I'm glad we got to learn about Neron straight away in this episode, rather than her backstory being lead to and she'd be hostile without us understanding why.  Growing up in that environment I can see why she'd feel that way about men, it was gross what her parents were doing and the way those guys were behaving. Oogami is going to be good for her because he'll be acting like another uncle/father around her.  It was nice to see Oogami in action, he was at such ease taking care of them, he probably could have taken them out whilst studying lol.

So when Mitsuoka was being interrogated by her kidnapper, he was saying his client told him she had the secret to whatever new drug her father's working on. Then he mentions visiting her uncle's ramen shop, and starts trash talking it. Then we get the flashback of her going to her uncle's ramen shop as a little kid, and now she works there and it's one of the only places she can find any solace. Wonder if the ramen shop might play an integral part to the story? Like maybe she unintentionally hid the secret formula or something like that when she was a kid or something? Or maybe her Uncle might know some things going on behind the scenes and that's why he left "rich society"? Watching that scene play out for some reason reminded me of Men in Black 2, where there were clues hidden to the main girls identity in the pizza shop she worked at.

I get that he's an unrealistic superhuman assassin, but I'm surprised that he's able to make the same athletic moves to jump around and climb in his kid body so effortlessly. I mean, like in Dragon Ball Daima, even Goku and gang experienced a huge disconnect with the capability of their kid bodies, and had to go through multiple episodes to get used to the new body - and even then, the power level is only a fraction of the adult body, which makes sense. But here Oogami's just doing exactly what he has been doing perfectly. I get that he had been training since middle school, so even his middle school form is a formidable killing machine, but surely there should be a steep gap between an adult body that has been trained and refined for 20+ more years and his current one. This doesn't take anything away from my enjoyment of this anime BTW, in fact I'm enjoying it a lot more than I expected!

Noren sure has it rough, huh? It's cute how passionate she is about her uncle's ramen. Juzo can have some with garlic, Nekota! Garlic never killed anyone!* Her verbally murdering poor Juzo was hilarious. Nice to see them get along better now. Him hopping up that transmission tower was every man's dream. Absolutely insane shot he made from there. Extremely powerful handcart and protractor pack too. *vampires don't count

Ogami may be a legendary hitman, but he's also discovered now that he's a middle schooler...that he just genuinely enjoys studying! And he's even got Takada and Baba who are fonder of him now, even if he still feels out of place interacting with middle schoolers as an old man. But despite that, for the sake of returning to his original body, he's got to become friendly with Noren Mitsuoka, a girl of impeccable beauty, intelligence, wealth, and Engrish skills....and who cuts him down to size the minute he tries talking to her. One girl managed to fell the legendary hitman in two seconds by calling him a "creep!" Ogami is just another in a long string of guys rejected by Noren, so there's nothing he can really do about it, until as fate would have it he walks into a ramen shop where she's employed! At least she looks happy and enthusiastic there. Noren might be rich, she might have great genes as a half-Canadian on her MILF mom's, side, but she doesn't want any of it. Would you if you were literally a kid propped out there as marriage material for older men to leer at and treat you like you an adult? Her only solace was her uncles' ramen shop where she now works and fully intends to inherit. You can't beat that passion. If nothing else, Ogami's platonic old man vibes seem to endear him to Noren somewhat, especially when he validates her dream. This might not make them friends, but at least they've opened up to each other! Aaaaaand then she gets kidnapped. And it's only episode 2! This looks like a job for Ogami the Hitman, and he gets to flex yet again how little his skills have dulled by his de-aging. Ugh, did the kidnappers have to be creeps to Noren too? So I'm assuming the new medicine that Noren apparently has the answer to from her families' pharmaceuticals is the same one that de-aged Ogami? Not that Noren knows anything about her dads' work, but apparently there's this vague understanding that she's somehow important to it. Though the thing that gets to her more is someone insulting/threatening her uncles' shop. These guys are lucky Ogami is off the clock, which means he's going with a no-kill run at the moment, otherwise they'd all be dead. But even so, he's absolutely efficient and effective in shooting all of them and mowing them down as he makes his escape with Noren. Let that teach them to appreciate food served to them AND how to treat a lady! Ogami's going to play dumb about saving her, but at least it seems like they're closer and he'll get ramen out of it so it's a win-win! The ED is beautifully animated, like OP level animated, with the duality of Ogami, his high school life and connection to his adult life intersecting, and still being the most efficient assassin he can be on full display.

When the only part about school he enjoys is the part most kids hate the most. It really *is* a geneartional gap there. ngl wasn't expecting her to be working at a ramen shop. Imma just going to preemptively guess that there's family drama going on there (not that it takes a genius to make that guess). It's also making me crave ramen. That would've been such an aura farming moment for Noren as she threatened him if he didn't have such a dumb ramen-coma look on his face. Uh, why tf are the potential marriage partners introduced to her all adults? (Either that or freakishly tall kids, but I doubt that since she's supposed to be tall for her age). Like, there's got to be age-appropriate botchama's to introduce her to, right? Don't know if it's good luck (that he's there to help) or bad luck (that it happened) that girls keep getting threatened/kidnapped around him. MC when faced with an heir to a pharmaceutical giant: "I sleep" MC when faced with an heir to a really good ramen shop: "Real sh\*t" Hmm, his study guide might have his name on it, wouldn't it? Wonder if that'll be a flag, or if they'll just assume Noren borrowed a classmate's book. Wait, except they saw him. Hmm, lots of loose ends in that case.

This show was surprisingly funny. And lord do I love how they keep highlighting how*he’s too old for these kids*. He’s creepy because he’s awkward…because he’s too damn old for these kids. I think it’s pretty clear he’s going to end up with some fatherly affection towards Noren, but that’s it (thank fuck). Ogami enjoying studying because he didn’t get to finish school is also a nice touch. He’s excited about learning. It’s very endearing.
