He doesn't have greed in the same sense Mariabell or the nobles of this world has it. He wants stuff from his old world like food, comfort and cool things like the dungeon or magitrain. He is greedy in a "childlike" or carefree way. The fact that the inventions he and his subjects make generate a ton of money is just a nice byproduct that Mjöllmile and others care about. Also dreaming about peace and being left alone in a world where that is not a reality is also a form of greed. In other words, Rimuru is greedy in a "good" way. That doesn't mean that he isn't greedy. However, he has ultimate skills so Mariabell will most likely not be able to manipulate him no matter what.

Virtually every conflict that results in combat is a result of an idiotic amount of over confidence. Like sure, we've seen that she can be dangerous with the greed ability of hers. But each one of her plans involving Rimuru as blown up in her face, and she still feels confident about her choices, it's laughable. It's at a point to where it feels like there is no tension. Early on in the series Rimuru was still growing stronger, and there were plenty of things stronger than him, and part of the fun of watching this show was seeing him gather his strength. However, now we are at that point that Rimuru is at the level of some of the strongest beings in existence. So now every conflict that results in combat feels nothing more than an annoyance, like a fly floating around your face. The fly poses no real threat, but having it so close to you is annoying.

What kind of pisses me off is that so far Rimuru doesn't have any reason to just kill him, so if he is, according to theories of other comments, just faking being mind controlled, he'll just survive this even though we, as an audience, probably already had enough of this guy. And if he's actually mind controlled, we still know something is up, and he'll also stick around. It feels like he is just literally there to taunt us for whenever he turns out to be the big bad.

I actually am really confused about Mariabel being there. She has told us multiple times that eliminating Rimuru is the goal. If she thinks Yuuki can take him, then the other two dudes should have been enough, if thats the best she has in her arsenal. Imo if you make a "Mastermind" take the field as an author, it should be in a desperate situation. But Mariabel has, geographically and metaphorically speaking, a lot of room to source talent for this fight. So why is she here?

That's the basic problem with Slime, these post Clayman villains just aren't cutting it with their like one trick basic bitch schemes so when the OP brats of Tempest no sell them they're left flapping in the breeze. And not like Clayman was that high a bar either but well he at least had several layers going on. And if his actual schtick (mind controlling puppets) had been allowed to work would have been truly fearsome.

Speaking of stomping, they made a really big deal about the defense mechanisms of the place and then basically steamrolled them. They could have probably made this easier by simply preparing to fight them and then triggering the defense mechanism on purpose. The only thing why this couldn't have worked is if the defense would have actually shut down the door. And at that point they could have gone with Shions plan to bust it down.

He also wouldn't abandon Milim subjects to an enemy. Milim is his friend and ally, he's going to act to protect and preserve the ruins. He is also aware of Mariabels mind control powers - he likely feels he needs to free Yuuki, he sees him as a threat to Tempest, but he also likely associates Yuuki to the other world kids who he cares for - there's a redeeming factor. Rimiru won't know what was Yuuki under control and not to draw the line to end him here.

Yeah that is why. He thinks if he isn't scary and thought to be too strong he can have peace with everyone but its the exact opposite in reality. Because existing powers don't realize his true strength they see him as a rising threat which needs to be eliminated before it gets too strong and so he is constantly under attack and the would-be victim of schemers trying to prevent him from getting too strong; whereas if he was open about his power and the fact that he isnt a rising power but already an unbeatable existence humans cant overcome they would be forced to attempt peaceful coexistence whether they liked it or not since there wouldn't be an alternative.

Orrrr the entire world would view him as a threat and would all be too terrified to do with business with him...and would view just confronting him ASAP with violence as their only option lest they be completely subjugated. The people who have gone after him so far have essentially been flies buzzing around him. And he's been able to mostly avoid collateral damage. Not showing his hand has been prudent and has avoided unneeded destruction and suffering. Also he has no interest in being a despot. And if he revealed the overwhelming strength of both him and Tempest then all the other nations would basically be assuming "Okay...so he's going to try and rule all of us, isn't he? Guess it's life or death then." He doesn't want that. He just wants to chill with everyone.

Lets start with the most basic, what do you think the writer wants us, the audience, to feel right now? I think it's obvious the writer is trying to create tension and get us excited for this fight. There are multiple episodes building up to this. So, how many of us thinks Rimuru is in the tiniest bit of trouble? Even ignoring the meta knowledge that main character isn't going to die and the show will be over this way, just based on what we know Rimuru is capable of, we know he's not in any trouble. What have they shown us that this won't be a stomp? Nothing. It doesn't matter that maybe they have tricks up their sleeves to make this not a complete stomp. The expectation of Rimuru stomping is based on what we've seen before. The expectation of the opponent being able to put up a fight is based on nothing. It's bad writing because it's a piss poor build up to this fight. A proper build up should make us question who will win, not question how big of a stomp this will be. It doesn't matter whether we will eventually be proven wrong because what matters is how we feel going into the fight.

The point was if they thought of anything from Stop rimuru teleporting, and if they had what is it, we don't know but we may find out in the next episode because the sequence just started.. if that will be effective or not which we would find out but that's not the point. You seems to rant and make up your own scenarios without actually reading what we are discussing in this particular thread. Of course you can rant as long as we want but do it somewhere it's relevant.

The original comment which started the thread was Greed plan was good on paper, but it fails if Rimuru just remembers he can open a portal back home and call reinforcements. There is no way to isolate him unless they manage a way to block that magic. And there was no indication they did anything towards that effect. And the comment you posted was a dumb argument on that Note. Which perfectly justify my own comment which was after that.. in the same context.. To pick a fight against Tempest in the first place, it's already a bad idea. And why did that happen? Bad writing. Not having a good enough plan to win the fight is bad writing. Even if they win the fight, they pissed of Milim. So even if they win, they will still lose. So why would they do that? Bad writing. And they know Rimuru is friends with Veldora. Gee, I wonder what happens if they kill Rimuru. The entire thing is nonsensical. It's only happening because of bad writing. What I previously said was just a different way to show you the bad writing because you don't believe it is. Bad writing is central to what we're talking about.

In this particular scene it seems like he was preparing to face her because even if he runs away he would have to deal with her eventually. Even if we ignore that, in the previous episode they made plans about how they are going to lure the enemies in this expedition and deal with them, so all of this is actually already anticipated from his perspective. I'm not actually seeing your point here dude ? What "Smart" thing he was supposed to do here? (As we were talking about this instance for this comment thread)

I think she's the cour villain, the arc villain is her grandfather. He's know to the world as a hero, was strong enough to lead in Luminous' church. And knows her true identity. He's in control of the East, Mariabels acts on her own but reports to him. I suspect her defeat to Rimiru is what unifies the western nations - in a war with him. And it's him who is the full arc villain for Rimiru to defeat, where perhaps far more of his strength will actually be needed to fight.

Honestly, I'm disappointed that she confronted Rimuru directly. I guess she's just too confident with her manipulation power? Cause they've been building her as this ultimate schemere, so I thought she'd put another scheme again rather than be too direct. I mean, they've never shown her to be someone strong (unlike Hinata), so direct battle like this would definitely be heavily one sided (as usual lol). But let's see, maybe her scheme is more about the Chaos Dragon since everyone was very surprised on that.

Last episode, she said this was a "do or die" moment. Basically, Godzilla threshold has been reached... quite literally, seeing the Chaos Dragon they dropped as a DISTRACTION. And the way Maribel was talking, it sounded like she was going to mind control Rimuru and that was only possible if she got close. Remote mind control would be insanely bonkers OP, so yeah, she would need to confront him directly. Killing Rimuru. was the backup if control wasn't possible. Still, it's pretty nuts to unleash the Chaos Dragon infront of the Destroyer, and then roll up to the splash zone.

Does she think she has a chance against Rimuru? Well yes, cause Maribel is extremely overconfident. In her eyes, everyone she wants to control has been controlled, no one has shown signs of rejecting or resisting her Greed skill. So she's now overconfident that as long as they have a hint of Greed she can take control of them. To her, Rimuru must be filled with Greed, after all he is not only a monster but also attempting to 'control the world'. She's entered the main stage because at this point she truly believes there is no chance she can't control Rimuru, only that it might take a bit longer cause he's stronger. She has no idea about Raphael nor his other three Ultimate skills.

Because that's the world knows. Orc disaster? Youm killed it. 20k Soldier's ? Veldora. Killed a Demon lord, oh it's the weakest one and the human know how weak he was. Fight with Hinata the saint.. it's a stalemate. Tempest is a Propoganda mechine, none of his actually actions which are indeed unbelievablyOp ( bringing dead back, killing all 20k people, having 4 ultimate skills ) are known to the world outside of a few individuals.
