Last time we had the Boku Alliance, NOW WE HAVE THE LOVE TRIO! If you need any proof that Azz really does love Clara, he got really nervous and weirded out when he realised she wasn't going to be hanging out with them. Despite how he talks about and to her, he really does want her around as much as he does Iruma. If something was to happen for her, he'd use every breath and risk his life for her just like if something was to happeo to Iruma.

I think that also speaks to how when you've been a hardcore trio for four seasons it can feel weird to do something alone with one half of that trio. It can be nerve-wracking for how different or "new" it feels. Of course he also can't be left alone with Clara if he doesn't want to go on crazy Valac playtime adventures without a buddy lol.

I have always dreamt of having a "buying clothes" friend-date like this... It only happened once, and my friends said "never again" cause they were all tired after a couple hours, and I was still "let's go there next!" 😆 One of them was even a girl. That's the day I stopped believing stereotypes. 😛 (I still have the clothes I bought back then. They are stylish, but gosh were they NOT confortable... but I still treasure them. Q_Q )

I know I shouldn't ask things like this anymore with some of the freaky demons around, but did one girl really say she wanted to be Iruma's sweat? I guess, it makes sense considering Iruma and Azz together are so hot. Literally. But hey, for as hardcore as Eiko is, she is only ever taking pictures. At lot of pictures, but still just pictures. I think it is kind of funny that the only solution to Azz being overprotective of Iruma is by them going on a date. And they even became more than just friends. Honestly, I kind of forgot that the demons didn't know the concept of friends so Azz being so blown away by this new concept of "best friends" was more hilarious than it should have been. And once again, it is proven that not even Azz can withstand longer exposure to high dosis of Clara. He was already defeated just thinking of having to go alone with her. Also Clara completely bottling the whole "You want something to eat? Or a bath?" in the preview was fittingly funny as well.

Truly cementing their status as more than friends, but less than lovers. Also Clara completely bottling the whole "You want something to eat? Or a bath?" in the preview was fittingly funny as well. I love how when she was about to do the (usually seductive) "and me?" part she just went off the rails and kept getting more excessively goofy with it in true Clara fashion.

From what I HEARD, that word meant something like very close to you or very dear to you, I THINK it doesn't have an exact english translation so the translators PROBABLY have to take the overall sentence and meaning to use the right word, in this case, it's "bestfriends" But the popular fan translators of the manga used the word "soulmate," which meant something similar, "soulmate" doesn't necessarily mean romance too

The last scene before the credits was so heartwarming, I'm happy for Azz that he's finally learned that Iruma sees him as a best friend. His reaction in the scene after the credits was so funny though, he's high off the value of his connection with Iruma lol. I wonder how long it took him to finally come down.  Poor Iruma deprived Clara, I'm glad she finally found an opening and helped Iruma and Azz spend time together alone. The Triple Love Squad's bond is so strong. I am curious when Iruma will open up to the both of them that he is human.

Not the Bland Names 😭😭 Is the clerk one of us? 👀🏳️‍🌈 I will now crack headcanon that Tamon and his hot brother are somehow descended from the Asmodeus family. Can we get any higher?! And they were best friends! 😤 Omigodz, they were best friends 😏 I headcanon Azz is a-spec (so some flavor of aromantic, asexual, and agender), so my queerplatonic ship is winning. We get a lot of friendships in anime and manga, and fans will interpret strong friendships as platonic soulmates, but it’s nice when the series says “and they were platonic soulmates”. And I can’t think of many series that do. But I guess the EN didn’t do that and went for a “best friends” route. And in Pride Month too 😭 Androgyny suits Iruma and I love that for him. Granted, I feel like a lot of kid characters can fit androgyny. I don’t think I’ve seen a visibly older and does not like they’re in their 20s/early 30s androgynous character before 🤔 Azz really gotta tell somebody that Kirio is on the prowl. Part of me is curious if you sicked Clara at 100% chaos power on Kirio, would Kirio survive? Ultra-Chaos Clara feels like an unstoppable force.

I'm so happy for my precious fictional anime son. ...alright, translators, moment of truth. Iruma's about to give Azz a promotion, but it's a word we don't have an exact translation for, either. So what's it gonna they went with "best friends" goddamnit So, yeah, the actual Japanese word Iruma uses her is "shinyuu", which we do not have an exact translation for in English. We do have shinyuu sometimes, and we do indeed call our shinyuu our best friends, but there's a missing nuance to it. If you see Iruma-kun fans call Iruma and Azz (Platonic) "soulmates", that's also a translation of shinyuu. The best translation I can think of is honestly something like "queerplatonic partner", but obviously that's a mouthful. Anyway, that's why Azz cannot extrapolate the meaning of "best friends" from "friends". Shinyuu is not a simple modification of tomodachi. Sukima! Clara is scary. Demon of the Week: Amy I probably should have done this last week, but forgot. Yes, Amy is a traditional demon. Haha, during the recap I was thinking to myself that Iruma really shot through those first five ranks in his first of six years at school, creating a conundrum for later, so that was great to see Iruma being anxious about it too. Do you suppose Momonoki was more annoyed with Azz or Clara? Clara putting on her big sister mode to help Iruma help Azz was great. I also just noticed her winter uniform footwear, alternate modes for Connor and Murf, or new foot friends? Fun little shopping not-date, Iruma in a witch hat's just making me look forward to Ichi getting adapted. Su-ki-ma that's a nope on the swamp swimming from me.

Rich kid Azz barely able to comprehend a clothing store not having all of the designer brands he expects. He looked pretty good in the various outfits he tried on though, maybe it's good to slum every once in a while. Carefully defining the trio as a set of best friends with an older sister in Clara, good news for Ameri. The yakiniku bit was great, if you're going to be surrounded by a fire shield all day long then you might as well get some grilling done.

Alice being overprotective revealed a stalker's concerning desires... Clara is so amazing. She's so sweet and caring. She genuinely treasures what the 3 of them have, and held herself back for Alice's sake. It was nice to see the 2 of them just hang out and essentially be regular teenagers. I think Iruma needed it a lot too. I really want to see what the other 1-on-1 hangouts would be like! Oh, also, if Iruma suffered from any of the 7 sins, it'd be gluttony. For the sake of food, his math skills instantly went into overdrive. lol

I've always thought that the 7 sins were overly repetitive, and that they could ALL be defined a slightly specialized versions of greed. Greed -> Insatiable desire Lust -> Insatiable desire for pleasure Gluttony -> Insatiable desire for food Sloth -> Insatiable desire for rest and inaction Wrath -> Insatiable desire for violence and power over others Envy -> Insatiable desire for what others have Pride -> Insatiable desire for validation and self-appreciation. Yeah, I know that ussually greed is "Insatiable desire [for material gains]"... but here they clearly use that simplified definition I gave above. 😆

TL;DR (no, seriously, sorry for that novel-lenght post) I think they can pretty much all be turned into a positive, and we see it a bit with (almost) all of teh misfits. Long version: Funnily, I have been a big fan of Pathfinder, a Tabletop RPG like D&D, and in their setting, there's an ancient civilization that was following a philosophy of virtues that grant rewards, later corrupted into vices. Generosity granted Wealth (giving to the people make them more willing to give back), corrupted into Greed. Zeal granted Well Deserved Rest (working hard put your mind at ease when come to rest), corrupted into Sloth. Charity granted Eager Striving (helping your people grow helps you to grow yourself), corrupted into Envy. Love granted Fertility (a loving society filled with cooperation promote population growth), corrupted into Lust. Humility granted Honest Pride (by being humble, people tend to praise you sincerly), corrupted into Pride. Kindness granted Righteous Anger (by wanting to make everyone happy, you will be moved to act to defend them from harm), corrupted into Wrath. Temperance granted Abundance (by not over-consuming, you'll have more for longer), corrupted into Gluttony. Some were a bit forced (Honest Pride and Righteous Anger), but I still like the concept very much, and this does put a "positive spin" on all the "vices". 😆 Now that I think of it, you kinda see it a bit in the other misfits too... Agares is kinda Sloth, but recently fit more "Well Deserved Rest", Azz is definetely "Righteous Anger", Crocell is "Pride", and helped the other misfits to cultivate their own pride to push them to grow, Elizabetta is definitely Love... Heck, Purson was humility to the extreme, and won the admiration of everyone, giving him a lot of "honest pride". Waiit, even Jazz, a thief is kinda "envy", but he act liek a "big brother" a lot, helping others grow with his support... I could go on (except for Kamui, he's really just pure negative lust...)

Iruma is back at school and Azz is...watching him like a hawk and keeping a massive flaming barrier surrounding him! Anything to keep him safe from anything, especially certain bespectaled nutjobs who Iruma is SURE could never come back! Poor Clara has turned into a feral cat hovering around the flames because she can't get to Iruma. Momonoki: "This perturbs me very much." "I want to be his sweat" - You would fit right in with the Kirio Fan Club, Eiko! Clara FINALLY gets Iruma to herself (as Azz is busy researching Primal Demons with Balam) and clings to him and nuzzles against his body for dear life! But they're the Triple Love Squad (which is a throuple name if ever I've heard one), so Clara is willing to be the Big Sister and give Azz the time he needs to get this super closeness with Iruma out of his system so they can go back to being a trio and Clara can have both boys to herself! How very mature and reasonable of her! And what better way to spend time with Azz than a shopping date? Complete with visiting a clothing store and getting a double fashion show with Iruma and Azz as he gets to experience an actual affordable clothing store for normies for once! And they get into all kinds of other fun. Iruma is feeling the weight of being ranked He, but with Azz and Clara by his side he knows he can overcome anything, and Azz realizes the most important thing is he stays true to his faith and loyalty in Iruma as he eventually ascends to the status of Demon Lord! And as Azz renews his absolute loyalty to Iruma, Iruma upgrades them from "friends" to "best friends!" More than friends, but less than lovers, yet just enough for Azz as he ascends to the skies in joy! Su-ki-ma! Yeah, I feel like you need to bring a friend to experience any Valac Family playtime instead of just doing it yourself. Next week: Lead plots to flirt with Elizabetta! And the girls reconvene for Girl Talk!
