Honestly she's still kind of in trouble for the prison break because it's the first major crime she's committed in the kingdom (the prince could at least be construed as self-defense even if she assaulted royalty) and she also knows that she has to answer for it especially when she's effectively dating the top cop of the kingdom. Even moreso because of how much she's fallen for Jeffrey and feeling guilty for how she's compromising him. Though she's also thinking this not knowing that Hagl is going to be coming after her and she DEFINITELY does not want to get involved with them again. And protecting Nonna has to be the priority.

Hagl Intelligence doesn't do early retirement. Unless you get burned and killed, you work in the field until you get promoted to a desk or are otherwise judged unfit for fieldwork. Those who aren't promoted to administration are then used to teach the next generation of spies. Then they serve until the big boss decides they're too old to be useful and grants them a pension. That's why MC had to fake her death to get away - resignation is seen as treason and punished by death.

That's a very inefficient way of running a spy organization. Even most gangs, cartels, and terror orgs let you age out of the org! While most spy orgs use enough compartmentalization and plausible deniability (relevant since clearly in this show's case she would operating without diplomatic cover) to make this issue irrelevant. Though most people in intel attest they can call you back to do 'favors' for them at any time, that's still quite different from not letting you retire. In fact, having spies filter into civilian jobs semi permanently after retirement is not even seen as a bug of intelligence agencies, but a feature--it is key to their operations. The most plausible travel agency to use as a cover is a real travel agency ( or at least it was when travel agencies were still a thing, lol). Heck, most backdoor diplomacy between North Korea and the US for years went through some random Korean guy in New Jersey who owned a laundromat or pizza shop or something like that. This was even more true in the Victorian era world shown in the anime. In fact, back then, most intelligence was private subcontracted, amateurish, and done through everything from criminal organizations (IJA used the Yakuza), emigre/refugee groups (too many to count) , private detective agencies (the Pinkertons), old boy and patronage networks (political machines), and sources turned or placed in key areas by military intelligence officers using a mix of sex, drugs, money, and blackmail.

What purpose would there be in doing anything sinister to an agent's family? All agents recruited as children cut ties with their families on the day they are recruited. Because of that, in order to murder Chloe's parents for being Chloe's parents, you'd have to breach Hagl Intelligence's secure archives just to figure out what the original name and home address she had when she was Nonna's age even were, and if you can do that there are far more important things you could be looking up with that access.

At least unlike the 7th loop, the guards made a better attempt at searching a woman. Who would have guessed a hairpin would be used as a saw? Meanwhile, many other cases women in anime can get away with just stuffing things under their skirt to pass inspection. Even in a world where all combatants (and guards) are male, it's pretty silly no one takes a look. I'm going to get a hate for this, but I think Victoria should not save the servant. If Jeff didn't bother to learn about him, she wouldn't be any wiser. So it some sense it is using the fact he he diligent to cause headaches for him. I feel pity for the brother. But he is simply not worth the risk she takes. She thought she knocked him out several episodes ago but was spotted anyways. Victoria is not completely immune from detection.

Proud mama LOL Ah this looks bad We know that Victoria is pretty skilled but to figure out the patrolling patterns just by listening once is some gaming stuff, I really liked the espionage rescue mission and im glad that Victoria was able to save the girl and her brother from the last eps, there's some silver lining here atleast But it looks like that old guy recognized Chloe instead of Nonna like I thought, I just hope Vicoria can deal with this.

Ironic that the very same woman who put Carl in jail eventually broke him out of it. Balanced as it should be . I reckon Jeffrey would be pretty conflicted should he discover the person responsible was right in front of his very eyes. On one hand, helping an attempted murderer out of jail was a crime but on the other hand he understood why she did it. Oops, her past infiltration mission ended up biting her in the arse. Thought the investigation by Ashbury would lead to Hagl finding out about Vicky but it came from another angle. Their confrontation wouldn't be pretty.

Some rich bastard assaulted his sister and ruined her life. And when he went to take revenge Vicky got in the way and as a result he ended on death row. When she learned the motives behind all this Vicky remarked just how unfair the whole situation is. She probably feels guilty for interfering and getting him caught. The consequences of her actions. So she's dealing with it for her own peace of mind

It's such a big deal that Nonna can trust Victoria's words and stayed home on her own for numerous nights. I thought it might be a foreshadowing, but I'm glad it wasn't.  I also like how Nonna purposely took on the role of the witch so that Victoria could be the princess instead.  So it sounds like if Victoria had introduced herself as Chloe to Jeffrey, she might have fallen harder for him lol. That moment between themselves was really sweet, so I can imagine it'd have especially moved her with her name.  I was surprised she was making future plans with Jeffrey that far off, but then the last scene hits with the guy who's like a brother to her revealing he knows where she is. Looks like they won't be going to Cadiz anytime soon.

The scenes flowed together much better this episode! I admit that I was about as equally invested in the kids play as i was the breakout haha this show perfectly balances the cute family fluff with the spy espionage Also that wig was way too similar to her regular hair colour, I understand it might have been done for the viewers to know its still her but I am raising an eyebrow I will say i am a little disappointed in Vickey already getting caught, but in fairness she did leave the organization and not even cut her hair differently, however wasn't she already in disguise the first time she ran into the character? maybe im remembering wrong

Witch Nonna was delightful, Clark better watch out in the future. Vicky going for the jailbreak seems incredibly risky for her undercover life especially since it took a good dozen visits or so. It was nice to see her strut her spycraft some more, but anything going wrong could have spelled doom for both her and maybe even Nonna back home depending on how a worst case scenario might have played out.

Victoria's personal ethics means she can't ignore Carl's situation, even if it means she can't be there with Nonna because she has things she has to do...but so long as they get to eat dinner together, Nonna is A-okay! She trusts Vicky. Victoria brings out her many faces: "Kate," a spirited redhead with a mole trying to elope with her love under his wifes' nose. Or she's a distraught lover desperate to spend as much time with her boyfriend on death's row as she can. Or she's trying to help her brother elope with his fiancee. And she nailed EVERY role. I hope Jeffrey never finds out that some of the guards felt up Victoria's chest or saw up her skirt while giving her a full body search...and it looks like some of them enjoyed it, pervs! When she's not orchestrating a jailbreak, Victoria is teaching Nonna and Clark language via fun skits! She even gets to be the princess to Clark's prince and Nonna's evil witch! Of COURSE a spy would have a saw hidden in her boot heels. Nonna killed it as the witch! But she might be willing to lose for a play, but she won't let anyone steal Vicky from her in real life! Man, the marquess is a scumbag for the amount of women whose life he's ruined, especially when Carl's sister all knows them by name. Jeffrey taking his ladies out for dinner! And good on him to confirm that Victoria doesn't have to be afraid of getting charged for harming the prince...even while she's committing crimes as they speak. Jeffrey truly adores Victoria...and she does in turn. It felt like she would've been fine with more than just a "good night" from Jeffrey (maybe even a kiss?) though it makes her feel even more guilty...that she has relationships built on a fake name that she can't bear to part with, that she's found happiness when she knows her colleagues haven't, and knowing all the falsehoods that surround who she is now. Dang Carl, you nearly blew it! Good thing a fakeout makeout is successful! And thank goodness it was fake, she hasn't even properly kissed Jeffrey yet. Maid Victoria! She looks amazing in anything! Well, all's well that ends well. Carl and his sister escape to freedom, Victoria gets to dress up as a princess (and Jeffrey approves!), the kids' play is a success, and Victoria is even planning a vacation with Jeffrey to pay respect to her families' spirit which, from her, means everything. But she still feels guilty for giving the knights more work, especially Jeffrey, and she knows that she'll have to answer for her crimes at some point...even as the Kingdom of Hagl finally tracks her down. Imagine being noticed for her job as "Carol" the maid!

I didn't expect Victoria to do all that to rescue the man, I figured he was just going to die and it would weigh on her conscience. The prison escape was really thrilling and I didn't know she had most of her spy stuff still, like a shoe with a hollow heel and a skinny hacksaw she could roll up. I wonder if she's going to go even further with this, like helping the women the Marquess raped take revenge on him somehow. I think Jeff doesn't personally really want to see the man put to death but it seems he's caught in his job and more obligated to find him. I imagine the man will probably try to move to another country although I'm not so sure how he can if they check him over like they did Victoria.

Vicky gonna be a lady of the night for a while sounds like So she is going to save the guy who tried to murder the shitbag. Not surprised, she probably feels responsible for getting him caught even though she had no idea what was going on. lol the kids fighting over Vicky is adorable. Oh no that guy recognized Nonna. Sad the play isn't animated but it is still adorable. Oh I was wrong, he recognized Vicky. Oh fuck. Well the cute is likely about to get even less common after this.

It's a weird writing: The world building makes no sense at all. Art has better and worse moments but Animation is just barely average. Character's design is bland. Backstories are facepalm. Dialogues are plain. And don't let me even start with pace: only other Anime this season I can think of with a worse narrative pace is that Heavy Knight stuff. Still here I am: episode 5 and with not even the slightest intention to drop it. I know I'm in love not when I think she's perfect... is when I can clearly see each and every one of her frailties and shortcomings but those just make me love her even more. So my only rational explanation is I fell in love with this show. Dumb me.

Direction and presentation do a lot even when the show doesn't have the most resources for it. Excluding last week I think the anime has done a good job. The pacing is slow yes, but the main trio is really endearing. Especially when each of them acts their age. This really helps with the slow pacing that the anime has. Tbh despite being a fantasy setting this feels closer to SxF where it's closer to the real world in some European setting. So I think the world-building is fine for what it is going for. Vicky's weakness is how kind she is. But I think that kindness is what makes her stand out and makes her feel really endearing. She adopted Nonna and helped Carl when she didn't need to. Though the ironic thing is being caught at dinner is what gives the organization the lead on her.

"Vicky" never operated within the law so this is norm. Her being found will lead to things. The Captain just a decent soul caught up in it. It feels like everyone in the kingdom roots for Captain but also knows he can be a fool. It's not actually vicky who is the linchpin of the story but him, because there's not much story without him and the child. And the child is already down with the spy lifestyle.

Considering she took in Nonna we know she had a good heart. I guess she feels guilty for Carl being bound to be executed. More so knows can't imagine what his sister would do considering what's happening to her. Nice to see the plan work well. Interestingly, the organization has a lead and it's just from going out to dinner with Jeffrey. We are curious how long it takes for them to play catch-up. I found it amusing Nonna was determined to play the witch lol.
