he immediately thought of the power dynamic between a hostage and rescuer, and said that he feels like he would be taking advantage of them. It's so interesting to me, this and the bit Kinosaki said (it's just to get you to the starting line, after that you can build a good relationship); Because it's the same kind of logic they use in the [movie] Wedding Crashers to justify what they're doing, and I was talking about it in here not too long ago, in the context of another anime (forgot which one)! But seems Gero has a stronger moral code!

I mean, it's not like they're tricking them, putting them in danger, or using the rescue as leverage to pressure them into a date. The goal is just to find people who are already in danger, and use that as an opportunity to both do a good deed and show off his cool side. If that makes the woman curious to know more about him, great, if not they move on to the next job and never bother her again (plus she got rescued). It's not much different from the speed dating thing, except in situations where he's more in his element.

This is definetly one of the gems of this season. Loved everything about this episode. Action is great, love the relationship advice but what steals the show for me is Kinosaki and his interactions with Gero. I’m glad they didn’t change his presentation after revealing he was a guy in the first episode to a more comedic one and are allowing him to be imo the best girl in the season. Rooting hard for Gero x Kinosaki. I need grandma to get what she wants in Gero getting married but with the unoreverse of my partner is a guy. Also I know Gero is focused in the fight but when I realized that the water master was a girl my first thought was another potential partner but they don’t seem to be going that way. And the opening is fantastic one of the best ones this season.

Rooting hard for Gero x Kinosaki. I need grandma to get what she wants in Gero getting married but with the unoreverse of my partner is a guy. Their interactions are great but don't forget Gero needs to produce heirs not just get married. Kinosaki would be a great partner but Gero will need more than that to satisfy his grandmother. Otherwise they'll turn Gero's sister into a baby farm and that's not good.

I personally have a feeling he will end up with Kinosaki. They already have great chemistry together and to me Gero ending with a woman just like his grandma wants feels unsatisfying and letting her win. Him rebelling against her by marrying a man after having originally looking for a partner to save his sister’s relationship with her girlfriend would be a very satisfying ending. Doesn’t even need to mean the end of the clan, Gero or his sister can adopt a child or get a student who will become the next poison master. Assuming the next head needs to be blood related is a conservative and outdated belief that if Gero is able to break would make a great ending for the series in the future and what I hope will happen in the story.

Banger OP and ED. Himekawa might be a good match for Gero personality-wise since they're both using their skills to do good. Water Master was a girl too, maybe Gero can consider dating her. Surely someone has tried doing some eugenics stuff with the Modified Bloodlines that the Masters have. Nah who we kidding, Kinosaki still best girl. Did you see the way Gero looked at Kinosaki when they showed up for the date? Bro is already in love, he just doesn't know it yet.

Okay, I think it would be a terrible twist because it’s boring, predictable, and a blatant cop-out. It dodges the much more interesting version of the story, where tradition is treated as the problem and personal happiness actually matters, the same way it clearly does with Gero’s lesbian sister. It would also be a pretty decent step forward for queer representation without feeling forced. So yeah, “surprise, Kinosaki was actually a woman the whole time” would be weak as hell. Most people who think about it for a couple seconds agree with its stupid but I get thats difficult for some in this community especially the shonen fans. Hope this helps!

Okay firstly, why do these guards wear such stupidly big hats? Imagine the wind on a ship and then wearing a big hat like that. But more importantly, why does a comedy like this have such good action? I hope we get to see all kinds of poison in the future as well but it seems they are really going for very Shounen level power system and I am all here for it. Also, I guess this will be the series with another best girl war coming up. I didn't expect them to introduce a love rival this quickly. But they seemingly want to go for an all out war. Kinosaki still has the lead for me, but let's see how the date with Himekawa goes next week.

Can a straight guy really be considered to be questioning their sexuality if they are attracted to Kinosaki though? He presents himself as a woman in every way, shape and form even if he identifies as a man. My point is that you're still drawn to the female characteristics. Kinosaki is drawn like a hot anime girl and would be seen as one if the author didn't specify that he's a man. That's just my pseudo-philosophical pondering of the day.

That's the whole thing on why sexuality gets confusing. Like for me, personally, I'm attracted to femininity more than whether or not they are a woman. For instance I am generally more attracted to a woman presenting male that is super feminine than a masculine tomboy that is a woman. I consider myself as straight but a lot of people wouldn't. I honestly hate the labels altogether. All of them. I know it is natural for humans to want to categorize but I feel like in this particular instance, it is a little silly. Edit: I feel like at the end of the day, people are going to be attracted to whomever they are attracted to and the term for it doesn't really matter.

The OP is the type of music I’d hear if I was in like an abandoned warehouse for a queer rave and it’s all humid and sweaty. This is a positive for me and such a vibe! Oi! Oi!📢 Where was this waterbending baddie during the Avatar Aang movie 😭 Oh okay, so this new lady (1) has lovely multicolored eyes, and (2) probably will be falling for the MC? Gasmask Gero is such a baddie. Gods. I don’t like that one eye is exposed though. Need the full gasmask. But I cannot emphasize enough that we need more gasmask baddies, so the dozens of us who love this will be sated. Love giving romance advice while murdering people. As a pescatarian, I’d love to so yakiniku but with fish instead of beef. So hungry 🤤 I’m very curious if we will have a more serious moment in Gero questioning his attraction, given Kinosaki. As much as I feel it’ll mainly be comedic, I hope we do get a serious beat for it.

But seriously tho, that entire date was adorable and I like how Kinosaki used it to show that even weirdos can get baddies as long as they have the right charm. So the person Gero is rescuing today is some sort of Robin Hood kind of figure who steals art from malicious art collectors and returns it to their proper owners. Oh, and somehow she also can communicate with sharks. I feel like that second point was grossly understated. I want to know more about the shark! 😆 Okay, what's up with the ship's security and why are they wearing insanely long hats? Also, for some reason they have Scott Summers and Logan in their team , plus a dude with a massive sword. 😆 Oh, the Water Master is a woman? I love that instead of directly fighting Gero, she does a WaterPoint TM presentation of the pros and cons of continuing this fight, plus an explanation of how Modified Bloodlines work. I kinda love it. I hope she's not a one-time villain. We also got to see her face in the end! That fight scene was goddamn awesome! It would be hilarious if, instead of Himekawa, this ended up with Gero going on a date with Ushio instead. 😆

They’re probably not the single most beautiful character that I’ve personally seen, but Kinosaki certainly ticks off a lot of boxes with their charming personality and looks. In terms of anime with gorgeous characters, there’s for example Vanitas no Karte , With You and the Rain , NieR Automata and Apothecary Diaries too. Respectively Jeanne, Fuji, 2B and Gyokuyou/Lihua are absolute beauties. Also, I will forever have a thing for Hizuru from Summer Time Rendering .

Random Thoughts So I legit wasn't sure sure where on the spectrum of "grounded" and fantastical this show was going to land, but clearly this is going to be more zany than I thought based on the first episode. Which is fine with me...the characters are fun and the action great. It's funny that Kinosaki was talking all about Gero saving people as a way to meet and riz up the ladies, when it's pretty obvious that is what is going on with her. Also, Kinosaki is totally in the lead right now for best girl of the season. Himekawa riding a great white shark raises so many questions, and it's funny that it's basically just dropped as a side note with no explanation. Also Gero's plan might be failed before it begins if Himekawa is an actual Elasmobranchosexual. Normally this would be a joke but we did have a side character last season in Sentenced to be a Hero that seemed to be in love with his dragon, and not the cute monster girl kind. Why do I think at some point Gero and the Water Bender are going to end up on a date?

In a world of deadly and lethal masters...one of them is looking for that special someone to get married too! The OP is pretty perfect in conveying what the series is about! Gero and Kinosaki getting loaded up with their personal weapons, all the lovely ladies and dangerous Masters and quirky characters the pair will encounter in their adevntures, a sexy girl with a hamster, Kinosaki putting on tights and being naked in flowers to really make you question your sexuality, and a Kill or Kiss dance with Gero and Kinosaki! From all appearances Gero is on a date with a classy, beautiful, young lady...which is the perfect time for Kinosaki to prep Gero with a practice date! He even gets to hold his hand, free of charge! Even if he's clearly has no idea what he's doing, though when Gero actually finds something at a ship art gallery that he's interested in, however unconventional, he and Kinosaki actually have a good time. If an eccentric artist like Takeru Shiratori can have a cute wife, then Gero certainly can! All he needs to do is capitalize on his special skills as a Poison Master! They don't have to just be used to kill people, they can also help him protect, save, and charm young ladies! Like they charmed Kinosaki! Enter Kyoko Himekawa (Anna Nagase!) an infamous art thief who looks amazing in a skintight wetsuit! It doesn't matter how tall your guard hat is, she'll easily elude you with her shark "boyfriend!" She just had the bad luck of being on the business bad end of Water Master Ushio (Mariya Ise). Kyoko might be an art thief, but she's an art thief with ethics who only steals paintings for the sake of the original owners who TRULY deserve it. Just ask her team/fanboys! And I wouldn't want a painting I made to be in the hands of some weirdo who licks it, even if the faux teardrop effectively makes Himekawa's point, especially when that painting of an artists' daughter deserves to be in the hands of HER daughter. Kinosaki is a marriage swindler and conman, not a fighter, so he's not qualified to be infiltrating a ship full of big and skinny guards who can kill him...but Gero needs Kinosaki. Especially to help run inference/mediate through Gero's inability to talk to women. He can beat up tons of people hand-to-hand, but holding a conversation with a woman he just met? Nearly impossible. You will believe poison will make you imagine you lost your hand in a splash of rainbows and the ghost of the portrait you purloined will roast you alive! Well, maybe not the best impression that Himekawa is more concerned about how they're going to afford Gero than whether he's dateable, but right now they have to protect her from Ushio! A consummate businessperson whose diligent and does cool water gestures with their Master Powers! They even shamelessly plug the company Business Divesuit! But Gero's not going to give up fighting for Himekawa, even while poisoned near death to bring out his best fighting ability, because she may or may not be the future Mrs. Ger! The ED is basically just Kinosaki being Kinosaki! You may now continue to question your sexuality.

Holy shit this OP is fire . Not my favorite of the season currently but I could see it growing on me. Though passing Botan Kamiina's OP will be tough (though part of that is how crazy the hand cam style works). So I assume Mei is basically always going to be in girl 'guise for Gero. Hahahaha burn through 100ks of Yen to hold Mei's hand. Dude is confident! Surprised Mei didn't compare date prep to setting up an assassination to get through to Gero. Gero loves his candy kits. But the tilted head bit is great. These two already have such a fun dynamic. The pile of bodies collapsing as they talk, this show is so silly. I'm glad Gero knows about the suspension bridge effect and doesn't want to abuse it for women. Dark Nav, eh? And of course the Masters don't need it. Man Mei, are you trying to seduce Gero with your eating? lol the glasses question. I love Gero. Oh my god I hate villains who lick things in anime. It always tells me the character is a waste of screen time. Gero isn't a king, he's a fucking god. What a double kick. But for all his combat prowess his conversation skills are so bad. LOL he was destroying dudes without pumping himself of God toxin. Water boy has no shot. Okay water was a bit stronger than I thought but clearly still outclassed as he keeps powering up. This ED is nice but personally I prefer the OP. Why does Tuesday have to be so stacked? 5 different shows I dig all come out today.
