Julius was pretty much the single most capable mage out of all of them What made me curious is that the ice faction never once scouted Julius even before the Will fiasco. They say that the truly talented mages got recruited even before they graduate. Julius was mentioned to be the first mage capable of replicating Elfie's secret art (with 0 guidance), that must've taken quite a bit of talent, yet he still went under the radar for the past 6 years, never been scouted even once, even before Elfie became the magia vander I assume. Even if we assume that he just recently learnt that skill, his fundamentals should be way more than above average for him to be able to learn the ice cloning technique.

Julius replicating her spell was still very much an imitation when he showed it off in the tournament arc, and while he was talented as far as the remaining students go, he wasn't exactly impressive enough to sway the Vander. Additionally, Elfie was noted to pay little attention to people other than Will. What she saw of Julius was only arrogance, selfishness, and disregard for others; especially Will.

Elfaria be like "yeah, yeah you can join, now let my bae do his thing" I love how she went from barely acknowledging his existence to smiling so warmly at him when he joined the exclusive "true allies of Will" club. Yeah Kreutz, shut up and git good He definitely peed himself when Zeo threatened to vaporize him. And of course Elfaria gets cucked again She should've gone for a kiss while she had the chance. Animators, please dont fuck up Zeo vs Elfaria The next episode preview makes it look pretty epic if nothing else.

Sometime hard to beat source material at least for source material readers as Print and Black and white do have advantages in making somethings look cooler. Remember more than one fight where the animation and print have identical parts but fans think the print superior even though they match at that moment the print shows. In Fair Tail is was a black and white drill looks a lot cooler with the spinning motions symbols used in print while the color drill identical in shape lost impact with silver color over like brown background instead of black over white and you could tell drill spinning but animated spin not as obvious as spin indicating lines.

I think it is like they said, since Will is an anomaly they don't really know the best way to handle him. The current system, including the bloom and faction selection process, is set up to develop wands. Technically Will was supposed to be trained and developed by Finn, and was never supposed to even try to go up the tower. But he wants to be with Elfie, and Cerridwen also wanted to try developing his powers in a way that is different than what Finn was planning. Based on their conversations this season and last. So all the leaders are more open to the treatment of Will being different than the normal process since the aren't certain what the best way to develop and make use of Will's power.

Honestly, Elfie losing here would feel really bad. Will's fought - and won - countless times for her, against opponents he should really have no business beating. If Elfie can't beat another Magia Vander (someone who should be about on the same level as her) for him, she really is just a damsel-in-distress. Or I guess Will is the damsel-in-distress now, but you get the point. Not to mention after all that build up earlier in the episode, not to mention the entire series; tearing them apart now would feel like it's just for the sake of keeping them apart.

Judging from how the series went so far, I have a bad feeling that we're getting blueballed yet again . 😕 Because if it were not so, why bring up that new conflict at all after we just had multiple episodes of conflicts and trials? Just so Elfie has to prove herself as well? While I'm curious to see how a battle between two magia vander goes and also understand how much of an outlier Will is, it's still getting exhausting. If Elfie wins, they might as well just have ended with the hug and finally be done with that selection thing, so I assume Zeo will get Will for now... I just hope that Will and Elfie can at least see each other even if he's in another faction. Else I'm gonna be so mad.

I don't know, from their interactions so far, I'm getting the impression that absence has made the heart grow fonder. Will had absolutely no hesitation or embarassment when being hugged today, five years of separation got rid of all of that. (And Elfie's left any shyness in the past, she's all over him as soon as she gets the chance.) I could 100% see them going all the way on momentum, then Will being more embarassed the morning after.

Elfie would probably accept that, as long as she gets quality time with Will on demand. Doesn't matter where her husband works, as long as she gets to be where he comes home to at night. Unfortunately, there are three parties that would object to that sort of arrangement: Zeo, because fucking Zeo, and probably several other thunder faction members. Sarissa, because she just knows that Elfie would spend too much time with Will and end up behind on work... again. She'd probably come around to the idea, though. The author, because this entire series revolves around keeping Will and Elfie apart by any means necessary.

And once locked into the Tower, she was unable to leave and visit her friend stalking victim. Why? Seriously, why couldn't Elfie see Will? I can accept that scrubs aren't allowed into the Hallowed Ground of the Tower, but why couldn't Elfie go visit Will from time to time? Hell, why couldn't she help him either? Or just resign as Magia Vander if that's what it took to be with the man she loved? She's been a damsel this entire time, kept apart from Will, just for the sake of keeping them apart. Because that's the story: the Hero chasing after his "prize."

I actually like this obstacle lol, Zeo as a character is dope as hell, and before he tried to take Will, I was thinking it would be fun if Will joined the lightning faction lol. Plus, being part of lightning would probably be better for Wills development. He already knows ice magic very well. Lightning faction would add another element to his kit. And I bet Zeo can help bring wills Physicals to the next level.

with the amount of edging we're getting on their (permanent) reunion, the author better add a kiss scene at the very least. I don't have many expectations on the amount of romance focused scenes, but if we don't at least one good one eventually (even in the ending) its gonna be very unsatisfying, Even if the show is not romance, its still a very important part of it. It would be a very welcome surprise if we get more but I'm not counting on it, any intimate scene I see, I consider as a lucky bonus.

I don't understand people complaining about obstacles, it's the whole point of show and Will's character. That is what I like about this show the most. Being frustrated about dumb obstacles I do understand, but Zeo being a huge egoist and wanting a payback for sticking for Will out of everyone else not named Elfie seems like an interesting development to me. Author shouldn't have left decision to Will though. He should have just made some bidding war rule so that he can still make obstacles for them. 😆 Currently, their reunion would be lackluster and disappointing. Their true reunion needs to be much more grandiose than at the bottom of the tower. Them just being able to see each other face to face seems like satisfying step, and allows Elfie to start making bolder moves towards getting together with Will. They still have their shared dream for which both of them need to be strong to achieve, so there is still that.

yeah chasing elfie to stand by her side is the vehicle for will's progress. he still doesn't understand his power and literally just used his base ability consciously for the first time i much rather have will join the lighting faction and continue working his way towards elfie. if he joins the ice faction now some other obstacle is gonna be made up to separate them. we're still too early in will's development

If he joins the lightning faction he could become the magia vander for it at some point and literally stand beside her. It's still lame. He should be able to join her faction! Then the story could feel more like apothecary diaries or something.

I don't understand people complaining about obstacles I think it's the way it's presented and handled. It just feels like ass-pulls when Will finally overcomes the obstacle and right before he's able to celebrate any victory there's some smug asshole in the corner saying: "uhm well ackshually". And it feels like it's that over and over, consecutively, non-stop, no pause. If it were handled better I don't think there would be this much annoyance/disappointment. It's a lot of goalpost moving, omitting information just for the sake of it, and straight up 180s. It feels like a load of BS and feels really forced. Plenty of shows place obstacles in front of protagonists but they do it in reasonable ways that I think this one really doesn't do well. I will repeat again it's not about the obstacles themselves, plenty of shows use it but they present it in a clear, reasonable, and thoughtful ways. I do enjoy the show overall but damn even something like rezero didn't leave me this annoyed. I could go on about why it feels different, but I'll leave it at that.
