Honestly overall this season felt like a step down from season 1 in general. The Leon arc was okay and necessary to an extent, even if the ending was underwhelming, but the Cedric arc was just having to sit through a lot of annoying moments that ultimately had no payoff. And Pride's interactions with her Harem just weren't enough to carry the show that much. Especially when Pride herself only did so much.

I guess it was a good call for me to drop this after Leon arc ended. I've been reading the threads after ep6 and when people said the next guy to get introduced is annoying and an ahole I figured it would just be the same stuff again. Really unfortunate it went this harem focus direction, as season 1 it felt like it built up the characters to be uniquely interesting and Pride herself actually was cool when she fought.

Yeah, I share this sentiment as well. Just not really a fan of the harem focus. If I knew beforehand I wouldn't have started at all. But for some reason this text book example of a reverse harem show does not have the reverse harem tag

Speaking of Pride and her harem, I do not understand how this show doesn't have a reverse harem tag. Especially this season it was very clearly a harem, and it followed all the tropes of a harem (specifically, all her harem members constantly waffling on about how amazing Pride is) I personally ended up dropping it after the Leon arc because I'm just not really a fan of that kind of harem/reverse harem shows, and it really felt like it was steering hard into that direction. I was also really disappointed with how little Tiara gets to do. As far as I'm aware there is zero indication of Tiara being capable of being a heroine. She's barely a background character. In my opinion a good villainess show makes good use of the OG heroine as well, like Fiancee observation log or Villainess lvl 99

We’re not confirmed to my knowledge but it wouldn’t surprise me. The LNs are doing well, and while season 2 was definitely a question, this is a bit of an odd spot to end if you didn’t have a plan for 3. Without going into too much, the upcoming plot for season 3 has an arc that definitely has a spot the series could conclude on. This season was written like it was given news that a 3rd season was coming. Otherwise we could have sped up some things and, while rushed, ended this season on a more satisfying spot.

You're kidding right? The second half of this season was trash. Are you telling me that absolute shit pacing was all in order to avoid actually getting into the war? We didn't even see the enemy side at all like they didn't want to cast anybody for the roles and get their hopes up. It was during this episode that I realized how much this season paled in comparison to the first and when I first questioned if they had underwent a budget cut. No wonder everything was dragging on. This would be a terrible place to end and not get another season because none of this was material increasing the likelihood of this getting another season. They legit packed as much glaze as they could into this episode then ended it and they were clearly just trying to fill time. Pride had the "I didn't want them to be at odds with each other like in the game" inner dialogue twice with the exact same image showing except the second time they added a picture of the ailing king. Just atrocious. With this being the finale, up until halfway through the episode I was thinking "are they really about to wipe out the enemy military in 1 episode? That's crazy. Most anime would have skipped their opening credits for something like this." Just LOL.

It wasn't enough for Pride to give such an excellent speech, but she also had to flex with that knife before she returned it 😆 But damn, it's so annoying that she's still beating herself over Evil Pride , throwing her life into every danger to atone for something she didn't do, and still thinks that she'll die in the end , killed by her loved ones. Overall, it was a nice season! Nothing outstanding, but I was glad to see Pride again (especially in that military uniform ), and considering the end of today's finale , I hope that we'll see her once again in the future. 7/10 from me. I can't believe they actually ended the Season there. I'm already used to cliffhangers, but to end it right before the war started??? That's just stupid. I don't have any problem with Leon's arc, but the second half of the Season just felt like a major waste of time, knowing that it's basically just a very long setup for the war next Season (if they even get it). Edit: I just realised that we don't even get any Badass Pride moment scene here, like the one towards the end of Season 1. That knife flip scene after she cut her finger already piqued my interest, but it's such a small scene that I'm not nearly satisfied enough.

Overall, I thought the season was alright, but I do have some issues with it. . I would've liked to see Tiara do more for the plot. So far, she has nothing to contribute, other than stand around in the corner of the room, and occasionally provide moral support. Maybe they will have do more in season 3, but right now, I'm disappointed. . The Evil OG Pride scenes annoyed me. I know that they're meant to show us how evil she was, make MC Pride afraid of becoming her, and serve as her internal conflict to motivate her into being someone respectable, but other than that, they feel superfluous. She's practically an entirely different person, both in the timeline, the way people treat her, and in her personality; not once has there been a moment where I'm afraid that she might become OG Pride. Maybe if they had where OG Pride's personality actually seeped through, unbeknownst to MC Pride, then maybe I would have some concern for this personal conflict. . I'm also not a fan of the cliffhanger ending of this season. This season is not without its issues.

Look at how the opening ends with evil pride directly behind her. If I didnt know anything about this show, I wouldve assumed the original villainess was absolutely still a factor. But no Its just cool imagery and nothing more Oh well, at least One Within the Villainess is coming out next year

Her mentality isn't a surprise when you think about it. She's a bleeding heart who cant stand others being hurt and woke up in the character who causes the most pain to others. Even if she changed events, things still occur to the games overall storyline so the fear she has of herself is valid. Probably a bit of imposter syndrome mixed in. Being Pride Royale Ivy she's bearing the sins of the Pride she knows, even if its different from her current reality

What finale? Where is the war? Where is Ivy kicking ass? This was supposed to be the climax of the story, but instead, it just ends exactly as the war is starting. They took the setup for one of the best villainess anime out there and managed to screw it up this badly. By stretching out the narrative just to build up the supporting cast, the adaptation completely diluted what makes Ivy such a compelling character. We completely missed out on her absolute badass nature and got hit with an abrupt ending right when the actual action was supposed to kick off. what a let down...

I admittedly dropped this at exactly halfway of the season, so my views are of course very skewed to those parts that I saw. Though I continued to read the threads to see if it got any better. But from what I got they introduced another Prince and he's really annoying and entitled from what people said. While the harem is still there in the background fawning at Pride every chance they got. The war arc does have me intrigued if this has another season, so I might skip to it to check out. But man I hope the characters have some individuality to them. I got really tired of seeing Stale and Arthur regress like kids over their crush on Pride. While Pride herself doesn't really seem to be doing much of anything as she relies on her harem to do the physical stuff, while she just gives motivational speeches. I don't get what happened to this compared to Season 1 which was way more interesting and fun. Both the guys and Pride actually felt like people with their own stories. It even setup stories with the random electric kid that Stale teleported away. Like what even happened to him. One thing i'll give to this show is that it actually showed the characters growing up and getting a bit of a glow up, especially Pride and her design went from smol must protect to holy onee-san.

Not gonna lie. Season 1 was absolutely nothing special, but this season was pretty bad. I have absolutely no idea why pride is going out of her way for this shit hole country after they tried to force her country into joining a war with them. Literally gain nothing from it. The “evil” pride was actually extremely smart and annexed them instead which is what a country like pride’s should have done in this situation. Overall, prides gotta be one of the least likable MCs I’ve seen in this genre. All the guys around her are some of the least likable I’ve seen as well. Pride’s entire existence is to basically be simped for by the characters around her whose entire existence is to simp for pride. Nothing about her is really even worth remotely simping for either. The only time she ever does anything is when the author remembers she’s actually isekaied and uses that whenever it’s convenient. Why would anyone ever kneel for her? She does basically nothing the entire time. The prince guy is ifuriating with how he just basically faces no consequences for what he did. If this was reality in worlds like this, he’d be put to death for espionage for what he did and his country annexed. Honestly, I would have much rather seen the real story with evil pride being the actual main character. If you took her and toned down some of the actual just cruel acts for the sake of being cruel, then she’d be a very intriguing character and the show would be worth watching. Also. where the fuck is the original MC girl? She like basically doesn’t exist at all in this show anymore. She’s shown like twice.

I'm glad they were all visibly concerned and upset about the oath Pride made. I particularly liked how Stale let Rodrick actually scold Pride too, she needed to hear how that'll change the motivation and reasons for the Knights. This will either empower them or make them more reckless.  Yohan and Cedric kneeling was a surprising gesture to see, but together with the Freesia knights it looked really cool. I'm curious to see what Lance will do later to show respect.  This is another series where I think the first season was more interesting than the second. Hopefully the war arc will make things more interesting if this gets a third season.

No, no, no, it's already ended 😭 I like this series so, soo, sooo much, same goes for Pride-sama! And yet, I'm with Arthur and Stale. I'd be so, so mad if I were Arthur or anyone there. Like, I mean, you're our precious Crown Princess, to go so far as to promise to burn yourself at the stake if you didn't win the war, damn, that's insane. Like, my blood would boil for real just thinking about it, thinking about why this mere small nation got the attention of our dear Crown Princess so much, to the point of that. Though I do understand the reasoning behind why she did it from every angle, I'd still be mad. Commander Roderick-san getting mad like that is so valid. We surely wouldn't care that much if it were the real Pride-sama (the villain one), but this Pride-sama, she needs to be protected at all costs. Even that blood oath made me mad. That small nation dared to make Pride-sama cut her finger and spill her blood on top of that? But then he knelt, so that's done, okay. But Lance, his pride is even bigger. She saved you, and you give excuses like, "As king, bla bla bla..." Just kneel. Yes, you're a king, but just kneel, save your pride. Even Baka-Cedric kneels. Well, at least he bowed to Pride-sama, but he still needed to kneel. She saved you! Ahem, anyway, I think I've talked too much. Now, I'm looking forward to Season 3 for sure!

I see the people of Chinensis revere their king like a religious figure, and are also acutely aware that they're heading into a conflict they can't win and don't want to drag Cersis into it. Which is why they don't react well when Yohan says they're planning to fight back with another nation they've never had any dealings with before. But if Pride has to play the "bad guy," if she has to show she's resolved to die and burn at the stake with Yohan, to do an epic speech and epic blood oath with Yohan to show she's committed and dedicated to this, then she'll do it! Of course she also spoke WELL beyond what is expected of her as a future queen and as a representative of Freesia, especially for the high expectations that put on everyone around her, and it's rare to see Stale, Arthur, and even Arthur's dad mad at her. But they're still going to pull through for her anyways because that's what they do! Whatever Pride's opinion of Cedric, she genuinely wants to see him happy and not lose those closest to him like he did in the game. That he and Yohan can still be bros means as much to her as protecting the people of the United Hanazuo Kingdom. So they have visual holographic communications? Can they be more consistent with how sci-fi this setting is!? Pride sure has come far with THREE nations basically bowing to her in respect and deference or promising to at a later point. It's like EVERYBODY loves Pride now! That was a surprisingly tender moment between Pride and Cedric. They sure have come far since his introduction. And we close out on the United Hanazuo Alliance prepared to do battle...which we don't actually get to see. So all of that was just build up for a fight that we'll have to wait another season for!? Um...okay.

Like they don't trust the person coming to help them because what if they betray them, but completely and absolutely trust that the guys coming to kill them will only kill them and not their friends next door as well, lol its just a bit silly.

THATS IT?!?!? I know most anime are just to promote Manga sales (still feels like an odd business strategy but whatever) but to end the season there is just too cruel! Even if we get a 3rd season, sadly I dont think im gonna get my wish of Pride taking the field to kick some ass. With how vehemently everyone was declaring they'd protect her, i doubt anyone would let her anywhere near the battlefield.

That was an interesting thing with the wine and the blood oath, a bit of a communion-esque thing I suspect. Anime does like to do interesting re-interpretations of Christian faith traditions after all. With that way that all developed and assuming the war doesn't go sideways I could see the various countries involved centralizing to a certain degree with Pride as the Empress. It'll be interesting to see if a S3 happens that covers the war. These random isekais that aren't big name like Slime don't get that far too often but it does happen occasionally.

Im confused about people saying this season was lackluster. Yeah Cedric is annoying but I love watching Pride browbeat him into realizing his faults... yes I wish we got to see at least a skirmish... but it was nice to have a slower pace and see the characters being actual people. I loved seeing things NOT just go her way. When she opened up to stale? Oof! That was some good stuff! This was a great season in my opinion! I kept re watching the episodes because I couldn't wait a week...

Whelp. Cliffhanger devil strikes again. I agree with everyone that this season was a step down from season 1. Pride never really shined in the ways we saw during those episodes. The Cedric arc dragged and not ending on a successful battle is anticlimactic. The art is still gorgeous and the animation is consistent. We need a season 3 that really shows her off because I am a fan of Pride-sama and there's better to come.

I guess I should have noticed last week when they mentioned the Blood Oath, but it took me until today to realize that the Kingdom of Chinensis was a religious kingdom with Yohan basically being the Pope of their religion. Pride sure did a great job convincing the people of Chinensis to fight. I love the contrast between Pride versus Tiara and Stale's reaction to her Blood Oath . I love how nervous she started getting the moment she saw Arthur's face Her dread when Stale told her he would tell the news to the commander of the knights, was priceless. And Rodrick, of course, was understandably pissed . I bet Pride's main concern, at that time , instead of the war, is how her parents will react after it. With her Blood Oath thing, she lost any future right to criticize Tiara getting involved in the future. Interesting, so in the main story, thanks to Pride's actions Cedric's relationship with Yohan became unfixable, after all, he was the one who brought her army there, which then sided with Copelandii. So the words Pride said to Cedric before joining her troops will inspire him to achieve the growth he did in the original story, without having trauma as its fuel, just like she did with Arthur. It sure sucks that with the alliance formed and the troops ready, the season ended before the war even happened. Is there an OVA episode plan, or did they really pull a go and read the source on us? Because it feels that this conflict can be wrapped in a single episode if necessary. If that's the case, it sure affects my overall score for this season, but hey, at least we got this cool image of Pride.

i wonder how they’re going to handle the next villain, since it seems like the game’s direction has changed based on what Pride knows. i wonder... i mean, i have a suspicion they might make the OG Pride possessed her little sister and is pretending to be a soft kind girl while secretly scheming behind everyone’s backs tho that would be a pretty cheap way to do it since it’s such a cliché and honestly kinda boring lol hopefully they go with something more unexpected that can still genuinely surprise all of us in the next season. also, i kinda miss fighter Pride because she’s badass in combat, so i’m kinda disappointed that we didn’t get to see her fight at all this season
