This show has a lot of charm in it's direction. I honestly did not expect that. That's great to see. I always love spy characters. I've always been drawn to competent lying MCs. And so far I really like Victoria as well. A trapfall some stories like this have is that while the MC is told to be clever and competent, their actions are stupid. But Victoria seems actually competent and her actions make sense based on her background. So I'm really enjoying this

I really liked Victoria and Noona's relationship here and it was wholesome that she adopted her, I guess she really sees herself in her and the manga like panelling here highlights that, This looks pretty great, i really liked this whole concept of "wanting to start a new life" but I do wonder what exactly Chloe's or should I say Victoria's story is, She kinda reminds me of Handler from Spy x family.

I think it's pretty clever how the show uses "many faces" in two different ways. When Victoria describes herself as having many faces, she's referring to her duplicity and tradecraft, to her fake faces. However, I believe she means something more positive and genuine for Nonna. We saw that due to her rough upbringing, Nonna is emotionally suppressed and mostly wears a neutral expression. Hell, even her favorite food is just plain dinner rolls. That's why Victoria wants to expand Nonna's favorite foods. That's why Victoria wants Nonna to be more expressive; to smile, laugh, and maybe even cry; to have all the genuine faces that a six-year-old child ought to have.

Mother Chisato and Daughter Takina lol. It's a little amusing hearing them co-star again like this.  I'm liking this, it did make me think of Spy x Family with how Jeffrey seems interested in Victoria, so we might get a found family sort of situation where they raise Nonna, but the difference being we might get more focus on the romance. This feels like it could be an interesting ride.  I wonder if Victoria might be misunderstanding Lancrome's betrayal, it seems like the person he's engaged could have set things up in that way for Victoria. She's probably jealous of Lancome and Victoria's relationship.

What a way to spend the first day of her new life after throwing her old one away. Chloe Victoria never would've thought she'd informally adopt a child. For most of the episode, Nonna kept referring to Victoria as miss but near the end she began calling her Vicky instead. It's a lovely sign Nonna's beginning to see Victoria as a mother figure. Nonna had also started to express emotions after she had previously maintained a blank face. Her old mother was absolutely terrible for teaching her to suppress her emotions. In a way, abandoning her at that exact moment turned out to be a blessing in disguise as she ended up encountering a far kinder mother. Also looking forward to the ultra slow-burn romance between Jeffrey and Victoria. I do think she'd eventually have to reveal her past to him if they're about to take their relationship to the next stage – trust is important.

I rather enjoyed this and the style it has. Close enough, welcome back Spy Family A bit unusual to get a 27 year old protagonist, turns out this is another Josei seasonal. Between Victoria's internal comment about at least one woman looking at Jeffrey and Jeffrey showing so much interest in return I have to wonder how quickly any romance might move. With adult characters you can dispense with some of the tropes that are nearly always there for high school and such romance stories. Nonna got really lucky having a new volunteer mom walk into her life the same day her old mom left her on the street. With this being Deen and they way some of the scene transitions worked I had to go check and see if this was by the Stepsister director, but it was not.

Good first episode. Victoria is a pretty interesting character and I like how competent she is. They tell me she's a master ex-spy and from this episode, I believe it! Jeffery is unbelievably charming. How is this man still single? Nonna is really cute and it just warms my heart to see her open up to Victoria by the end of the episode. I also like how this sets the tone for this series. I can already imagine Victoria getting involved in something after she said she shouldn't and I look forward to her trying to hide her past spy life.

Chisato just adopted Takina! Also there's nothing I love more than serene, beautiful, and competent women. A woman of conviction, who made and lived by her choices, finally makes the most important choice of all: to be free. Chloe (Chika Anzai!) was taken from her family willingly to become a spy under the Kingdom of Hangl, coming to idolize and respect the man who recruited her (Kenji Nojima!) as a big brother...but realizing that all that work that she did for her family was for nothing, she's finally willing to cut ties, abandon her former identity, fake her suicide, and use her beauty and spy skills to be free and find a new life for herself in the Kingdom of Ashbury in the identity of a missing woman: Victoria Sellers. And she'll pull it off, because she's nothing if not a woman with many faces. The OP is very fun and cute, featuring Victoria with Nonna (Shion Wakayama!) and Jeffrey (Yohei Azakami!) as a happy family together along with the various other people she'll connect with along the way! She chases after Jeffrey! She dons many faces! She kicks butt! And she finds happiness! "Victoria" is finally free, but when she sees a clearly abandoned little girl named Nonna, she can't help but see herself in the girl and try to help her. And she also can't help but stop a purse snatcher along the way, which introduces her to the dashing and gentlemanly Jeffrey, captain of the Second Order! I'm glad that Victoria and Jeffrey are like-minded on a lot of things, like how Nonna deserves better than sleeping in a Watch station, and they seem to get along well even if Victoria is trying to feel out how much she can reveal to him without exposing herself. The best lies are born from truths after all. Poor Nonna...seems like her mom barely cared about her and just made her be quiet all the time, so she never got to experience being a child. But with "Vicky" she doesn't have to worry or be stoic all the time, she can be herself. Victoria could just give Nonna away to the Children's Home...but she just can't let her go, not when it feels like giving herself away again. And with Jeffrey as a guarantor, she's able to keep Nonna! Victoria and Nonna are two very beautiful girls and Jeffrey is lucky to see them all dressed up (and he's no slouch either). This is practically a family dinner date, especially with the fancy outfits! And despite Victoria's own misgivings, Jeffrey's getting involved in their search for a new home! She can't keep away from him. I bet there's a LOT Nonna can learn from Victoria as they get to know each other better! Who better to learn skills and self-sufficiency from than a spy? Though I also don't think Jeffrey will be satisfied with JUST letters and updates from Victoria. The ED is cute with Victoria walking through portraits of herself...until her family joins her and we get to see her, Nonna, and Jeffrey in all their various outfits as they enjoy each others' company!

Always eyed to read the Ln, never did. Noticed the producer is the same one in Deen as Shiboyugi and Sasaki to Miyano. A very solid episode. A breath of fresh air, which adds a bit of mystery. For Victoria, who was brought up in the organization that eventually betrayed her. What is the storoy behind that. For Nonna where did she come from. Was she just simply an abandoned child? Direction has a very pleant vibe to it. The slow pace works out to see how the relationship between Victoria and Nonna grows through this episode. Victoria knows what it feels like to be abandoned at a young age. Nonna growing to trust Victoria, finally calling her Vicky was a nice way to end the episode.

This is like Spy x Family's baby sister. Not as funny as that show but pleasant to watch and the plot was good. Victoria does seem a nice person to just take on an orphan, especially when she doesn't have very much. I thought that was terrible though that she lied that her family died in a fire if it's not true, although maybe it's not far from it since she said Nonna reminded her of someone in how sad she was in being abandoned and maybe it was her. I don't know that Victoria thinks of Asher as more than a friend and guarantor currently but he clearly crushes on her. One thing I didn't like that is so common now in anime is the ED spoiling things, like it had all these images of the 3 of them as a happy family.

I'm very intrigued by this first episode. Victoria as a character is very sure and capable. I'm excited to learn more about her, and what the whole betrayal was? She faked her death pretty well, it's very long con to consistently visit a cliff. Jeffrey is already incredibly likable, he as is the overall tone have the refinement that comes with adulthood. It's just really pleasant to watch adults adulting some times.

Heard nothing about this. Surprised by how interesting the story is. Early nominee for biggest surprise. You have spy elements, you have a former mentor estranged, you have the adopted daughter element, the learning to be a mother element and then the gallant captain who probably has more going on. And I am sure the actual mother could come back into the story as well. A more adult story than most anime. The story feels almost British.

The scene at around 19:18 and the exact moment happening at that timestamp is incredibly well made. The pause as she has to think about what she should answer is so natural and let's the scene breathe. I didn't expect his response to be in the same manner, where he stops to think about what he should say, like you would naturally engaging in conversation with someone you cared about, showing you care about what you say. Excellent. Show is also very good, got brought to tears several times lmao.

Alright, I'm in. This season, I'm making an effort to give as many new anime as possible an opportunity, but this one was the first one I found myself hoping the episode wouldn't end. Victoria seems like a competent, mature, and kind character with a complicated past. I'm a fan of characters with those traits, but to find one with all of them is certainly exciting to me. Looking forward to next week!

I'm liking the cast here; this show has definitely garnered my attention. However, I can't help but feel a little jarred by some of the terminology they were using when talking about Victoria's old job... considering when the story seems to be set, it feels weird to have some spy agency's base of operations (for that time period) be referred to as the "Special Operations Force Central Control Room" and her being referred to as an "Operator". As far as I know, terms like that are relatively new and wouldn't have been used at that time.
