I also thought of it as just a funny scene but there was an intepretation i found. It was that Ryueen making this deal for Katsuragi to join his class compares to the strength of ryueens class was being diluted as he is not a strong pawn. Or that Sakayanagi's group, Hosen's group, Ryueen's group, or Nagumo's group, were all weak and that Ayanakoji is the coffee and that "diluted three or four times over" meant that adding all these people in a group won't make them stronger but instead weaker signifying that Ayanakoji will be by himself and not in a group. Could be overlooking but I like to imagine the author doesn't put many useless scenes.

Ryuen seem to think Katsuragi is more valuable than he give himself credit for.
A lot of moving parts that I can’t really keep up fo most of it but I’m excited. The acting director talking to Nanase at the end and my immediate thought was that she is the White Room student. But I think he may just be using her through the bounty to get to Ayanokoji. He didn’t mention anything to indicate that she’s from the White Room

My (anime only) interpretation of the coffee scene is that adding water to coffee makes it weaker, so if it is actually a metaphor, Katsuragi is the water and Ryuen's class is the coffee

Perhaps it's just for our benefit from the writer to show that Koji doesn't rate Katsuragi highly, but it seems a bit heavy handed. We could just be reading into it too much and it could actually just be Koji zoning out haha (although that also feels out of character)

Its good that they still kept Kiyo's hand in bandages, I thought they will ignore it with future episodes, but to maintain such small details is genuinely good, which is further increasing my expectations.
And I have not ignore how sneakily kiyo added water in the cup before, too.

But then I hear (disclaimer: I'm anime only) later volumes started involving and introducing more characters besides those 25, so now the anime had to retcon and pretended we always had 40 students (39 now that Yamauchi has fucked off) in the class.

If you are asking about 40 students per class, it's on ep1 of current season, where they have show 39 seats, with a gap of 1 seat for the expelled Yamauchi.

This is still supposedly an elite school, if you have good grades, you have good grades. They also seem to nurture parasocial behaviour which isnt going to land well in an actual corporate environment because nobody likes a backstabby coworker, underling or boss but I guess thats just to make the story fun.
And the elephant in the room of course *this isnt college* and having peaked in highschool without an actual degree is of questionable utility *unless you are a nepobaby anyway*

Katsuragi is basically a lame duck in Class A ever since being disgraced after last year's survival island exam and overthrown by Sakayanagi as class leader a result.
Sakayanagi saving him from getting expelled last season probably felt like adding insult to injury for him.
So Ryuen saw an opening and made the swoop to recruit Katsuragi over.

It looks like we'll finally start the exam next episode! The build up for it was quite long, but that's not a bad thing, quite the opposite, because so many different actors with different goals makes me excited to see how Ayanokoji will handle it.
Kiryuin had a great introduction in today's episode; I'm definitely looking forward to her future appearances.
Besides, Ayanokoji diluting his coffee during the meeting made me laugh hard. What made him do that? Hahahaha!

So, Koenji was challenged to get 1st place by himself. But Horikita also told Ayanokoji to do the same, so here I think she is actually baiting Koenji. In this bait, Koenji would be able to get 2nd place but the 1st would be Ayanokoji. Then class D would have the 2 best positions and Koenji would need to collaborate in the next test

Im not sure I like the reveal at the end. I was actually hoping the real white room student would be someone we havent seen yet. A true wild card. Mainly because it would mean we would automatically get one more interesting character, but also because Im really tired of seeing Hosen and this basically guarantees he will be relevant again.
