That entire bit with the bar was so strange. Vicky is constantly worried about her secret identity as a former spy leaking but she chooses to flee the bar by jumping up to a roof in the middle of the day like discount spider-woman only to be spooked by a cat and jump back down without a word? What was even the point? I thought maybe they were going to reveal that the drunk was actually a spy or assassin but nope... he was just a drunk and apparently avoiding drunks at a bar is worth nearly outing herself.

Nonna has gotten a lot livelier and cheerful since her introduction, which I believe brings a smile to all our faces. Clark may be slightly older than Nonna, but it would surely be beneficial for Nonna to make friends with him and others closer to her age. "I taught her everything, but I forgot to teach her about hiding / concealing one's skills." - Vicky in facepalm mode when Nonna showed off her acrobatic skills. Lol!

The Prince also feels a lot of guilt towards Jeff as it was ultimately the Prince's actions that ended up with Jeff's fiancee commiting suicide and Jeff resigning his post. So I have the feeling the Prince tends to listen on the rare occasion Jeff makes a personal request I also have the feeling that Victoria won't do anything with the Marquess unless pushed to do so. She's already in hot water and going after a member of nobility could severely threaten her and Nonna's life

Rather fun slide show we got today. At least Nonna is finally acting like a kid her age, seemingly no longer scared to be a kid. They animated the important stuff like Nonna doing a flip and running around. Can't even imagine where it goes from here, with her fake identity almost uncovered and attention that keeps finding her. And she has the attention of two princes now, with that story at the end, I doubt a nobles attention is good for her.

I interpreted that scene somewhat differently. My reading was that her allies in her home country sent her an encoded message that she is considered missing rather than dead, so her ruse in the first episode has fallen apart. Having a status of missing enables counterintelligence to find a person of interest, but there are also various levels of having a wanted status. Being a wanted criminal with a huge bounty is a full-on, no bars declaration that powerful people want that person captured, for instance, but, at the same time, it’s hard to walk back or de-escalate. What this means is that she should expect that a covert search for her has already begun in earnest. Victoria has a predicament because where she is, they suck pretty hard at this intelligence/counterintelligence stuff, but the people there are also kind of nice. Her original country is full of evil James Bonds in comparison.

Without getting too philosophical about what real means in the context of spies, I don’t know if there is a reason to believe that the MC was born with an identity that was named something other than “Victoria Sellars”. Given that she was an agent of the government of her country, I think it stands to reason that her country would not give her a fake identity that could be upended by something like a long presumed dead celebrity named Victoria Sellars returning from a long journey around the world. I could be giving them too much credit I suppose. Manufacturing a reason that she is presumed missing would be easy with the backing of a government. Maybe add that she is suspected of being a human trafficking victim and then there is plausible cause to widen the search and use the police. Maybe manufacture the kidnapping of more people and now you might have cause to search the entire country for Victoria Sellars. There are other options for widening search scope. Just have it involve international organized crime, preferably an organization where your intelligence service already has useful connections.

I don’t know if there is a reason to believe that the MC was born with an identity that was named something other than “Victoria Sellars”. So, the backstory, if I recall correctly is this (and do excuse me because I don't remember the names of the countries): MC was originally named Chloe and from Country A and became a spy for Country A. When she was betrayed, she went to Country B and took over "Victoria Sellars" identity, who is a missing women from Country B. Then, as Victoria Sellars, MC went to Country C, where the story currently is taking place. So, MC was not born as Victoria Sellars.

Technically, Chloe isn't the MC's real name either, just the alias she answered to at base when between missions. But yes, the real Victoria was a nobody who just happened to match the MC's rough physical description, so when the MC found out that she existed but unlikely to ever turn up, she made a set of papers in her name as a rainy day alias in case she was ever burned on a mission, which she then used after deciding to kill off "Chloe".

Hmmm, I might need to rewatch the first episode. Okay, you are right. I don’t think using a missing person as an assumed identity makes sense, but that is apparently what happened. It would have made more sense if she had a mission there and was reported as a missing person after completing her mission and abruptly leaving. But it would then be weird to reuse an old assumed identity and risk having to deal with loose threads from that old mission. It is a mystery why her intelligence agency is investigating Victoria Sellars. Did her agency not give her that identity? Why would they not do the usual thing with finding a plausible match in the civil registry for births and then done the burnt down church thing that results in conveniently lost information about the person in question actually being deceased? It’s fine, I guess.

Nonna in the first half of this episode was absolutely devastating. Her VA is punching so much emotion through her it's quite honestly incredible. Victoria's more calculating and self-sufficient character shines through nicely to contrast that, but also emphasizes the seriousness with which she cares for Nonna all the more. Quite honestly, this is developing into one of my favourite series this season, particularly Nonna as a character is that impressive.

I think Jeffrey’s friend thought Jeffrey would take the hint to run away with Victoria and Nonna when he had Victoria tailed. He had no reason to believe tailing her would achieve anything other than sending Victoria a message that she was under suspicion and felt guilty that Jeffrey might lose a second chance at happiness/love. So, in the end he’s in a pickle because Jeffrey is not getting the hint and tells him to call off the tail, but his brother pulls this stunt and gets some ribs broken for the trouble. Jeffrey is such a well meaning character despite being clumsy and kind of dense, so what can you do? If we circle back to Victoria, though, her optimal strategy is to break contact with Jeffrey and run. Jeffrey will possibly never understand what’s going on nor understand that he is a liability and potential leverage against her whether the leverage is as a hostage, blackmail, etc…. And unfortunately the same could be said about Nonna. It’s precisely these kinds of deviations from optimal strategy that gets the best agents killed/captured. Somehow Jeffrey does have a sense that Victoria could just disappear on him, but that’s been his entire experience with love, so I find it hard to give him too much credit. (There would not be much of a show after this episode if Victoria decided to use the optimal spy strategy of escape, though.)

This episode felt very choppy. Story wise and animation wise. Still liked it but all those close ups made me little nauseous or something, not sure what. Wasn't a pleasant watch. I don't know what's going to unfold from this but that's one magnanimous prince, to have 2 ribs broken and not be mad at Victoria. For someone not wanting attention did she really have to land next to bartender lol? Or did she do it on purpose so he wouldn't worry? If I were captain, even if I loved her, I still wouldn't be able to resist simply asking "who are you" or maybe I've never been truly in love. Maybe he's smarter than me and knows this would lead to her disappearing. I wonder if she regrets stopping the murderer at the party. I would.

I'm not sure i needed Shigeyasu Yamauchi bombarding a Tefuda episode with his direction work. His direction is easily recognizable for me (i got to watch his work in Casshern Sins, Kimi no Iru Machi and Saijaku Tamer and various single episodes from other shows) and usually i like it but something went wrong here for sure with the pacing and a clear lack of animation even by his standards. I'm a little salty ngl.

I've noticed loneliness and being left alone seems to be a common theme in this story. Nonna and Jeff both suffer from abandonment issues due to their past. With Nonna's mom abandoning her and Jeff's former fiancee commiting suicide. And the Old Lady where Victoria lives and the older man for whom she works both already had their partners pads on and were a bit lonely. Victoria herself feels abandoned by the one man she used to trust back in her spy days I really appreciate how serious the story takes everything. People seem to be dealing with some serious shit and things don't always work out nicely You can tell they didn't have much budget to work with, especially in the fight scene, but they tried their best to make it work regardless and I really appreciate that

Honestly, the SB/ED work by Shigeyasu Yamauchi would have worked given the tilt-ups, close-ups and wider camera panning actually worked in showing Victoria being menacing (as well as her trying to distance herself again with everybody mostly), but said camera angles being used to skip action scene sakuga didn't really mesh well with the overall vibe of #4, so to speak (said transition kept things really clunky). That being said, the staff keeping the anime to manga aesthetic actually worked really well, and it was fun seeing Victoria gain a new student who seems to have lit a competitive fire within Nonna. Also let's hope the Captain never messes with our former spy here, his boss' brother clearly suffered a hell of a broken rib after that kind of kick.

Okay, I was giving some benefit of the doubt, but the royalty here has zero self preservation skills. A woman appears from another country, and got entangled with someone with access to literal princes, and then it turns out they're like super-assassin skills.... that break a prince's ribs... "let's just leave her alone because our boy is in looooove and we promised to stop following her". Yea, okay. Also I get what the anime was going for with the prince-fight, why she took the offensive... but it didn't come off well and just made her look stupid like she was throwing away her new life.

Gotta say it is kinda stupid for the Prince to still continue spying on Victoria despite Jeff telling them not to. I guess his curiosity got the better off him or u could say Victoria did Also i like that Nonna and Victoria have gotten much closer to the point that she's not afraid of crying infront of her and Victoria also trusting and training her in return, It's also nice that Nonna's got a friend around her age to hang out with, But im curious what did Chloe's boss do to make her lose trust in him and run away.

It’s not surprising to learn that the intruder’s related to the Prince, but what’s surprising was that he’s Cedric himself instead of one of his men. That little heroic of her at the ball ended up jeopardising her identity and now she’s had to weigh down the consequences of starting a new life in another country (again). Difference is now there’s Nonna, who she truly cared like a daughter. There’s also Jeffrey who made good of his word in getting her surveillance ceased. She could easily bring Nonna with her but she’d need to burn her relationship with him down, and she’s reluctant to do that.
