But we also see both hikaru kids growing up depressed and completely dissociated from reality. Unless whomever partners up with Gero is mentally a freak of nature, he won't be able to get over his traumatic childhood. Also poison is poisonous in the dosage so he could probably make cool chemistry stuff for kids to interact with. His polymer act could very well become a balloon animal/sword swallowing act if he was ever led to believe that could be one way of displaying his talents.

No one could hate the Bug Master, he's such a nice guy. I believe the explosion guy just wanted to bring fireworks to Bug Master's wedding but he didn't get an invitation so he had to make up some excuse to gatecrash. All that time spent as a hikikomori just turned him into a violent tsundere. Also the Needle and Bug Master don't have to worry about Gero, I'm sure Kinosaki will make him very happy someday. Kinosaki's already got the friend approval! That puts him ahead of Gojo's lady friends!

The premise of the story is that neither of the gero siblings wants the other to sacrifice their happiness for the "family". That is why Hikaru is seeking out a genuine connection to someone when he could easily find a random woman from a lesser master bloodline who couldn't refuse. Not to mention the series hammers it in again and again that your happiness and your future is something you forge with your own hands, and that you don't have to follow any "conventions" as long as you're seeking to build something genuine and mutual. Do I expect kinosaki to be endgame? There's enough hints that I'm comfortable saying there's possibility. I wouldn't insist kinosaki is endgame bc the series isn't over but I wouldn't deny the possibility at all lol.

With the focus on bloodlines I don't believe this would work. I just think Kinosaki is actually a women because we see Gero look at sound masters naked chest just fine while he was very awkward with Kinosaki. Being masters they he might have already known all along that he is actually a she. The other masters at the wedding also refer to her as a miss and Kinosaki doesn't seem to have any bloodline powers to mask that? Also in ep1 the thugs referred to kinosaki as her and they had her locked down and basically IDed and vetted. They must have at least inspected her for weapons and positively identified her gender to refer to her as such.

I mean, I wouldn't take the subtitles as too much of an indicator. Remember, in Japanese, there are only very few gender indications when talking to someone. They probably just used Ms, because that is what Kinosaki dressed as. As for the bloodline issue. I mean, the whole show is more or less indicating how problematic the whole bloodline thing is in the first place. Every master has childhood issues. So them breaking the tradition by adopting would actually fit that theme.

Ya but so far Gero hasn't really murdered any of people he fought so far. He used to be a villain as well. He will most likely take a path with the least bloodshed which means conforming to become the head then changing the structure later. Him drastically shaking up the status quo at this point is very unlikely for his character if it means he has to kill his own clan masters. There were a lot of people that have done things objectively worse than his grandmother that he did not kill.

I absolutely love Toshiki's bug-themed wedding with bugs everywhere that kids can play with. I feel bad for anyone afraid of bugs is that wedding, but knowing how considerate Toshiki is, he probably gave everyone a heads up about the bugs with his invitation, especially on the bride's side of the family. Glad to see more of Gero's friends. Honestly, it's quite a surprise he has more than one friend. I do love that Tsunagi's greeting is giving Gero an impromptu acupuncture session so he has money to take his kids out to a theme park. So far, Gero's assassin friends are all stand-up guys. Of course, there's gonna be a wedding crasher just because he believes that Toshiki saved him just to feel good about himself when the guy is just really compassionate. I do love the fight between him and Gero, especially since Gero has one of Toshiki's pets, Julia Jr., helping him and basically giving him Spider-Man powers for the fight. I'm glad Yamada changed his mind after seeing how Toshiki is really just a nice guy . The dude accidentally ended up giving Toshiki a present by clearing up the weather with his explosion. 😆 We get to learn lore this episode! So there are 5 head families, and both the Bug Master and Needle Masters are branch families of the Gero Clan. Well, now I'm curious what the specialty of the other Head Families is because I can't wait to see how wacky they'd go with the branch families. No surprise that Mei ends up befriending Toshiki and Tsunagi. I do wonder if Gero told them that Mei is a dude. I'm gonna guess that they're probably aware of it. Oooooo, it looks like we have an assassin hunter and his current target is Gero. Curious to see what's the deal about him and the person ordering him to hunt assassins.

It really shows how considerate Bug Master is that he had something set up for anyone bringing kids. I mean, Needle Masters' kids definitely need stuff to keep them occupied lol. (I kind of want to see Needle Masters' wife now) I love how they throw in Julia Jr. the loyal spider Best Girl partner, which also begs the question what happened to Julia Sr. Instead of blowing up a couple, he blew up for them. The best part is Kinosaki was able to fluster nearly every man and woman in that wedding (maybe even people who already had dates) who probably didn't care what gender Kinosaki was lol.

Bug Master Toshiki is such a sweetie 🥹 I’m so jealous of his wife to be. hmm… The Bug Master and His Soon to Be Wife? Why does this acupuncturist look like a JJBA character? If he has needles in his mouth, I have to assume he takes them out for other activities. Anna is beautiful! That’s a gorgeous wedding dress and veil for her. Very nice little train. Did he take his mask off for the kiss? Was Julia present? I have so many questions for this man. Not the arthropod shoes now 😭 Juju had a baby?! Juju Jr is adorable, oh my stars. Ah. So he’s a bomb devil. Shit he is a bomb devil, wat. He should’ve used a choker with a linchpin for his boom boom pow. There’s my girl Juju! Juju and BB (Brushbuddy) are best animal companions for me this season. Lowkey shocked other masters wouldn’t notice Bomb Voyage. I swear to god, this was an excuse to make Gero into Spiderman. Toshiki looks like he gives such good hugs too. He looks like such a cuddle bug. He is a big boy. This is so sweet, oh my goodness. “Hitman Hunter”. Either Kinosaki is end game and Gero completely overhauls the system these masters play, or Gero does not end up with anyone, still overhauls the system, and he decides he’ll keep searching for love with Kinosaki at his side. I love seeing hitmen be family people or friendly. Gero’s generation seem to be all right people and seemingly are breaking some cycles and I love that for them. So this new pink-haired girlie will probably be in the friend-harem the one who keeps trying to seduce Gero but he either misses all her attempts or he becomes too flustered by her being way too forward. The Hitman Hunter looks cute. I like his hair. I hope he gets pulled over to the protagonist side. I wonder how weird he is though. Everyone has at least one quirk. I am betting that Kinosaki is a woman and is endgame. We saw her in the human zoo and their relationship is just too front and center. Gotta remember that the first ep have Gero do an execution contract and the thugs were referring to Kinosaki as she/her and with her locked down so tightly they prob already vetted and inspected her. She also was telling him that he looked like her first crush so they must have somehow met before.

Honestly, it’d be so fucking great if Kinosaki is a trans woman oe a transfemme NB 🏳️‍⚧️ or an intersex person. Not to say I dislike crossdressing MLs or that Kinosaki was playing the “I’m man dressed as a woman but I’m actually a cis woman pretending to be a crossdressing man” card. But on top of a bisexual awakening from Gero, we get trans, NB, or intersex rep??? I’d be fucking twerking in a Costco for this. I don’t think that’ll happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kinosaki is really is just a femme man or a man who likes crossdressing and Kinosaki doesn’t mind he/him or she/her—or Kinosaki is cis woman who is trying to survive in this world as best she can and clocked that Gero is a very shy but respectful boi when it comes to women. But a trans, NB, or intersex storyline would go so hard 😭

Honestly, depression does wild things for a person, he thought his purpose in life was to be a suicide hitman. I get that by Bug Master disarming his head bomb, he was snatched of his purpose in life to be a sacrificial pawn of the yakuza, hence his grudge against the person, no matter how kind hearted he is. Anime trope aside, that moment of recognising someone's help is because they see value in you hits really hard and makes you want to change your life around to be better

Nice little breather episode before I assume the next (final?) arc of the season. When Needle Master and Bug Master made there comment about Kinosaki making Gero happy...dudes totally are shipping those two together (like most of us here). Makes me wonder how Gero has been talking about Kinosaki with others...clearly Bugmaster was getting a romantic interest vibe, hence making sure to invite the "significant other". Now we just need to get the sister and Kinosaki to meet up. Bug Master continues to be surprisingly wholesome. I liked the little bit more lore we got this episode. I did wonder why there seemed to be so much overlap in the expertise of masters, but it kind of makes sense if folks like the poison and needle masters are old offshoots. Also puts Gero's family in more context, if the other masters are that terrified of them.

I was showing the first 2 episodes of this series to a friend this weekend to pitch it to him and get him to watch it and one moment I had forgotten was that Gero and the Bug Master bring up the needle master in the first episode. My friend was very confused on why there is a needle master when a poison master exists so having the needle master appear for the first time and for them to explain how the bug and needle master clans are descendants of the poison clans in the newest episode after that is a very funny coincidence.

Okay, the way they included all the insects into the marriage was kind of cute. Especially with all the ways to entertain the kids and fly off into the night sky after hatching from its cocoon as a beautiful butterfly. Now I wonder how Gero's marriage might look like with different poison. Might be a bit harder to do family friendly. And while I am really not much into spiders, I have to say that Julia Jr. was cute. Not sure if I could say that about Julia Sr. She might be terrifying. I wonder if the puppet master had something against the insect master or was just okay with his test subject going after anyone? Well no matter what, insect master is just such a good guy that no one can stay angry at him. As for next week, we seemingly get the next potential target. Even though she is interested in killing Gero. But what would be a story like this without a true bad girl? I find it funny that it seems to be the first time that Kinosaki might not be interested in Gero pursuing her (at least that is what I get from the preview). A bit jealousy maybe? Who can say? But speaking of Kinosaki, he is rocking another outfit once more.

Tbf, if insects were always this well behaved like here, most people would probably not have a huge issue with them. Like instead of getting stung by a mosquito while camping, you get to see beautiful butterflies. But I agree that it is nice that Anna is fine with all of his quirks. Like I assume there is a reason that he always have to wear a mask and she doesn't mind kissing him regardless. So a perfect win.

I do think Puppet Master derives some of their pleasure from the game of modifying people into his puppets as well. They're willing to take care of their puppets so they can perform the best they can do but their marionette strings are long enough to let them roam freely and not go against the puppeteer themself. We do know that Hiroshi is laced with bombs and is able to communicate with the puppet master freely so what's to say he can't be automatically killed if he goes against the puppeteer's wishes.

Wedding dresses are fanservice for the heart! Kinosaki wanted to leave our boy on his own, but he needs his +1! Bug Master was quite polite and eloquent! For 99% of people, this scene was pretty cute/funny, but for the remaining 1% who watched Island Of Giant Insects it probably had a different vibe hah. When the explosive dude talked about how BugMaster stole the joy of his life and all I thought it would be a jealousy thing (him loving the wifey), but I can see why he'd hold a grudge after that! (even if it was for the right reason)! Oh damn, someone thinks there's a few too many masters out there? I kinda like spear fighters, would've liked seeing him fight! (Though it was probably 'enhanced spearfighting' and not the normal stuff hah) I wonder what this is about, a rival assassin company (reminiscent of another similar anime)? There was that info dump/flashback about the hierarchy in the families, is this linked to it? Someone at the bottom wanting to shake things up? Next potential love interest? Unless she's the Boobs Master!

Aww this was such a heartwarming episode, I enjoyed seeing Toshiki's wedding. I'm glad we finally learned his name, he looks so happy with Anna. I hope they have a happy marriage too.  It was nice to meet another friend of Gero's, Needle Master abruptly doing acupuncture on was a little amusing lol. He seems like another nice guy so I'm glad Gero has some good guys around him.  I did find it interesting learning that Toshiki and Needle Master are from branch families, and normally their relationship with Gero wouldn't be this equal. I wasn't surprised by it, but I do wonder if we'll some conflict regarding this in the future. I like how they requested Kinosaki to bring happiness to Gero too, what a wholesome group of friends.  Julia Jr and Gero paired up was cool to see. I like how involved the bugs were at the wedding, it all looked pretty with their involvement, but it was nice to know they were doing their best to also protect Toshiki's wedding.

Ok interesting so Bug and Needle and there's some others like disease are all branch families of the poison clan huh? interesting so the 5 great families aren't just the biggest/strongest/best most well known etc but literally the 5 families. The rest are all just sub branches. I wonder if the water master and sound master we saw are branch families too or the rare non-branch ones? Anyways congrats to Bug Master. His wedding was amazing and he's a great guy he definitely deserves happiness. Now at the end we got some one hunting down masters huh? They just took out the spear master, apparently. A hit man hunter. I wonder if any of the other big 4 master families etc have noticed these guys doing this? I do hope we get to learn about them.

Bug Master's rather wholesome wedding was just a breather episode to introduce more world building regarding the Master Bloodline Assassins. Makes sense that the bug user clan and needle user clan are branch families of the poison user clan, as their tools (bugs and needles) still require the use of poison in order to lethally take out their targets. Gero may have stopped the cyborg dude from killing Bug Master, we still don't know why the Puppet Master, who modified the dude, wanted to kill the Bug Master. Could he be in league with the Assassin Killer, whose next target is Gero, at the end of the episode? PS Julia Jr is Best Spider Girl and a great partner for Gero when Gero needs to take out smaller enemies that don't require him using his Bloodline Techniques.

I think the best part of this episode for me was Needle master and bug master bonding with Kinosaki about Gero. Despite the power imbalance between the families Gero and Bug care about each other deeply and that relationship should be cherished, and thus they want Gero to be happy too. Was nice to see Gero not rely on poisoning himself since it hurts him every time he does it, despite also making him super powerful. I really hope he relies on his poisons more in fights moving forward. Or at least just his normal super human power instead of his insane level of it. So pink haired lady is the next member of the bride train. Curious if she's a master or a normal person, since the OP makes it look like at some point water master will join in as well and she's a master.

Toshiki might look like one terrifying mofo, but he really had a heart of gold. Little wonder Gero worked his damned best to ensure his wedding day went smoothly and he succeeded at that – no one realised their lives were in danger. Happy to see him get his happy ending with a lovely woman who saw past his appearances. He's not a bug, though. The one moment which started Toshiki and Gero's friendship. While he's technically subservient to Gero, the latter saw him as a friend and equal who gave him motivation to find a bride of his own. Hope Gero would also one day get his own happy ending.

Don't worry Kinosaki! The Bug Master, Toshiki Hanamki, is actually a really sweet guy despite how he looks! Why, he even sends Kinosaki a sweet personalized message and wedding invite by way of butterfly! Of course Gero's best friend would want Gero's perpetual plus one and relationship guru to be at his wedding! Gives Kinosaki an excuse to get a new dress anyways. At a Bug Master wedding you'll find big bugs that children can play with and another of Gero's buddies, Tsunagi the Needle Master! Who not only can fix you up with some impressive needlework AND is also a father of three rambunctious tykes! One of his kids even takes Gero's needles off for him. Can any couple say they've arrived at their wedding with blue butterfly wings? I don't think so. Although having a Meet Cute after Toshiki saved Anna from falling down a mountain is pretty normal! Minus the spiders. It's really a beautiful ceremony and Toshiki and Anna are clearly in love with each other. THIS is what Gero has been searching for! And he wouldn't be where he is today if Bug master wasn't such a great guy who, despite any family drama between them, just wanted to hang out with and get to know Gero. Though I guess it was too much to hope that none of Bug Masters' enemies would attack the wedding. Luckily Gero and Julia Jr. are on the case. Kinosaki is the GOAT. Giving a wedding speech for Gero to a couple he literally only met THAT day, while also managing to make all the men and women blush over him. Gero is so lucky to have him...just like Gero was lucky to have Toshiki in his life. This dude was a hikkikomori who finally found reason to live after being turned into a cyborg who blows himself up to kill people. So of course Toshiki, good guy that he is, de-fused said bomb and now he's raging at him and trying to ruin his wedding. But with the power of spider-webs and the bad guy realizing that the Bug Master was legit, it all ends with a big show in the sky for the happy couple! The insect/needle families may be branches of the Gero Family, of the Five Master Families, but Toshiki saw that Gero is really just a normal guy doing his best and that's how they all became friends! And now they've accepted that Kinosaki can make Gero happy by marrying...I mean, finding the person he can marry! Kinosaki totally has their seal of approval one way or another! Next week: Hamsters! Hot Girl! And the Hitman Hunter and his lady friend!?

Toshiki, his new wife, and all his bugs so incredibly wholesome. Same for the Needle Master and his boys, you can hardly believe they're from this awful underground society of assassination masters. On a similar note who would have ever guessed an insect wedding could be so lovely. Of course, part of the reason the Bug and Needle Masters can be so wholesome in the current generation probably wraps back around to their families being under the Gero family who has such a chill heir. Easy to imagine some or all of the other four great families not being so hands off.

I mean, just stuff like controlling bugs is already pretty op, and they are only a branch family, so I assume the current family head can do all of the shit that branch family does, but also have their own stuff. Think of the Hyuga clan from Naruto also from other fiction I see, you can stretch the definition of what is a poision, bc ultimately poison is just anything that destroys your cells when it goes inside your body. So I'm 100% sure they will look more fantasy as we see more of the clan, bc Gero is probably like a hatchling in terms of how strong he is in typical shounen fashion
