Hah, I had this very conversation with a friend how it's hard to enjoy any series that tries to present the US as a competent world power after a major world changing event (monsters invading, apocalypse happening, magic becoming real, etc). We also talked about how you could remake Captain Planet with real life people as the villains and not even have to make up stuff about them. They are literally worse than the made up villains from the show in the 90s.

Have to admit I understand and agree. Won’t stop watching for that, but even when I started this episode I felt a strange reluctance and couldn’t say first identify why. As I do enjoy the show overall but just found myself feeling apathetic and not eager to watch at all. And realized as they started to fill in his background to make him even worse that I really dislike this villain and would like him defeated and gone. Have to admit I’m also not crazy about some aspects of the protagonist as well, so overall feeling a lot of apathy until we get past this and hopefully see some better growth out of the MC.

Oh lol, they didn’t actually leave that room, they just ducked down so they couldn’t be seen? It wouldn’t surprise me if Sagami caused all of that in order to improve his position. So that’s Hephaestus’ ability, huh. Sugoi! Somehow not the first time I’ve seen a mecha show with a printer to make new parts for it. So that’s how they’re gonna fix up Yukio, huh? Everyone’s gonna pedal the electricity back, then. Oh, lovely… Is it gonna hit Ares with a fireball so powerful the upgraded defense doesn’t matter? Holy shit , yeah the upgraded defense did fuckin’ nothing . Ah fuck, right after Ao spent so much to defeat Ares… Damn… So close, yet so far. Let’s go! This is some lovely character development for Tetsuo.

It’s kind of pathetic how Sagami’s made being a jealous little hoe his entire personality. He’s groomed his little team of brats into believing his bullshit too. They keep spouting all this “save the world” crap but then go around killing humans. I guess Sagami wants to be king of a frozen wasteland devoid of all life. Ao and the big fella did well curb stomping those 3 brats even if they got taken down by Sagami. I hope Tetsuo beats the eyepatch off that dude in round 2.

Huh so the old boss lady knew Sagami, His whole saviour complex seems like he wanted it for glory rather than anything else, Ao and Land of Men went full scorched earth on those Kaijus and tamers, they both looked so cool Damage to a Kaiju also affects their tamer??? Our boy Tetsuo is not alone, it was so wholesome to see everyone else helping him with the power and repairs Ao looked so majestic here, Child of The Sun looked so beautiful Oh no things are looking bad, So there IS telepathy involved! HECK YEAH TETSUO AND YUKIO ARE HERE!!! Im so glad to see Tetsuo trying to open his heart once again, Man this ep was so much fun, it was so satisfying to see Ao and Land of Men take those Kaiju guys down and they might still be alive. Hercules seems way too op but luckily Yukio and Tetsuo are here now. We might be getting that Kaiju and Mecha team up afterall, so hyped!!

And so the position was held until relieved. Huh. What's the plan? So, she recognises that unit patch. Indeed, those rumours ended up being true. And so, child soldiers. So, a trick. A ploy. Flying underground? And so that's one down. Uh oh. That look like it hurt. Still, that makes two. I mean yeah but you were still 3v1, skill issue tbh. Meanwhile, they managed to reach the evac point. Better patch up the mech for the next battle. So, they've got a foundry. Yeah, they're going to patch it up and probably get some upgrades too. Right. Time to conduct repairs. Gonna need a few tons of endo-steel structure and ferro-fibrous armour, probably replace that beam sabre in the other arm, and while they're at it might as well see what else extra they can jam into it, maybe use the extra parts lying around to make it bigger for more room for more stuff. One more left. Heat resistance? That's certainly inconvenient. So much for heat resistance... That went right through it. Oh... I guess they can just do that. And there hasn't been enough time to repair the mech yet. Infiltrate the Arctic region in Tokyo? I guess there has been enough time for repairs, because he made it just in time. And yep they managed to squeeze in some upgrades too. Damn, what's that they got on that right arm? Ooh, an axe. Time to... "Axe" him a question.

It's the Great Kaiju War! With Ao and Land of Men powered by the frustration of humans forcing conflict with other humans NOW of all times on Snowball Earth! Even if the numbers are against them, they won't give up! As if we didn't need more reason to hate Sagami, they not so subtly imply he basically had people killed so he could move up in the organization. And that was BEFORE he tried to turn people against Tetsuo. Should we really have trusted someone like this with children, who only saw those children as his means of surpassing Tetsuo? Makoto and Hephaistos try to out-smoke a fire bird, to their detriment, and Tamiya/Eros learn you can't beat Land of Men in a ranged fire contest! 2 down, one to go. Hagane is reunited with her little brother and Tetsuo is left with a 3D printer and spar Snowman model that they can use to repair Yukio...but should he? Does he have any right to fight? Should his priority be his own safety? What about what Sagami said to him? But right now, he's going to pour his effort and his legs to pedalling and bringing Yukio back. Ah, I see Nayuta had Ares' Predation Posture in his back-pocket...the ability to become super strong at the expense of losing its flight ability. Too bad Ao's Predation Posture, which basically summons a concentrated laser, easily makes a donut of Ares. Ao won! But she and Land of Men are so spent they don't stand a chance against Hercules! Especially when Sagami can apparently read their mind as he's slicing into them and beating the stuffing out of them! And anything the Kaiju feels, their user feels too! This is not good. But when they needed him the most...and the Boss' last stand to save Ao nearly gets her chewed on by Otoichi's Hermes...the Savior arrives to knock Otoichi/Hermes out and face Sagami! Which is JUST what Sagami wants, even if Tetsuo has worked up the resolve to openly face another human for the sake of the people he's opened his heart too! Time for Snowman Combat Form, Snowball Rampart, to take the stage with its mighty axe!

I was pleased to see Ao win the fight against the first three, but it was bound to not work that way for all of them. That concentrated final attack against Ares was beautiful. Good work by the bicyclist power team and Yukio getting him repaired and back into the fight so quickly. In some ways we're doing a power of friendship helps Tetsuo win sort of thing, not in any physical way but instead to keep his morale up which is still actually pretty meaningful.
