魔入りました！入間くん 第4シリーズ

This was one of the warmest and nicest birthday parties I’ve ever seen. While somehow also seeming perfectly suited (with its ritual oddities) for devils/demons. Like a great little thematic encapsulation of the show itself, which always finds a way to make the devils seem still like devils just really nice ones. Especially liked the strange circling with flaming cups part and how they made even that feel inherently positive while also looking very spooky.

Frankly, a small birthday party would have likely been better than anything his biological family ever did in 14 years 'cause I don't believe for a second they threw a single one for him. But on top of this already being a grand celebration in of itself, demon culture goes hard celebrating birthdays. They celebrate the fact that you're alive, they show gratitude for your very life, they thank you for being born .

So, several had their birthdays already, including Asmodeus and Clara. Why wasn't Iruma invited to their ritual? Also, remind me if you will, is it publicly known that Sullivan adopted Iruma? Otherwise, how would this doting grandparent not know his grandson's birthday? Also, Elizabetta was very chummy with Ameri, calling her Ame-chan. Were they shown as being close before? Especially with the grade difference? Or was it at any point implied Elizabetta is older than the rest of the class, maybe held down a couple of years so she's actually the same age as Ameri? That may explain her towering size as well.

So, several had their birthdays already, including Asmodeus and Clara. Why wasn't Iruma invited to their ritual? Demons don't hold Demonic Rites every year. Lied and Jazz mentioned they each had one when they were 6, which isn't something you say if you have one every year. So likely no-one in his class had simply had a Demonic Rite this year for him to be invited to. Also, remind me if you will, is it publicly known that Sullivan adopted Iruma? It's not exactly stated but I think it's safe to assume everyone at least thinks so. Sullivan has told people he used a life hack to get a grandson despite having no children of his own and Iruma's classmates have picked up that he's come from somewhere else due to his lack of what they'd consider basic cultural knowledge (e.g. devidols) and his lingo that they've never heard of before (e.g. friends). They just assume he came from a different part of the Netherworld. Also, Elizabetta was very chummy with Ameri, calling her Ame-chan. Were they shown as being close before? Yes, back in season 2 Ameri was invited to a girl's group with Liz, Kerori and Clara where they all became a close group. They even hung out again during the Walter Park arc.

Okay, the first half of the episode was interesting, even if Balam's obsession can be a bit weird. But the second half was just way too funny. I was already going to write how Kalego seemingly got the notice about Iruma's birthday as well and as expected have zero fucks about it. Just for him to be forcefully summoned. Who is going to take care of the cacti? Ever thought of that Opera? Though, him having to present a rose was funny, so I let that slide. Iruma still has a long way until he gets one of these cacti as a present. The presents themselves were also fun, but I will say that Ameri's was the best imo. Just because it was one that really fit Iruma who just likes to eat. So a big cookie fits perfectly. Not that the others were bad by any means mind you. Then we have Camui sliding out of the picture when everyone tells their birthday only to take notes when the girls say theirs. And lastly, we got the information that Eiko went on a training arc to be able to look at Iruma again. Just for her to miss the birthday party. Kind of funny that Azz respects her as an Iruma fanatic. Edit: Also how could I forget baby Kalego? I agree with the boys that is exactly how he was back then.

The presents themselves were also fun, but I will say that Ameri's was the best imo. Just because it was one that really fit Iruma who just likes to eat. So a big cookie fits perfectly. Not that the others were bad by any means mind you. A lot of them were giving Iruma their own interests but Ameri gave him something that not only would he like, but also represents one of their bonding activities (that time they decided to bake cookies together).

What do I care about Iruma's birthday? You won't catch me there under any----" (gets summoned as a familiar) And lastly, we got the information that Eiko went on a training arc to be able to look at Iruma again. Just for her to miss the birthday party. Kind of funny that Azz respects her as an Iruma fanatic. Sacrificing time with Iruma just to be able to be around Iruma. Eiko suffers for her love! Ganbare, Eiko!

The look Ameri gives those who make Iruma cry is equal parts precious and terrifying. Poor Lied was about to get his soul taken from him lmao Ameri doesn't really interact with Iruma's friend group that much outside those moments she's had with Clara and the girls night out but if harm should come to Iruma she joins up with Azz and Clara in a desire for vengeance as naturally as she breathes. I love the song they were singing in the background for the second round of presents so much. Just pure warm appreciation and Hawehyas. This show hasn't met a moment that isn't benefitted from a fun vocal track.

Hawehya Iruma! Such a wholesome and sweet episode, it's really heartwarming to see how loving the entire class is. I'm glad this was an Iruma appreciation episode, but I'm sure he's going to go further than all of them to show his gratitude on their respective birthdays.  I like how Camui was completely uninterested in the guys' birthdays, he only took down the girls'.  Clara, Lead and Purson all hugging because Iruma was so happy was so freaking sweet, and very relatable. Purson was a bit of a surprise, but I like how he really fits in with the class.  The first half with Balam and Iruma was amusing to me when Balam lifts Iruma like a little child lol. Even the way Iruma laid on top of his chest was reminiscent of that, so I found it very endearing. I did like learning about Balam's curiousity as a child and how he got that scar.

This birthday demonic ritual chanting is giving me James Gunn’ Scooby Doo “This is what we creatures say” vibes. But the entire event—I can’t be loud because everyone’s still knocked out over here, but * keyboard smash * I’m crying. This makes me hope the day Iruma tells his friends he’s human, we get a callback to this where they truly meant “thank you for being born”. Cannot wait to use the Mean Girls meme twice in a row this year. October 3rd (obviously) and on October 4th, just make it about Iruma instead. Me smiling that my Opera/Kalego/Balam ship is here. I want to see Balam put Kalego in that position he put Iruma. Please. Happy Pride to Prof Kalego, Prof Balam, and Opera specifically 🏳️‍🌈 Eliza and Ame’s friendship feels underrated. I’d love to see them do more things together. I wanna see Baby!Kalego and Baby!Opera’s backstories. It would be funny if Kalego was born a sweet baby and then became an alt/goth kid in a family of preppies (relate).

Disclaimer: I've read the manga. Alright, last week we had the most romantic episode, now it's time for the most wholesome episode! Oh, hey, Balam, we haven't seen him in a while. Tiny Balam! Weird that his parents' faces are obscured. I'm sure it's not important. Still the same OP, that's a bit disappointing, this half of the season will obviously not be about the Music Festival. "Exorcibration" is certainly a translation.p Baby Balam, with his whole jaw! Oh no that's his whole jaw Tiny scientist Balam. Yeah, let's break into the "no trespassing" area, that's a good idea. Oh no! Genuinely, oh no, poor baby. And that's how he got his scar! Also, wow, "that was the first time I thought a living creature was beautiful". Absolutely unhinged. Iruma is a good boy. "I want to frighten you more and more." Even more unhinged. Emergency! Emergency! We missed Iruma's birthday! I mean, it's not their fault, he never told them. Because of course he wouldn't, there's no way his birthday was ever a pleasant or important time for him before. Opera is this a kidnapping A demonic ritual, huh? It's probably fine. Lied lives in a relatively ordinary apartment block and his last birthday party was in an abandoned house when he was six. It's hard not to think he's not as rich or aristocratic as a lot of Babyls students. Yes, give Iruma all the presents. Hawehya! ...okay, seriously, Kalego? You deserve it this time. I love that the Sullivan housecats are helping. Aw, this is so sweet. Nice of the Valacs for the whole family to pitch in. That cookie will not survive the night. They all pretty much got things that reflect their own personalities. Little bat-like butterflies. Batterflies? God this is too damn wholesome. Lied is the twin who was born first. Iruma is the more mature twin. Azz is just jealous he didn't make it into the group hug. "Undecember" is an interesting translation for the thirteenth month. Also, the Netherworld has thirteen months. Somebody mop up Sullivan. This is some serious music for blowing out the candles on your birthday cake. 😊 Sukima! Eiko training under the waterfall.

Baby Balam! He’s so cute haha. Uh-oh, he trespassed… Yeah that’s what I thought. Haha, nice. Guess I can add Iruma to the list of “shounen MCs with a birthday in October”. …oh, they missed Iruma’s birthday. Oh lol everyone found out at the same time I guess. Apparently this is how they celebrate birthdays in the netherworld, huh. I wonder what it is… Pfffffffffffff Grand Blue moment. omg it’s perfect. Lead’s still on that? Awwwwwwwwwwww he’s so happy he’s crying… lol Incredible image.

Smol Balam was adorable! And his mom was a total MILF! But his backstory can prove to be yet another teachable moment for Iruma! When he was a kid Balam was just as fascinated with the world of living creatures, to the point of obsessing over it and not listening to when his mom would scold him about going too far with it...and lo and behold he goes into a restricted area and gets kidnapped by Horned Heron's. Horned Heron's who also gave him the scar to his face after he tried to eat one of their eggs. Ouch. But what did Balam learn from this? That you can't truly observe life until you RESPECT life like how his parents and that Horned Heron both worked to protect their young, and as such Balam continued to observe animals...but more respectfully! Just as he and Iruma continue to respect each other as they learn more about each other over time. A truly wholesome cultural exchange! Oh no! They missed Iruma's birthday! This is a defcon red moment! We've got to get everyone in the Iruma Group Chat together! Including Kalego as his familiar! Imagine getting whisked away by your family to some demonic ritual...but it's actually your birthday Excorbitation! Or celebration! Complete with all your friends, Kalego forcibly summoned as your familiar, and tons of cosplay! Medusa Elizabetta! Ameri in pants! Keroli as a fox! Sabrolion! Frog Clara! It's perfect! This is an event where everyone gets to give their thanks and gratitude to Iruma for all they've done for him and for being born! They even throw in the fire of their own spirit to Iruma before they give him some gifts! All of which are VERY in-character for the characters involved which makes them all the more meaningful. I especially like how the whole Valac Clan contributed. Here's everyones' official birthdays for you fans out there! But this is probably the first time Iruma has ever, truly, had his birth celebrated by loved ones and that means everything. Just like having the Iruma Squad gang up on poor Lead thinking he'd made Iruma cry was well-intentioned. He's got a loving family, loyal friends, devoted love interests, and a begrudging Familiar...what more could a boy ask for? Especially when they all get a group photo together! Haweha!!!! Ha! Weh! Ha! I'm glad Azz let Eiko in on everything even if the poor girl is going to have to reckon with the fact that she missed Iruma's birthday AND was out of range to learn about his Excorbation because of her training arc to handle Iruma as a He-ranked demon. Poor Eiko! Next week: Where the teachers' live! And the girls get together with a new member!
