In a standard romcom that cockroach scene would have led to the 2 of them falling on top of eachother and leading to a "moment" before they both retract blushing with how hard Koyun was shaking Minato. But not this show. Because let's be real, stuff like that doesn't actually happen IRL (or at least it's extremely rare and you're more likely to just get hurt) Stuff like that is just a cheap trope to unnaturally force a stagnant relationship development forward. It just naturally passing and them laughing about it is so much more relatable and realistic. It's a small detail but it's one of the reasons why I really love this show and Polar Opposites Also, the way Koyun broke up with Igarashi was pretty brutal. I actually kinda feel for the guy. But it's also not like Koyun can really help that she never liked him and felt pressured to date him. All round sucky situation. Miki is right tho, no matter what Koyun would have done he would have been hurt. That's the sad reality of a one sided love

I just think there was no reason to tell him that. She could have broken off without telling him I never ever liked you. It doesn't help anything and just hurts the other person. That WAS harsh. Also, now looking back, we see that the reason Koyuki did not want Minato to talk to Igarashi is because she didn't want others to know of her past guilt. She feels guilty as we see here. Also, her feeling guilty about lashing out at Minato takes new meaning. She didn't do that to protect herself from her horrid ex, to her SHE was the horrid ex.. Her apology and overwhelming feelings makes even more sense

I think saying whatever Koyun would've done would have left Igarashi hurt downplays what she did. It's true rejecting him would've hurt but rejection is healthy and we all experience it. What Koyun actually did was cruel and I don't think that should be downplayed. Keep in mind Igarashi is just a guy who had a crush and wasn't very good at picking up social cues. Mind you I don't think Koyun is a bad person by any means, but good people can do bad things and I dont think those bad things should be hand waved away.

Koyun x Igarashi seems to be ESH territory - wasn’t there a scene where she remembers Igarashi looking down on her hobbies like reading and movies? (The one where they went to the family restaurant) They seemed to be just not right for each other and seemed to have gotten together for all the wrong reasons (though I still want to learn why Igarashi liked her in the first place) ESH but they were middle schoolers

Miki is technically right, but I don't think she realizes the potential trauma it could have caused Igarashi for his future relationships. I wouldn't expect her to either. That kind of break up is brutal, it would make him doubt all that he thought of the relationship, and doubts he'd have for future partners depending on his personality. It seems like he was able to move on from it though, so that's good.

Nah, he was literally telling Koyun how he was annoyed because someone he didn't like was trying to flirt with him. Compared to Minato who tries to be friend with everyone, it's really not the same at all. Minato has been going out with girls he had no interest in just because they confessed, REPEATEDLY. They're only similar in Koyun's impression of them. But that doesn't make them similar at all. She was mistaken, she figured that out already. She believed Minato was also someone who prioritized his own feelings when he's the exact opposite (someone who adjust himself to get along with others), and this led to misunderstandings like when she thought he tried to investigate her and learnt about her middle school story when he was just reading the mood. The whole misunderstanding stems from Minato consistently fumbling his attempts to interact with her because he's self-conscious around her, and Koyun ptsd making her associate Minato's surface-level behavior's to Igarashi (and the whole crowd at her middle school).

I mean he someone who doesn't understand emotions is now thinking these emotions are not something that you can just will them away when thinking of Yota and Miki. He says how he thought the feelings were just hurting him because he was suppressing them. He talks about how he now understands when he didn't before and it sucks. Suffice it to say he is talking about romantic feelings. Now he gets Yota's pain. So yes

Assuming Koyun was telling the truth to Miki (I see no reason to disbelieve her confession here) she thought it might be better to try to fall in love with someone who loved her, even if she didn't like him to begin with. It obviously didn't work, and given that the person who seems most afraid now is Igarashi , I suspect that Koyun broke up with him while telling him everything she disliked and hated about him. Yota was cornered, both physically and in the conversation. There's really no good way to answer at that point unless he was willing to just go for it and... yeah, given his personality, that's not gonna happen like that.

I hope Tsukiko becomes a part of the group. At least in a minor way. Her interaction with Koyun was way too funny. Damn, we nearly had a Yota confession. So close, just stop saying anything and let the one name stand for itself. Not sure if it would work, but it would at least move that part forward. I like that Miki is even more of a chaos force now that she completely shed her idol skin and just goes with the flow the whole time. Even when talking with Koyun, she seems way more open about everything. Now, if they could also just skip the misunderstanding about who loves who, that would be great. But I assume this can only happen once Koyun and Igarashi sorted things out fully. Problem is that they were both hurt and feel guilt. Like with Koyun, it's obvious, but I wouldn't be surprised if Igarashi thinks he forced Koyun into a relationship she didn't enjoy. Of course, the hard breakup line stuck with him even more, but it's clear that's not all.

I think he probably thought he was in the type of romance where you're barely subtle about your feelings and tease your crush who is the only girl you see or really care about. He just missed the fact that she was, genuinely, not that interested in him until she finally told him after they had started dating and she gave the impression she returned his feelings. So I think he probably felt betrayed on some level and I think you could tell in his reaction to her and why he was confused why she cared about how he was doing.

I agree that he might have felt betrayed which is why he is angry at her. But especially because he actually liked her, I think there is also a feeling of guilt or that he did something wrong. When he walked home himself after meeting Koyun and Miki, he didn't just seem angry at her, but he thought about her question if he had fun in highschool should be asked to her. Which implies to me that he feels at least a bit bad about what happened to her in middle school.

So that's why Koyun's wanted to avoid Igarashi, she hurt him when they were dating and feels guilty about it. Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this revelation. I do feel bad for Igarashi, but I also sympathize with her pov; Igarashi's teasing and uncomfortable approach which made it understandable why she didn't like him, the social ridicule she was subjected to from her peers, and the bullying. All that factored in, it's no wonder why she was in that headspace at the time, doesn't make her right for hurting him like, but I get it. Hopefully, she resolve this internal conflict, either by apologizing to Igarashi or by forgiving herself and moving forward.

I think mixed feelings is the name for a lot of things I feel. And the fact is the author probably wants you to feel that too. It makes sense why Koyuki did it. But it also makes sense that she feels guilty. But if you didn't know Koyuki, looking at her actions as an outsider you might have been incredible harsh. Which is what was happening with a lot of Minato opinions in the beginning. Mind you we still don't know his actual backstory in the anime.

Ehehe I was waiting for this episode for people to realize that the story is more than it seems. There are two different sides to a story, we can judge whichever side is more to blame but in reality with our interactions we carry some of the blame even though we would like to think we don't. The story does not frame either side as completely good or evil. Though many think Igarashi was a mean bf and deserved what was coming to him. At the end of the day, we are used to a lot of stories treat traumatic experiences through the lens of villain n victim. If you notice the only thing Igarashi we saw did was pat Koyuki and laugh at her being short. For someone with different life experiences that could be harmless teasing one can laugh it off. But we zoom in on Koyuki's feelings of discomfort and decide Igarashi is the villain. Igarashi did traumatize Koyuki by being a shitty BF but he wasn't some horrendous bully. The same thing happened with Minato, where seeing his actions without the dark framing or Koyuki's reactions, he would come of as an annoying dude, not some icky disgusting individual EDIT: grammar

I loved every bit of this episode. This show really is my comfort anime of this season.😭😭 Firstly I love Miki and Koyuns friendship so much, the way they look out for each other, it just warms my heart. Ive seen too many bad depiction of female friendships and seeing true girlhood makes me happy 🫶 Also I love the groups overall dynamic so much. Miki shipping Koyun and Yota while Minato dies of jealousy, while Koyun shipping Yota and Miki and believes Miki might have crush on Minato 🤣 We also learned a little bit more about their past and damn I feel bad for Igarashi. To date someone you love just tell you they didnt like you damn that hurts 😩 I want him to find his own happiness 🫶 Also Im so proud of Koyun, she started talking with the other girl as well, we can see her open up more and shes growing as a character.

In some ways I think Koyun's friendship with Art-Girl is more significant than that witn Yota and Minato. This is a connection she created all on her own -- through her own fumbling effort. Luckily Art-Girl was close enough to her in disposition that this worked. Poor Igarashi. Koyun took out her frustrations on him because he was the easiest person to blast. Koyun is right to feel bad about what she did.

We also learned a little bit more about their past and damn I feel bad for Igarashi. To date someone you love just tell you they didnt like you damn that hurts 😩 I want him to find his own happiness 🫶 There's no helping it if the girl you're interested in doesn't like you back and your advances on her are totally unwelcome and just annoying. But even if from what we've seen they were terrible together...his feelings for her seemed sincere, enough to where he probably got his hopes up that they were returned up until she told him how vehemently they were not. Koyun probably would have been better off just rejecting him rather than just making things worse for the both of them by dating him, but that's messy teen relationships for you.
