Nope, nope, nope. Keep painting a sad childhood for Sagami and I still have zero sympathy for him. The way Nadare bent her neck was extremely creepy. In the opening sequence, Nadare was shown right before the Smiling Kaiju. Furthermore, her master plan to sabotage the intergalactic spaceship soon coincided with the Smiling Kaiju freezing Earth. I believe most of us now suspect Nadare and the Smiling Kaiju have a contract with each other, don't we?

His parents were terrible but that's no excuse for all the crimes he and Nadare committed, especially for the sake of nothing more than his ego. Like, anyone who would go along with a plan to sabotage humanity's best chance at stopping Kaiju doesn't deserve to be a Savior, even if Tetsuo hates being a Savior. Lesson of the episode: "Don't listen to hot/creepy female researches when they convince you to become corrupt."

I actually thought his character was hilarious, though I didn't like him in a serious capacity because he's an ass, I figured he would end up joining the team, but after last episode's revelations he just needs to die, and the fact that Tetsuo still offered the proverbial olive branch is such an effing joke, and was just a horrible decision from a writing standpoint, or any view for that matter. The last episode ruined the entire series for me, I was enjoying it and now I don't want to watch it, even if "what's his face" gets killed off next episode after his crybaby backstory instead of joining up, it's Tetsuo's unforgivable decision that urks me. Tetsuo no longer deserves to be the protagonist, F that dingus!

This is deeply rooted in Japanese culture, brother. There’s a lot of animes that have this kind of forgiveness in order to restore balance and to stop this cycle of blah blah, blah blah blah blah. Honestly, this anime is 100% dropped. I’m giving it three stars. The animation is bad ass. The main female protagonist is bad ass, but I don’t wanna see another crybaby main character with crybaby antagonist who are just an attempt at Thanos.

In that vent was I the only one that relaize this dude was on a space ship for two years that was almost all women who wanted to bang him. His entire complaint about being "the savior" is solely because he's a Shinji. Anyone else likely would of been getting laid every day enjoying the finest food and living their best life. He was more conserned about internet trolls then the women next to him who wanted that D.

It's one thing for Tetsuo to make the attempt to understand/reconcile with Sagami. That is in character for him. But just like last time, when Tetsuo got hit with the full force of Sagami's hatred, it should have backfired again. As soon as MC-kun learned that his mission failed and all his crewmates were eaten alive by space-monsters because of this man's spite, Sagami should have been finished off. Some people you just can't make peace with. They refuse every attempt to negotiate in good faith. They have done atrocious things for petty reasons. They can't be forgiven, nor do they want it in the first place. They are just broken. And should be tossed aside.

Seems like people dislike disclosing more of Sagami's past, making it like whitewashing him. On the contrary, these made him even more pathetic (albeit a small bit of miserable) than he should be: he helped that Nadare to kill off his superiors, up to (almost) killing off humanity's last hope, all out of his jealousy; and even after he realized what had he actually done, he made no amends to his ways but just to live on with force, granting him zero redemption quality. He's such a sharp contrast to Tetsuo, who actually lists out "why it sucks to be The Saviour" and yet he still takes on the job, and his hesitation to hit Sagami even hearing he's related to his defeat (and loss of life) in space, Hell, he even says Sagami can take his title if he wanted, showing that deep down why Tetsuo is the hero everyone loves while Sagami isn't. I guess the two will go on separate ways next episode anyway, but at least Tetsuo needs to know there's someone behind the strings first.

It's more like we don't care and already assumed he was behind everything this could of been 5 minute have him confess to sabotaging the ship then get smacked for it. We didn't need the new evil science lady who likely a kaiju at all. The stakes don't need to grow or increase the earth is covered in meters of ice. 99% of the people are likely dead. The moment we got humanoid kaiju who can seemingly think and killed 99% of humanity the story was built enough for 12-13 epsiode.

No, as a matter of fact, I cannot sympathize with a man that would crash an entire plane full of innocent people just to kill one target. That's bad enough. But that this sin was committed just to gain a promotion is truly damning. Maybe, just maybe, if the superior officer was corrupt/incompetent and was deliberately holding back a solution that could save humanity... That still wouldn't excuse the other innocents killed alongside him. Sagami is evil. A parastic and completley irredeemable fiend that deserves nothing but death. It sucks that he had horrible parents. It's commendable that he was humanity's first "Savior" before Tetsuo stepped up, but the rest... Evil.

My god, as if he wasn't pathetic enough already, they literally got him crying for his mama and papa after being called a man at the peak of his life and being an oldhead beefing with someone way younger than him, lol. Writing's really shooting itself in the foot here making a bum like him having a direct hand in the main catalyst for the whole story that killed billions of people, not to mention Tetsuo wasting his worst exercise of talk-no-jutsu on him.

Those weren’t the only 2 options, lol. Detain him and talk to him in a cell or something later if that’s what you want to do. Don’t get out of your robot, get in the danger zone unarmed and have a life talk prioritizing his feelings when shit could still very much go down. He wasn’t even disagreeing with him after listening, he was appealing to him by saying he could have the title of savior. Defining a savior as “one who kills kaiju” as opposed to one who saves humans or something was also a super weird choice of words-especially considering their community has befriended a kaiju that just saved all their lives. Also, everyone is already on a level of maturity beyond Sagami by default because he’s in the negatives.

I suspected that Sagami was behind the explosion of the ship in the first episode, but I didn’t expect him to have been manipulated by an baddie alien. Honestly, I don't know what to think. On one hand, I'd like to see Sagami dead, but on the other, given his past (it bothers me to admit it, but it made me feel a bit of pity for him) and his strength, it might be better to use him to save the planet, thus also fulfilling his wish.

Honestly I'd be surprised if they can do anything else with Sagami, I feel like mentally and physically he's pretty much spent and Tetsuo just casually giving him the "Savior" title like it didn't matter was just the final blow to his sanity.

I'm glad someone else pointed this out. I just fucking loathe that myth whenever it's invoked. I know, I know, fiction, but still. I just hate it with a burning passion. No, we don't use our full capacities at any given moment, but that's because the brain is a complicated organ that has a great many 'functions.' It's a very resource intensive organ that eats up 20% of our energy while taking up 2% (or less) of total body mass. However, over the course of a given day you will probably use every part of your brain, at least once. It's just we don't use all those parts at any given time because they aren't needed at the moment. Activating your entire brain at the same time would just burn through all your blood sugar without helping you think-noggin through any given problem, yet alone develop ESP. I know, I know, "fiction," but it's fiction based on dumb ideas. And I just get grumpy anytime someone tries to invoke it, even as fiction.

For the love of god, we don't need to redeem the murderous madman. Boo hoo, sad childhood, doesn't excuse the death of thousands if not more. With that creepy neck bend I assume Nadare was a kaiju or was bonded to one, something that put her on the other side of the fight and she was just using Sagami. But again, that doesn't excuse his actions. I'm rather annoyed we have to wait at least another week to find out how Ao is doing.
