Obviously, we can see people still evacuate every time because it's unsafe, but the band kept playing until she brought the house down, and fireworks crew kept firing since she wasn't immediately wreaking havoc

Well, I'm pretty sure the property damage is actually high or significantly above average for a kaiju appearance. But definitely very low for a massive kaiju. I think you're mostly right, in that the public is a lot more intrigued by the kaiju than upset about tax payer dollars spent on repairs. It's relatively minimal in that sense.

Though I guess she sees Kuroe as Harugon's priestess, so maybe that's all fine. That said, it's hard to really predict where her crazy will take us. Given how she views Harugon, my guess is that she's going to 'give' Harugon to Minami and abandon her romantic claims, but Minami has to break up with Kuroe. Also, in retrospect, it's odd that no one asks / jokes about how Kuroe feels about Harugon kissing her boyfriend. To us viewers it's obvious, but like, if your friend's boyfriend gets kissed by a monster you think you'd at least tease them a bit. Even if you aren't Manatsu and crazily/correctly assign romantic intent to it.

(Honestly this has a surprising amount of fanservice for the kind of show it is...how many episodes have we seen Kuroe naked in? All of them!?) It's the Manatsu Harugon boob window that kills me lol.

I will say the fanservice parts are very naturally incorporated for the most part. No insane Rube Goldberg lucky pervert style shenanigans. It’s mainly Kuroe’s kaiju transformation ripping her clothes off which is just realistically what would happen, and in this episode Minami being flustered by his girlfriend’s boobs in casual wear.

That scene of Kuroe lazing around in her underwear with bed head immediately became her most relatable scene for me, lol. Also props to this show for being one of the few anime I’ve scene to actually depict a cute female character in a low effort, at-home, casual clothing appearance. I know it’s in line with the show’s overall themes and it already depicted the other girl with an “ugly” appearance sans makeup, but the latter is still a cartoony, more out there depicting of not being pretty. This episode felt a lot more realistic in that regard.
黒江が下着のままで寝癖ついたままゴロゴロしてるシーン、個人的に一番共感できたわ（笑）。それに、この作品は可愛い女性キャラを「気合い入ってない部屋着姿」で描いてくれる数少ないアニメの一つだと思う。作品のテーマに沿ってるし、もう一人の子もすっぴんで「ブサイク」な姿で描かれてたけど、あっちはどちらかと言うと漫画的な誇張表現だったからね。今回のエピソードはその点でもっとリアルに感じたよ。普通くん

I could maybe accept the boob window concept given her chest seems quite large and the costume probably doesn’t breath well, so it reduces discomfort, but she intentionally designed it to be where the costume’s crotch would be. I can’t be the only one went to the insane implications of such a design in a real costume like that.
