Tbf, I don't think they ever went in there with the intention of keeping it from the saintess. I'll assume that whenever the Saintess comes along, the King's just gonna hand it over to them. Remember that the only reason he assigned Rin to get the orb was because Vil and co. would've died if the Saintess party were the ones to retrieve it. At least with Rin, there could've been a potential outcome where they lived (which they do). Better to stake it on a chance instead of the guarantee.

It's finally time for the final dungeon of the season! One especially important to Rin because it's a chance to change Smorgasboard's fate from the game! She was never a fan of Otome Games before but she REALLY hates this one for threatening her precious companions! They're not going to die like NPC's this time. I love how the satisfaction of winning a fight for this party all comes down to whether whatever they killed was edible or not. Endlessly spawning monster room? Just hop in Campy and get out of there! Perfect time to forget the seriousness, get back to foodgasms, and leave a lot of confused monsters around! I want to be princess carried by Aria (sorry Ed)... It's the final room! The Final Boss (of this dungeon)! And it's, fittingly, a dragon! And you can tell how serious this is because Gomamiso actually transforms into her Dungeon Boss form. You know you're a married couple in a fantasy party when you can flirt while under fire from a monster. I love how Smorgasboard fights for Rin's sake but they really LOCK IN as soon as Rin mentions how delicious the dragon is. They're combat effectiveness is now vastly contingent on how edible their enemies are. Too bad though that to get the orb they needed to sacrifice a LOT of the meat they got...but at least it wasn't all of it. I wonder, could that orb have boosted Rin's skills? Though I guess the important thing is that, without it, they've severely limited the other Saintess' powers and Vil and the party are safe and sound! And getting to live in a world where his brother is sill alive is all Noah needs. Before joining everyone for some of Rin's delicious cooking! The problems with the Saintess or Rin technically being the new Heroine (or at least half of one) might not go away, but at least she's got Smorgasboard and they'll be able to face all the new challenges, adventures, and new meals together as the OP closes us out.

The premise of traveling with wonderful (and good looking) companions, eating delicious food along the way, is simple and effective. Then we had the lore drop about the world being an otome game, with Ville, Aria, Ed, Senon and possibly Gomamiso being NPC characters. It made us more curious about their fates and how Rin may eventually cross paths with the other Saintess again. In other words, I wouldn't mind a second season!

this has not been too bad for my first modern isekai i found that a lot of the modern isekais had a reputation for being angtsy, heavy, and grimdark like Shield Hero or Sword Art Online; i think there's enough isekai shows nowadays that they've expanded to other flavors like slow life or romance if you liked this kind of isekai, then i can recommend I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level for cute comedy and specifically if you're into food Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill

well, that's a wrap not a bad show; i feel like i've seen bits and pieces of this in other show (Campfire Cooking, Slime 300, Saint's Magic Power, etc.) so it feels like it colors within the lines, and unlike the Vending Machine isekai it doesn't really put the ridiculous anachronism of the motorhome front and center i think my favorite part though it that it's a positive show; it doesn't harbor a revenge-based plot or grimdark worldview that i personally don't like, especially in a chill late night anime i have a feeling we won't see another season, but it would be funny if it did

I think this was a big upgrade to Campfire Cooking, myself. It has a real plot and doesn't spend all its time on cooking, for one. For two, I think Rin is a much better character with her willingness to help where she can rather than complaining endlessly and existing purely as a deadweight that can cook. Obviously it's not really breaking the mold, and the otome game tie in feels kind of odd. But that's just how it's going to be when there are like 60+ shows per season and profit is more important than innovation. So you have to appreciate the smaller things... And here I agree that the overall positive vibes were what it brought to the table more than anything else.

I really like this anime, and I don't want to be negative, but I have to ask: did Rin give the magic stone and orb to Vil's brother? I can't help but be suspicious of him, even though I like him. We can't completely rule out the possibility that he's supposed to be the Demon Lord of the game—and he's also an otherworlder, which is a requirement for being able to touch the two. Or is it actually not related to him at all, and the magic stone and orb are supposed to be a power-up for the Saintess only?

Yet another person has been claimed by Rin's cooking lol. I love how all of them got amped up by the thought of eating delicious food instead of the usual power of friendship lol Guess the power of food is wayyyy addicting, This was a pretty cozy and chill slice of life Foodsekai anime. Rin and her party were very fun and entertaining characters The meals represented here were also very mouthwatering that I shouldn't have watched when i was hungry lol, I'll say that she definitely is one of the best underrated girls of this season I'll miss this show and I hope we can get a season 2 soon. Until then it's been a nice journey with Smorgasboard and also with y'all

Noah could have been a little more helpful, detailing exactly everything he remembered about designing the dungeon rather than just saying it was difficult so they could prepare. I think the big difference that kept everyone from dying was having Campy to rest in and have proper meals and recharge. I'm guessing in the game, they would have been slowly worn down by all the enemies then the dragon killed them. When they were sacrificing the dragon meat, they should have started with the heart, that may have been all it wanted. Hearts usually aren't the best tasting meat, that's why they're cheap to buy. The descriptions for dragon meat seemed analogous to a cow, like the shanks are good when long boiled, the tail is good for soup etc. I'd have gone in ascending order from worst to best meats. They implied Rin was saving the curry for a special occasion since she had just that limited curry roux with her when she was summoned. Noah seemed happy to have it since he probably hasn't since he's been in this world. That world may not have cumin, coriander and/or turmeric so it might be impossible to ever have again. They elaborated a little bit on Campy's abilities/limitations, like they said it can't get in certain size places, like it can't dissolve then just reappear. Also it apparently has unlimited rice and flour in addition to potable water. Seems to also not be harmed at all by dragon fire. I hope this show comes back, it's funny and I enjoy a lot of the recipes they make and fun they have with the different foods.

Advanced condolences to every creature in this world marked as "very tasty", Smorgasborg will definitely steamroll everything 🤣. What a fun show. I hope to see more of this, same with campfire cooking in another world and dungeon cooking. On another note, I'm kind of disappointed that the saintess orb didn't show any reaction to Rin. I was expecting it to give her some powerup for campy or something. Shame.
