality and passivity, he's basically a wife guy.

This blubbering, pudgy mess, with but a few words, instantly slew every last tremble of doubt in the class, rallied their resolve, and lit a burning fire in their souls. Iruma is a true leader. One with complete control over his vassals, who all have complete confidence in him. A... king amongst demons, if you will.

...... what? I just said I was excited for what happens next. I made no comparisons between anime and source, just the clearly telegraphed event that the entire arc has been building up to, and that we were explicitly told will happen next episode, is one of my favorite moments of the story. That's not a comparison. If I just reworded that original post to say "The performance is one of my all time favorite parts of the story ," would that still have been struck down for being a "source material comparison?"

I've seen plenty of similar comments on this forum, and have even made a couple myself. "I love the next arc! I can't wait to see it animated!" and such. None were taken down for "building expectations which an anime-only watcher might not have on their own." It's especially silly in this case, since the entire arc this season has been building up 'expectations' for the event in question. It's a big, highly-telegraphed, moment that the show very clearly wants people to have high expectations for. It would be more surprising if the event wound up lame or mediocre.

Since Iruma's asleep, I love seeing Elizabetta stand up to Amduscias. It really makes me so excited to see their performance next episode. It was also fun watching Ameri imagine Iruma's performance and how she's featured in all of them, including as the dragon with Iruma as the Hero. Soi's mom is the best. Yeah, screw the rules! I also love how she just starts talking about her husband. Poor Soi, didn't expect to see his mom gush about his dad at school that day. 😆

Since Iruma's asleep, I love seeing Elizabetta stand up to Amduscias. Iruma still gets a little bit of a W there ‘cause it was his words that inspired Elizabetta and the whole class. He may not seem like the leadership type, but the Misfits have absolute confidence in him. Though with that said, he can’t take too much credit ‘cause he didn’t even know he was picking a fight with Poro-chan! Meanwhile it took guts for the rest of the class to stand up to him as they did. I also love how she just starts talking about her husband. Poor Soi, didn't expect to see his mom gush about his dad at school that day. F for our poor boy, he died of embarrassment so young! Fucking W for his parents, though. His father’s lucky to have a wife that adores him so much, and she herself is lucky to have a husband she’s still so smitten with!

Honestly, I was a bit looking forward to a weird Eiko show, but the performance from class A was probably better in the grand scheme of things. Also Ameri might have some fantasies, but she is so not ready for what she is going to witness. Though, I am probably not as well, because the preview showed way more than I expected. What do you mean, they are all dressing up as Lilith during the performance? I found it funny that the highest score from Poro was for a bittersweet love romance. It seems that hit a bit closer than Poro had liked even if the whole thing with Derkila is often framed as a joke. It is hilarious how he treats Kalego though.

They play Eiko for comedy so much but she's actually pretty smart and resourceful to be able to help with her class' sound and FX. And I'm sure if she knew that her class' performance is what spurred her beloved Iruma to wake up, she'd be satisfied! Ameri wishing she and Iruma were in the same class so she could be his female lead. She'll experience that vicariously through the play, I'm sure. Amduscias will hit on any attractive male of any age in his vicinity, but even he's not immune to a tragic love story. I don't think he's been the same since Derkila left him (though Derkila giving him a kabedon probably did happen, just maybe not as romantically as Poro thought).

Poro-chan absolutely stole this episode. His VA's delivery and comedic timing is spectacular. And then him jusf carrying Kalego away again was the icing on the cake. The class didn't even react. Kalego just regularly finds himself in the most undignified positions lol. But man, what about that moment when Iruma changed the class' sound to confidence with just one drugged-up statement? I think Poro suddenly saw a similarity between Iruma and Delkira. People who can change the hearts of demons in an instant. Purson's mom is fucking winner lol. Purson and his dad are both lucky to have her.

This episode really solidify that iruma is in fact the leader of the group just one word of him is all that need I never read manga but I can't wait for the moment that sabnock Realize that he no longer want to be a demon king but iruma follower instead I know this will definitely happen at some point And Purson mom is not what I expected at all and his dad yeah he definitely hiding and listening to all the conversation between his son and wife can't to see the interaction between him and his son after the show

I get to not be half a day late for once! I can’t believe Kalego actually said “Poro-chan-sama”. Hahahaha tbf, he’s not normally this fluffy. Oh neat, Urara’s here. Oh, Ameri. Class A’s dramatic reading was pretty cool. Amduscias is a tough judge to crack, huh. Mixing classical music with rock music is so fucking cool. Purson’s mom… Baby Purson! His mom had a “sore demo”! She has a point… Class B’s drama was also pretty cool. I quite liked the part where the students used Cherusil to transform the dragon character into an actual dragon, cool application of a spell we’ve seen the students learn before. Let’s go!

I wonder if Ronove will get some sort of recognition for how good these performances have been, they all have a strong intensity to them. Maybe because they're given to us in short bursts since Misfit Class needs to get the full attention, but I thought the other classes wouldn't have stood out as much they have here. Poor Kalego carried like a sack of potatoes by Amduscias. I like that the anxiety of everyone in the class was wiped away the moment Iruma spoke with confidence, I really hope they have a great performance and that Purson will make the decision he won't regret. It was amusing to see his mother gush about his father in front of him though.

The whole Royal One scene is great. Irumablob completely undercutting Poro-chan-sama's hater game, Sabnock getting picked up like a toy, Kalego being manhandled even more, Elizabetta standing up to Poro('s waist), and Iruma instantly quelling the Misfit's concerns with a few drugged up words of confidence. All that was missing was a smirk from Kalego when he barbed Iruma about picking a fight later. Dang, they really went all out for the other classes, especially Class A, and Class B makes me wonder if something's being seeded for a future arc. Very stoked for Lilith's Carpet now. Ameri's fantasies can't be stopped, she'll picture herself with Iruma even if she has to be the dragon. I don't think she could survive being in a performance together with him right now. Also Mei Mei rocking out, lol. Purson's lucky the whole school is in the performance hall, or they would have seen him really off his stealth game like his mom did. She's great too, very into the family business (and her husband), but more concerned with making sure Purson figures out what he actually wants, rather than what's expected of him.

How is this season so damned amazing?! Every episode has been unbelievably satisfying to watch so far. I love how everyone was anxious, as you would before a big performance, yet a single simple line of assurance from a temporarily high Iruma was enough to calm everybody down and fire them up to give it their all. He really is the leader of the class. His words carry that much weight. The second performance was fire! It was such a good accompaniment to one another. And yet, from the small bits we got with the third, I was actually moved. That final goodbye... man... Then we have Purson getting traumatized form his mother being all lovey dovey about his dad at the school entrance. I like his mom. She's always there supporting him. I can't wait for next week!

Sorry Poro-chan, Iruma is on a drug trip at the moment. Hero Iruma seducing Dragon Ameri, I love her imagination. That really was a quite dramatic reading by Orobas, and his class even got some good advice from Poro-chan. The music battle was pretty good too, I like the focus on some of these side demons. Purson's mom is the greatest, ever since we saw her teaching him how to play trumpet in the sukima a few episodes back I had a feeling she'd be fun. That dragon and princess play was neat, nice to see Haruno get that much of a role. I can't wait for the big Misfit performance next week.

Disclaimer: I've read the manga. Cold open is just the end of last episode. Yes, Iruma is very impressive. He also wants to eat those butterflies. Oh, so that's why the door is so tall. "Poro-chan-sama". Aw, they left our Clara calling Iruma "larva-chi". Poro I'm not sure you're a reliable narrator Iruma is very squishy. Poro is an ohoho? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Poro no he's a teenager. He's soft and squishy and small and currently totally out of it, but Iruma commands absolute confidence. If he says Purson will be here, then Purson will be here. Poro you're still holding Kalego. Oh, hey, Urara made it this time! And Ameri is here! And her imagination is running wild as usual. Of course the Misfits go last. That's what you save the best for. Oh, hey, it's Orobas! Demon prince trained in martial arts by the fairies. This show would be pretty rad, actually. I think Orobas plight have a good chance... ...of coming second again! Poro is clearly the mean British judge of this panel. Harsh but fair. He's certainly very observant, if nothing else. Ronove may be an idiot, but his musical advice was solid and practical. This sounds great. Oh, Kyupa's a fox girl, somehow I hadn't noticed that before. Meanwhile, outside in the courtyard... Poor Soisoi trying to make up his mind. ...huh, I think that's the only time we've seen Purson's mom appear in smoke like that. I think that might be an animation error, as I think she's only a Purson by marriage and doesn't actually have their bloodline ability. I might be wrong, though. Aw, Purson's mom is supportive after all And she makes a good point about the subjective nature of neutrality. That's right, Purson. Your parents are in love with each other. Also note that Purson's father can't skip. He didn't get all his genes from his mom. So, yeah. We may have jumped to some conclusions about Purson's family. They have their flaws, especially his dad, but they genuinely love and support him. This class was going to do yuri, where is the yuri? Maybe it still is a female dragon, I dunno. Very impressive visual effects, but honestly this has been the weakest musical performance so far. Poro disagrees with me. Oh, hey, that's the season theme. Iruma locking the fuck in for next episode. Sukima! You know you two can do it together, right?

Think this is more of an adaptation problem where they chose to make the two more story-based performances (Class A and B) have less singing or music maybe due to limitations or constraints and wanting to focus on making the Misfits performance the best it can be. When I read the manga chapters for this arc, I definitely imagined them singing the lines instead of just narration, especially with Class A's performance.

Poro-chan-sama is back in the Royal One his old stomping ground and love next with Derkila! With Kalego in his arms whether he wants it or not (and he does NOT!) where he's faced with all these uppity brats and the most uppity brat of all who is ruining his love nests atmosphere...Iruma! Who is in a daze and thinks he can eat butterflies! What a way to meet your new competitive nemesis! The Misfit Class have the odds stacked against them, Amduscias is biased against them and looking to fail them, and he might also steal Sabro's virtue if he's not careful! But even as he's blissfully sleepy, Iruma believes Purson, and the class, can win this! And Elizabetta even stands up to Poro-chan (as if she couldn't get any hotter)! He has to respect that, if nothing else! Look, it's the Valac Family! Couldn't have them not show up for the music festival. And Azz's butler! And of course Ameri is looking forward to Iruma's performance while wishing she was his co-star...and also discovering she has a "Hero Iruma" fetish. First up on the stage is Orobas and Class A giving a dramatic Chinese Martial Arts Musical style retelling of Derkila's origin (I assume)! With the loudest booming voice! Complete with Eiko helping with the sound and FX! There's also an attractive white-haired girl! Ganbare Orobas! Ganbare Eiko! Your efforts managed to wake Iruma up to enjoy the show! So this is really just Demon American Idol with Poro-chan as Simon Cowell and being the toughest judge...but his critiques are fair and he acknowledges their efforts. Ah yes, Class C came together...in how much they want to compete and fight over who has the better musical style. I mean, that's one way of showing their deepening friendship. If anyone was able to give Purson the final push he needs, it would be his mom who helped put him on the path of the trumpet in the first place. Yes, he has the potential to be a great leader for the Purson clan, but as his mother, she's willing to support whatever Purson chooses. I mean, what does neutrality even mean? We're talking about a family where the wife loves her husband to bits and despite what you would expect he can't function without his wife. Dang, we only saw that Class B play for like two minutes and even I'm getting misty-eyed at the bittersweet romance of an immortal dragon and a noble girl (give Haruno her Oscar!). Even Amduscias has to acknowledge it was pretty good (by his standards)! But it's nearly time for the Misfit Class to take the stage and show everyone the best was saved for last! And Elizabetta is about to turn up the sexiness to a 11! Sukima! Azz and Clara couldn't wake Iruma up but they COULD enjoy how cute he is and fight over him!

Amduscias may be a prick but I like how he decided to give a fair chance to the Misfits. And I feel you, Kalego. Class A performance was a bit lackluster since it was a reading, but they still got 543 points. Class C really had some banger, I really like the fusion of classic and rock music and that doesn't get appreciated enough! I wish the presentation lasted longer. Purson Soi's mom is cool af. She really knows whats up and showed how supportive she is. Class B theater was really something else, too bad we couldn't see the whole thing. Even Amduscias got moved a little. Anyway, show time!
