夜桜さんちの大作戦 第2期

The music has been a major highlight of this season for me, and this episode was no exception. I really enjoyed seeing the family bicker about what to do about Kyoichiro. I think everyone gets a good moment where they stand their ground with individual opinions, it reminds us that they're all their own people with different personalities despite being one close family. Then each sibling working to find him with their own skills while having a flashback to a 1 on 1 moment showing their bond with Kyoichiro, it all works to give this situation even more emotional weight. I'm also very excited to meet the president of the Spy Association, Kai Izumo. His relationship with Kyoichiro and parallels with Taiyo are interesting. Hyped for the finale next week!! I'm expecting a top tier episode.

It's cute how strong the bonds are within this family, they all find Kyouichirou a pain but at the end of the day he is their eldest brother.  Black cherry blossoms was a surprise, I'm curious to see how he can get cured of it. Taiyou is obviously going to be the one to cure him, but I'm sure Kyouichirou isn't going to make it easy for him so I'm looking forward to their fight.  Kai's flashback made me realize we have never seen Kyouichirou's hands before, he has so many scars. I'm guessing he doesn't want the others to see any of the scars on his body.

Futaba is definitely NOT taking Kyoichiro's disappearance well, but it goes to show how serious it is that Mutsumi has to actually order the family to stay back as the Family Head against Futaba's desire to straight up search for him. Mutsumi has to be the calm, rational, leader the family needs even when she's reeling from the loss of her big brother. For all they complain about him, the family starts falling apart after losing him as they can't all collectively agree on where to go from here...but good thing Shinzo is there to keep the family together and make them realize that BOTH taking a step back and searching for him are the right decisions! As long as they do it as a family! FAMILY HUG. And for how much they hate on him, each member of the family has a fond memory of Kyoichiro being there for them and helping them realize their full potential or what they can do with their lives. Although I love how Kengo has to go down the rabbit hole of actually BECOMING Kyoichiro which is easier said than done. Taiyo visits the Spy Assocation with rice crackers in hand to meet...not a janitor, but the Spy Association President Kai Izumo (Hiroshi Kamiya)! Who is actually a longtime friend of Kyoichiro who experienced an accident that gave him basically super senses, and that's why Kyoichiro knew he'd be the best choice to basically run the spy world. And Kai knows that only Taiyo can stop Kyoichiro in the state he's in. Wow, it didn't actually take that long to track Kyoichiro down! Even if it takes all the family (sans Taiyo) to even just hold their own against him! But this isn't a fight they can win, if only because Kyoichiro is infected with Tsubomi's blood and it's slowly killing him...and will spread to the rest of the family if he doesn't isolate and let himself wither away. Obviously no one in the family has any intention of letting him go through with it, but they can't stop him...and yet it was always going to come down to Taiyo vs Kyoichiro, wasn't it?

I can't be the only one who imagining Kai and Kyoichiro as a couple after that flashback shot of them in the classroom. So much for Kyoichiro's declaration last week his family would never see him again, not even a single episode gap before they did. I've been wondering how they were going to finish this without it feeling like it stops in the middle of an arc, rescuing Kyoichiro from this black sakura petal infection could work for that.

This family is so awesome. Doesn't matter how much Kyoichiro annoys them and makes things stressful they love him dearly and would rather have him around than not. Was nice seeing the flash back to see despite how many siblings he has and how he annoys/stresses them he is still a decent big bro. He spends time with them all doing the thing they love. Mutsumi made the right call and was awesome as the family head. I am glad the family fell in line as they should.
