Most people also don't struggle with a parent experiencing with dementia-like symptoms at his age. I gotta disagree. My grandpa got diagnosed with Alzheimers when I was 10. He taught me to play chess and would draw caricatures of me and my siblings all the time. Once he was diagnosed, I never formed another meaningful memory with him again . Also, my grandma died before him. It was devastating because he'd ask where his wife was and relive her death over and over. Dementia is literally a fate worse than death. The only solace is that they are unaware of their own state and slowly fade away. I am going to sound like a horrible person for saying this, but I'm sure anyone can relate thats experienced it themselves... All they are is an empty vessel that you have to maintain. They can eat, poop and pee, but even need help with all of those, and no longer contribute anything meaningful. I watched a marriage fall apart before my eyes due to the strain, both financial and physical, that were endured by my aunt and uncle. Sorry for the rant. I'd just say it doesn't really matter the age - it is worse than stage 4 cancer given the fact that their coherence is essentially that of an infant, or worse.

It feels like Zenith's somewhere in there the way she acts sometimes, but for the most part it's just heartbreaking. You can definitely tell she seems sensitive to Norn's presence around her. Sadder that it's not her firstborn too, but it's a start. She was a follower of Millis like Cliff, so she absolutely would have. Rudy would have gotten off easy with just 100 lectures. Also Rudy basically did the same thing to Sylphie that Paul did to her. Like, yeah, she accepted it and things turned out okay at the time but that would still sting.

Also people forget that Sylphie told him he was fine to get a second wife after they were married, Rudy scoffed at the idea but Sylphie gave him the greenlight because she knows how he is, and she was worried that because it's hard to get an elf pregnant, he'd have better luck getting a child from a second wife. She later realized Rudy was just him and overcame an incredibly low fertility rate in what is factually record time

Agreed. I think the reason for that is she considers herself first and foremost the Greyrat family maid. And she takes that job/role very seriously, to a fault. It's kinda sad because for all intents and purposes, Lilia is Rudy's mother as much as Zenith was/is. The fact that they're literally family, because Paul married her, and Aisha is Rudy's sister, makes me wish she'd act more familial with everyone

Correct. Lilia was the one who seduced Paul so she's carrying a world of guilt. She fully expected to be kicked out of the Greyrat home and would likely have died in her vulnerable state while out in the world, until Rudy came in and saved her life. As a result, she feels incredibly indebted to him to the point where she can only see herself as his maid to serve him, and not his stepmother. Rudy of course doesn't see her as just a maid, but Lilia is stubborn like that.

Turning Point 1: The Mana Disaster. Everyone was teleported, causing mass devastation to many people, families and the region. We would also later find out that it was how Nanahoshi got here. Turning Point 2: The Dragon God Encounter. Rudy almost dies at the hands of Orsted – only being saved because Nanahoshi suspected he was isekai'd like her – and the entire party gets traumatised by the encounter. This would result in Eris leaving Rudy to get stronger, unintentionally leaving him with ED that he'd have to find Sylphie to cure. Turning Point 3: Sylphie became pregnant and Rudy got a letter asking for more help saving Zenith. The Man God insisted he stayed home but he ignored him, resulting in Paul dying and him losing his hand, though they did save Zenith and Roxy which they probably wouldn't have if Rudy didn't go.

We don't know for sure, but most likely they wouldn't have reached her. The dungeon was extremely difficult and it's only because Rudy had borrowed a book of an old adventurer's account of the dungeon that they managed to get through it so quickly after he joined. Plus the final portal was hidden and Rudy only realised it because the room looked like the room of a teleportation circle he went through on the way there. Even if they did make it to where Zenith was, it's unlikely they would have beaten the hydra. It regenerates heads and, without Rudy's suggestion based on the Heracles great myth, who knows if they could have figured out how to beat it. And that's without getting into how useful Rudy was in that fight thanks to his incantationless magic and absurd mana pool, pretty much instantly burning the stumps 'cause he could just fire great fire magic and being able to stop its breath attack. And, of course, Roxy almost certainly would have died if Rudy hadn't been there to figure out where she was and save her.

I think there's a good chance that the Man God was honest when he told Rudeus that not going would have been better for him. Roxy would have certainly died, but there's a good chance that Rudeus would have never known and he would have kept living thinking she was alive somewhere. Paul would have likely never found Zenith, which means he would have never found the Hydra either and he would have survived. And of course Rudeus wouldn't have lost his hand. The only real downside is that he would have lived his life knowing that he failed to find and save his mother, but on the other hand he would have never had to see her living as a vegetable.

Roxy would have certainly died, but there's a good chance that Rudeus would have never known and he would have kept living thinking she was alive somewhere. That's... not better for him. Besides, I highly doubt a bunch of people who knew how highly Rudy regarded Roxy wouldn't have told him that she was dead. Paul not finding Zenith doesn't mean he would have survived. In fact, I'd argue quite the opposite. He was DETERMINED to find her. Actual "save her or die trying," and if he couldn't save her then that leaves only one option left. It was pretty obvious even to Rudy that the Man God was manipulating him, listing off regrets he'd have if he went without naming any regrets he'd have if he didn't go. He was technically "not lying" by lying by omission rather than direct untruths. Not to mention his "advice" included cheating on Sylphie with either Linia or Pursena during their mating season. He was trying to manipulate Rudy away from the better option by making it sound worse and the other more tempting without fully understanding Rudy.
