The problem with season 3 is that a third or half of airtime of the meeting episodes were filled with completely unnecessary flashbacks and rehashing of things already mentioned just minutes ago, as if the animators were just desperate to fill up episode time. None of that happened in this episode. No flashbacks, no rehashing of things already mentioned before, just all new content. That is how you do a proper meeting episode.

If they wanted to, they could get into some rather dark and interesting themes here. Like what happens if some legal genius frames Rimuru for a crime and has him thrown in prison? How will Souei's secret service answer to the law? And the potential for racism. Is it possible for a hardworking orc to become a judge? Are the dumb but strong races relegated to menial labour? Does this impact their standard of living and could it be used by an outside force to sow division in the country? Given the light hearted nature of the show, I doubt it will go there, but it certainly could be interesting nonetheless.

Like if somehow Rimuru or Veldora strayed from their path, what could they even do? For one thing that's what an agreement or contract is all about, apart from the fact that they wouldn't add a law that they wouldn't abide by, this isn't about the enforcer being weaker (since you can just have many enforcers). Since, it would be the same thing in the human society, most judges are weaker (not counting Judge Dredd). This is to do specifically with monster mentality that they don't "respect" someone weaker than themselves so they don't accept the punishment. And if they do go on a rampage, well I imagine the same thing that happened to Veldora and Milim in the past would happen again.

It's not so different from how the real world works. Rimuru and his council will be the powerful aristocrats running the nation from behind the scenes. They will naturally be above the law for the most part, barring a few token legal concessions for comedic hijinks. "Democracy", "Rule of Law", "3 branches" etc. will all apply to the common people of the nation so they have a veneer of "equality" keeping them mostly happy & balanced - and keeping the humans staying & visiting Tempest feeling safe there. Two big differences are that monster birth rates are pretty high so they'll likely never run out of a work force & tax base, so they'll never be forced to import foreign labor.. and that Rimuru & his council are primarily interested in the well-being & harmony of everyone around them, rather than being purely profit/conquest driven.

I kind of feel like the best option for them would be to build a democratic civil society, but with a separate organization of powerful beings who are not directly tied to that civil government. The civil government does not get to dictate what Rimuru gets up to on his own, or prevent him from asking and receiving help from his friends, it only gets to decide what state resources are applied toward.It could basically create a separation between the management of Tempest as a nation, and Rimuru's various side hustles. "Church and state," as it were.

I can get what he's going for, but it's rooted in flawed human principles and based on an assumption that people, by and large, are equal (at least in strength). Yet he's in a world of magic and monsters where the natural inequality between humans, monsters, and even between monsters themselves is absurdly varied and high. A human legal system like the American one (which he's trying to build, it seems) cannot possibly work in such a scenario. It'd work for a human-only society like the Council, but he'd really need to look at something better for Tempest. Personally I think he's better off just establishing an aristocracy/oligarchy with various constitutional forms needed to ensure that descendants are appropriately trained in their fields and positions, while maintaining sole executive power in himself and a selected set of governors acting on his behalf. He does need to have some level of planning for if/when he and the others die, but for the most part reserving the bulk of the power for the people who play the biggest role in forming the country and protecting it is only reasonable over wtf he's currently doing.

Talking episodes are a big part of Slime Season 3 just made them horrible to watch I guarantee you that you can switch to the eng dub and just listen to it while doing something else, and it will be the exact same experience The first half of Season 3 is just a glorified audiobook. There's reason why the 2nd half of season 3 and season 4 so far hasn't had any complaints about the talking heavy episodes Downplaying the criticisms as just "people want action" is sticking your head into the ground, especially since the animation for the fights isnt that good
