Well, he DID play big roles in Marineford and Fishman Island though, and did well in Wano. But this arc was never truly about the crew at large or even Usopp specifically as people were hyping it up to be. This really is gonna be an arc where Luffy grows, Loki redeems himself since I am sure he will play a part in the final battle in or around Laugh Tale, and since he was introduced officially in Egghead, we will probably get Void Century and Joyboy Lore. I think the closest we get to seeing a Straw Hat upgrade is either Sanji accidentally tapping into conqueror’s haki or supreme king haki to help fight. maybe if Loki dies somehow Ragnir is claimed by Usopp.

I love One Piece and I get that it isn't the most psychologically introspective show ever but something that always annoys me to some extent is how every strawhat loses a lot of character once they join the crew. We do get some great characteriation moments here and there like the Usopp getting angry over the Merry in Water 7, Sanji in Whole Cake Island and most recently Robin reunion with Saul but I don't feel the story lets them organically develop as characters. Everyone has to wait their turn for the spotlight it seems.

Usually I can look past all of the one piece BS, but really? Robin the smartest character, didn't even try to stop the kids with her Devil Fruit by holding them in place? or create a box around them with arms not allowing them to proceed, if she wanted to take head of the warning mr. wolf gave her. She just sat there stared at them walking away on the beach and then forgot about them and ran back to the library's main area. okay 😊
