no there isn't, the rules for it are * creating a new magic, * being chosen to ascend the tower by one of the factions * doing it the old fashioned work your butt off way (getting 7200 credits) That is part of Lihanna and Wingall's inferiority complexes that they are leftovers that were never chosen. Wingall's lack of ascension was partially because of the fact he could not use ilusion magic which made him seen as a failure of an elf. Makes me laugh that the ones who weren't chosen are actually more useful because they have learned and experienced more vs the ones that ascended the tower and are useless the second magic doesn't solve the problem.

Everything up to this point in the story was secretly the prologue. The name of hte next episode is something like "The Story Begins." And Will just learned that he DOES have magic, a single spell, that turbo-charges his physical abilities. A little box that popped up towards the end claimed Will was a Mage Blade. Finally, the true bad guys have made their proper appearance and started their plan. To destroy the world by destroying the Magia Vander that protect it. School arc of "Laggard Will" that doesn't have magic? Prologue. Actual fight against the actual bad guys with the actual plot? Starts now.

Wil: What's my magic? Me: **IT'S NEVER GIVING UP!** lmao Fantastic episode. The intro before the opening is hype af. Zeo raging and Elfie shows them who's the boss by freezing the whole room. Tons of deaths has shown and the teacher who hate Wil shows a good side of him to the dwarves. While Workner become a donut and suddenly he's something that can regenerate like what? Also, Finn reminds me of Meliodas, even the height and clothes. Finale is also the best, Shion acknowledging Will and they did work together. Long white hair will is cool af! This anime is a contender for my top this season. My only complain? Why next week is still far away!?

Its really funny Finn is like "tis just a flesh wound". Bro, his heart is missing lmao One thing i like is how the unlikeable "douchebags" arent complete assholes and this episode proves that once again. Edward asking the dwarves to throw their lives away to protect everyone doesnt mean he gets to slack off. At the moment, they have more worth than him and wont hesitate to turn himself into canon fodder. Applies to Zeo too on a minor extent Will's magic being courage only sounds cheesy on paper but definitely has something more to it with all the prior foreshadowings Final battle should be lit next episode

Elfaria is such a badass. Love her. Workner scene is kinda funny to me LMAO, dude is just standing there with hole in his chest while Will is mopping on the floor not giving a fuck about him LOL. He's like "Really? I'm standing here donuted and you are talking to me about your personal problems?" And even after he "died" in his arms, Will was like, "WAIT! TELL ME MY SECRET FIRST" 😆 But now it makes sense why he went for a killing blow on the enemy instead of defending, since he knew he won't die? I honestly expected a usual edgy rage scene, but I'm really glad his power was Courage at the end, since it's much better and fitting for him. Enjoying this show a lot, but I do hope we get back to ascending tower after all of this. I want more Elfaria!

Real person or not, Rosti dying in front of Will is definitely gonna traumatize him. And just to make things worse for our boy, Workner gets inducted to the donut club. I do wonder what Finn meant when he said Workner will eventually breathe again. You mean he's still alive?! O_O So Will does have magic! His magic is to go Ultra-Instinct! But seriously tho! What did Finn do? Did his blood act as some sort of catalyst to help out Will awaken his magic? Also, that power-up is freakin' insane! There's got to be some drawbacks to Will going nova like that. I can't wait to see Will's rematch against the Devander next episode!

Will : What’s my power?  Me : don’t say courage don’t say courage don’t say courage  Will : COURAGE  Me : damn 😅  That moment was a little cringe but I mean I suppose that there’s nothing else he can say in that moment lol. Jokes aside I loved this episode. I wasn’t expecting a transformation so I was very hyped to see it. I also wasn’t expecting him to be that overpowered omg!! I can’t wait for more.

To say that this show has some terrible writing would be a massive understatement. His teacher, the one person he's always relied on, is walking towards him with a giant fucking hole in his chest while he's mopping on the floor, ignoring him. And all this absolute wankstain cares about is his secret magic power. He doesn't give a shit about his teacher dying. I get it that anime characters are obsessed with getting stronger, but no human being, real or fictional, would react like this in this situation. Leaving aside the fact that this anime is LARPing as an underdog story when it's a blatant power fantasy, I really don't care for the writing. I might end up dropping it just because of the awful MC.

Quite simply: Too many cutaways. It removes all tension from the scene when you've seen more than 1 shonen anime before, because you know that character will be fine/saved in the next scene. Hell even professor doughnut was/is fine. Starting to get Fairy Tail vibes, where no one (random npc's excluded) can die. And that is a very bad thing, if you want to set your world up as a "dangerous place".

I don't even know where to start, this episode was so intense from start to finish. Will's limiter coming off thanks to whatever Finn did and the following attack was crazy, I was not expecting Will to get that kind of power boost. He is one insanely powerful sword.  After Rosty "dying", Will really did not need Workner also dying on him, that had me in shock until Finn pointed out he'd be alive again. I wonder what's up with that, I hope we get an explanation once things have been settled. Elfaria opening her eyes after Rosty "dies" seems to be another hint that she's the one that created him.  I'm glad Will ended up awakening because we were about to see the Magia Vanders fight among themselves lol. That would have been entertaining, if the situation wasn't already so dire outside.  Edward actually sacrificing himself to protect dwarves was not what I expected, I still don't like him, but I can appreciate that he's true to his words at least. He's thinking about what is the best course of action even at the cost of his own life.  I thought it was interesting how completely unfazed Sion was when Will parried the monster's sword, it's like he expected it or knew it'd be him or something. Maybe next episode it'll continue the scene and he is surprised, but it was like there was a certain confidence there which I liked.

And the story begins. So cool. Can't wait for next episode. Even through I have a lot of questions about will magic and also curious what was done different from before like how it was different. Also what is will sword made off like it looks so ordinary but seems important or just there no other sword in the battlefield. Elfaria moments were great in this episode and made me like her a lot more than before. Can't wait for more.

Season 2 feels very different than season 1 to me. This episode in particular was a bit too much. There's not enough story to keep me gripped to what's happening. And the story that is happening is like, weird. Like the whole Workner scene and the random super saiyan power out of left field. Not enjoying this season nearly as much as the first unfortunately. And the animation has been very bad since episode 1.
