The next exam looks exciting, especially with Sakayanagi and Ichinose's alliance, and with Ayanokouji likely going solo (though it'd be interesting to see him together with people from Class B). I wonder how Koenji will avoid the exam this time, since what he did last year won't yield the same results this time. As for Ike and Shinohara... Ike got what he deserved, I don't feel sorry for him at all. His actions led to this outcome. By the way, did Matsushita and Nishino appear in previous seasons? This special examination rules for forming a small group seems so specific in encouraging boys to form a mini-harem: - 3-person group - must have at least 2 girls ("2/3rd must be girls") - 4-person group - at least 2 girls ("50% must be girls") - 5-person group - at least 3 girls ("50% must be girls") - 6-person group - at least 3 girls ("50% must be girls") Seeing Ike and Shinohara dilly dally makes me want to summon Sein from Frieren and shout "HURRY UP AND DATE ALREADY" As a result of them not being honest with themselves (but mainly Ike to blame), Shinohara has ended up teaming with someone else. Ayanokoji will now have to figure out how to motivate Ike to prevent him from dragging everyone down due to this unexpected NTR. So far we've had Ishizaki and Matsushita approached Ayanokoji to form a team, but why do I get the feeling the two class leaders Sakayanagi and Ichinose will also try to get Ayanokoji to join their mini-group? Besides benefitting their respective classes, with Ayanokoji in the team, they also get to also kick Ryuen in the teeth. Matsushita we've seen before. She first appeared in the second-last special exam near the end of season 3, when she teamed up with Ayanokoji for that math solving segment. It was then that she discovered Ayanokoji is actually smart, and told him if Ayanokoji is deciding to reveal his skills, then she'll also no longer hold back her own academic skills to help the class. Nishino is a new character I think. We're now seeing more of Class B (formerly Class C) students outside of Ryuen's inner circle interacting with Ayanokoji. In fact, this is the first time I've ever seen Hiyori teaming up with her classmates for the purpose of tackling the special exam. Though she, Ishizaki and Albert seem to be moving independently from Ryuen. Ishizaki and Albert have really ended up being Ayanokoji's buddies ever since Ayanokoji whacked them badly back in season 2. Koenji being Koenji, he'll probably come up with the most unexpected teammates. I'm going to go with Mi-chan (Wang Mei-Yu) just based on that scene where he carried her like a princess when she nearly fell down the stairs. lol

To sum it up, ~~everyone wants Kiyotaka's D~~ Kiyotaka harem magnet doesn't discriminate between gender... Chiaki glow up looks hella fine. No way that Koenji ~~begs~~ wants to partner with Kiyotaka?! Welp, since Kiyotaka intend to solo I bet Koenji will solo too and become top 30% without an issue... I'm sure Satsuki likes Ike too and just team up with Komiya and the gang out of spite to make Ike feels jealous. If this Komiya guy is as good boy as Ishizaki said, can't blame Satsuki if she ever fell for him though. Arisu looks so sad when Honami tells her she will be put on the spot if all classes gang up on her. ~~Please~~ Don't bully my disable girl, Honami!

Have to say I do enjoy scenes that don't involve Kiyotaka, especially the last one. I know he's the protag, but nice to see others interacting without him. Don't know if this is something I've only just noticed but has always been the case but some of the hair shots this season look really rough, literally, the edges dont look sharp. Noticed it in the final conversation, my eyes kept being drawn to both girls hair.

This was a great episode, really enjoyed it. I’m especially happy that this episode focused on a wide range of characters, it gave screen time to a lot of people, even some of the non-major ones, which made everything feel more alive and connected. Now we’ve got Arisu and Ichinose forming a partnership, which is really interesting going into the exam, and it also feels like Ayanokoji might be going solo. That alone already sets up a lot of tension and possibilities. It also feels like there’s still a lot we haven’t seen yet. Characters like Nanase haven’t had much focus recently, and even Yagami, we haven’t really seen him since episode 2. I’m very curious how he’s going to come back into the story, because it feels intentional. But yeah, overall this season is really cooking. I’m genuinely enjoying it a lot so far.
