It is actually pretty common trope. I can think of [spoilers beware of various shows/stories] BeheNeko where the elf wants to fuck the cat. MC is same world reincarnation but there was a hero or something like that got summoned from another world. The currently airing Living Lady had a hero summoned from earth from like a thousand years ago. that's what I know has anime adaptation but I feel like I run into that trope pretty commonly in light novels and manga.

I was definitely not expecting that and the surprise hit home like a brick to the face. So the “true hero” of legend is actually an OP isekai protagonist, huh? What a neat twist on stereotypical OP isekai protagonist story by having them be essentially a background character in the story’s world building while the actual cast are all characters who live in the aftermath of their existence.

Every week for both seasons I have just been on the edge of my seat. Well, he didn't really fight back hardly any. He got taken by surprise and after that it was all lore dump and him just kinda sitting there not fighting back or laughing at vorden. We'll see next episode if he's ACTUALLY out of his depth or not.

Also would like to point out Vordin never died and was probably way more used to his human form from at least that year with the hero vs Clevatess who only just left/assumed a human form for the first time. Whole journey time he was complaining about its limitations or struggling with it, even morphing more into his full form during the fight and failing.. plus being far away from his domain (I believe further than Vordin is from his own). Not sure if dark beasts can amass more power with time either but its plausible it would take centuries/millenia to get to full strength. I think fully manifested both actually full power would be a lot more even.
