I want to discuss an implication from this episode. So during the fight, they mentioned that the Kaii was made from a Magical Girl. This episode, they mentioned how Sho wanted to test strong magic by using a few Magical Girls as test subjects. Which obviously implies that it was this experiment that lead the to Kaii from the last case. However, doesn't that also mean that if they would loosen the regulations of magic, there is a higher chance of actual Magical Girls mutating into Kaiis during their battles because they can't control the stronger magic? And while the show has been more light hearted fun, it seems to go into a darker direction and seeing that happen would completely change its general atmosphere.

Yes, that is the main fear people have. But what I was saying is that with all the information, it is likely that it could also turn the Magical Girls themselves into Kaii. And it's just not on their radar yet, because compared to us viewers, they don't have the information that the last Kaii was born from a Magical Girl. Of course, one could ask why the AST corporation would ignore that danger, but if they are only interested in profits, what is one Magical Girl turning into a Kaii, when 50 others can take care of Kaii more effectively? As long as they can make sure people don't know this is happening (and considering that there are usually not many witnesses as they are evacuated), this would be in line for people thinking about profits only. And that is not taking into account that a deregulation might also open other doors to make money from magic use. So point is that Magilumiere doesn't know that potential danger yet, because they don't know turning Magical Girls into Kaii is a possibility. And the few people who know this can happen don't care as it would still be more profitable to them if they get a deregulation as compensation.

The Tonomori incident culprit was after the deregulation of magic, a world less restrictive of magical girls, even if it meant inducing a man-made Kaii incident that put magical girls at risk. And the culprit? Sho Manao. Once upon a time Shigemoto was just a normal office worker doing magical girl engineering, Koga was his friendly and supportive superior, but even back then Shigemoto was a workaholic with perpetual bags under his eyes. Enter Sho Manao, who was assigned to assist him. Manao was brilliant, but the only thing he craved more than munchies and drinks was to see his research come to fruition, even if that meant using magical girls, genuine human beings, as guinea pigs whose lives amounted to how much money they could profit from. It's no wonder the dude ended up in prison. Koga wouldn't work with Manao, but he's still as committed to taking Magilumiere down and he and Kamakura ultimately only seek deregulation of magic. And Koga has a plan to help AST win in this battle of regulations: possibly new equipment that only Tsuchiba can use? Regulation vs deregulation...if left unchecked, de-regulated wide-spread magic could lead to the resurrection of a disaster-class Kaii. Which is why Magilumiere has to do their best with the Alice system and prove that it's worth making it widespread. But Koga will do anything to see HIS vision to fruition. And Kamakura? He's got Manao in his employee and they've got a man-made Kaii incubating and ready to be put out in the field! (Also, Manao? PICK UP YOUR FOOD!) Lily's back! To give Hibiki love advice to not waste any time snagging Sakae for himself! Use your paid time off for the sake of love, Hibiki! But she's also here for business because Miyakodo is planning to adopt the Alice System. At this point it's a race to see who wins public favor first, Magilumiere or AST. Is there a right choice between two organizations pursuing the same goal with different ideals/methods? What will Kana do now that she's caught in the middle of it? Hibiki and Nikoyama are now Magical Girl anime brothers, Koshigaya's Showa Old Man shtick doesn't win over Hibiki, and Iroha is the type to drink wine at a bar like a classy lady. This is Magilumiere! Is Akane ever not thinking of a business opportunity? She's telling Kana to go out on her own and start her own business. Man, Midorikawa is efficient! He's even figured out their next stage of battle: Tokyo Bay!

Manao was a real shitter from the jump, huh? Treating magical girls as guinea pigs because it's easier for the bottom line. And now he's got government backing too. Props to Midorikawa for not only scoring high-class Belgian chocolates for Lily but also nabbing key intel here. It's great seeing Lily again; LMAO at her immediately pressing Hibiki to seal the deal with Sakae. F for Koshigaya getting her Niko nicked.

Aoi is giving some fine advice on romance for Yamimori. It's nice to see him and Niko get along so well but Koshigaya is jealous, haha. Sho is an insane individual. So was he the one of the people who were responsible for the Kaii calamity event that happened years ago ? Even Koga is being manipulated and the real enemy knows that he's acting on emotions due to what happened between him and Shigemoto. Kana is having doubts about whether she's up for the task and the future that awaits everyone and Akane and Iroha are there to support her. Kaede is always resourceful. Damn, where does he get all those info. His information network is unimaginable. A nice set-up for the final battle that's about to happen. I guess they will wrap up the whole story with this season. I really don't want to see this end.
