I don't think it was a lip service. I belive that they do these things for the sake of their country, family and nation so they genuely believe that it is better for them to do these things and they feel proud to be succesful for their nation while they also accept how they harmed people and it is something ethically and generally really sinful. Tolui seems like the person that wouldn't mind the others if they are on his way but loves his family a lot tied to them genuely and can do anything for them

People on winning side of war always think they're in the right. I think that's the hubris of Tolui on display. In his mind, he's a righteous bearer of his people's will, it's just that his people's (and his god's) will is oppressive. I kinda find him fascinating as a character in that sense. Like we should hate him, but this whole episode showed how easy it would be to believe he was a god among men if you were living at that time.

We could see what I assume is Boraqchin’s smile when Tolui drank the ritual water. That, paired with all the rahj al-gar poisoning, her being at odds with Sorghaghtani and Tolui, and the threat their power poses to Ögedei, makes me assume that this is part of a plan to take Tolui out of the picture, especially with the bad feeling Sorghaghtani had. I imagine the plan is to poison Ögedei, cure him, and then lace the ritual water with poison so that when Tolui drinks it, it will look like the ritual really worked. I wonder how the allegation that Töregene poisoned Ögedei will play out, since they didn’t address it any further before the ritual.

My guess is Boraqchin set it up from the beginning of the show steals Toregene's stone that she knew of poisons herself and sends out Moge to unknowingly(?) find any other stones that exist around the camp threatens Toregene to have both her and Sitara killed if she gets in the way poisons Ögedei calls in Sitara to make her give up the second stone sets up the ritual so that Tolui gets poisoned with noone having a stone but herself

Yeah it looks like Boraqchin hit two birds with one stone. Instead of Tolui's wife suspecting Ogedei+Boraq, now it's Tolui's wife against Toregene+Sitara. Toregene is known to dislike her husband but it's easy to forget this isn't just about the MC. Setting it up to be between the two brothers wasn't as easy as Sitara thought it was. Very surprising how Boraq was able to turn everything around so quickly going against the tide of the narrative.

If he was poisoned I doubt that's how. First, those spots in the body might not contain the rahj al-ghar Even if it did, it'd obviously be en much lesser quantities And finally, if the goal is to kill Tolui, it makes no sense to do it with a poison they now know how to treat So I think the poison was already in the water, or put during some other part of the ritual, and it is a different substance.

Well it's an exorcism for a curse, not a poison/disease, at least in the public eye. The whole point was that a shaman is more trustworthy than foreign physicians, so it's easy to arrange events so a trustworthy shaman can do a little poisoning. The curse is just expected to kill him. Which he already accepted, as blood related sacrifice talking up his devotion to Tengri. Dying would be the least suspicious thing, now.

Some cameos of major historical figures that the show hasn't directly stopped to point out: Standing next to Fatima, the older woman in blue might be Börte, the mother of Jochi, Chagatai, Ögedei, and Tolui. She is wearing the same colours as the one we saw in the family tree last episode. Also, the bearded general is actually Subutai, one of history's most renowned military geniuses. I don't believe the show ever stopped to name-drop him, but he is named in the credits. The episode itself was good as always. Möge is always doing her best. It was so funny that when she told Fatima that she was good at detecting lies, Fatima immediately flashback-ed to going cat mode. Also, look at Shira being a smiling bean. Can't say anyone else, but Shira himself is having a great time.
