I am actually kind of glad that they didn't turn Bo-chan into the enemy Kaii and just injected one into the barrier (where I assume it overwrote the magic, ate all the energy and is now using the barrier to take away the magic of the Magical Girls). But I am sorry, I have to take a step back because did the dude really say they combined a Kaii with a Magical Girl? What kind of weird Madoka experiments are some of these people running? And why? Let's see what Hibiki and Nikoyama can do. They still have two Magical Girls outside the barrier after all. That should help for something.

I guess there could have still be a possibility of Bo-chan surviving anyway considering they just trap it and don't outright destroy it. But I was kind of getting ready for them to have to fight it. And while this could have been interesting as well, I kind of like them showing that Bo-chan is "reformed" even outside of the barrier created to keep him controlled. I was thinking the same when he said Catherine. I wonder if it was the name of the Magical Girl or if it had a different meaning. Either way, still not really something that makes the situation better.

Sakae puts on quite the show with Igni, marching across the sign to "seal" him while also doing typical shrine maiden dancing! Look at the wonder of a tamed Kaii and also look at that fire in her hair! It totally compliments Igni amazingly! I'm glad to see Koshigaya repping how powerful Magical Girls are at holding their bladder even if...she really shouldn't have too. Tsutsumi you just couldn't leave well enough alone! Once the "show" is over, he hacks everything with a nearly impenetrable code to summon an Earth-class Kaii with magical and ancient mythic Kaii energy! It's Catherine No. 3! Sakae isn't just a Magical Girl for show! She also fights with talismans! Too bad it doesn't do much good against Catherine No. 3. In fact none of what they throw at it does much good. I assure you, Akane and Iroha holding hands during their dual transformation was totally necessary! Koshigaya finding out you can't always Leeroy Jenkins your problems without getting electrocuted sometimes. Tsutsumi really didn't want to take any chances, huh? Enhacning the barrier, dispelling Sakae's transformation, cutting off the other magical girls from their spells...this looks like the end for Sasa-Poyo. Where did Hibiki and Sakae's relationship begin? With her being the only one who tried to get him involved with others, even when he was so smart that it ostracized him from anyone but Sakae. Even working with her family, there was no one who enjoyed or understood the things he did, and he felt lonely. Which is why he wanted to join Magilumiere, to find people he could spend time with rather than continue to take advantage of his childhood friends' kindness. Do Tonomori Shrine Maidens become "grown-ups" at age 10 because that's when they first transform into their older Magical Girl form? Hibiki, you are NOT alone! Igni is there to save its master, and Nikoyama hacking into the barrier helped too!

Whoever is behind the magical power restrictions easening bill really means business huh. Tsutsumi failed at his job, so now we got a guy who probably hopes for some casualties at the festival as an argument for the new law. Fortunately Igni managed to get out of the barrier in the nick of time, plus Nikoyama hacked through the barrier to reach to Hibiki. Still, that's not going to be an easy fight...

Reminder that Koshigaya is just one big kid. I like that the sniper was waiting for his baseball game to end before getting to work, and specially that we won't have to Old Yeller the Igni. Quite like the classic way that Sake battles, I miss Twin Stars Exorcists so very much. Cool way to set up a barrier, Makino. That said, it was a bit laughable how ineffective the battle was. Igni came in clutch. Seeing Yamimori as a kid without the dyed hair and piercings caught me off guard.
