As has Haruki! Thus begins the Diet Alliance! Mori has a girlfriend? I'm kind of surprised considering how big a horndog he is, but maybe that's because of his "bear" of a girlfriend. But he at least seems...somewhat cognizant of how girls feel? Maybe? Especially as Haruki commiserates with the other girls over diets. Mitake has enough sense to now wear a jacket while gardening and also to find new stuff to bond with Haruki over, like how they both cook for their families. Kaido Kazuki! Soccer star and perpetual heartbreaker! Because he has his eyes set on Haruki and Hayato is NOT pleased with this. So can Haruki not date anyone because she can't cause a scandal for her actress mother? Though she's EXTREMELY weak against headpats from Hayato, to the point of treating it like he's hitting first base with her. Both Hayato and Himeko totally misread Saki's (Fuka Izumi!) feelings towards Hayato, though her curt text replies don't help her on that front. I love how she even sends him a selfie of her all dressed up in her Shrine Maiden festival outfit and he thinks it was for Himeko, poor girl. I doubt Haruki is actually dating Kaido, but that doesn't mean the rest of the class doesn't think they're together. What does Kaido think though?

The best part is she caressed her chest in front of everyone for "visual aid." And she did that after she learned that her classmates are freaks too. Nothing is too far when it comes to teasing Hayato I guess lol. Sends him a cute selfie of herself -> "Must be meant for my sister!" Can't wait for Saki to literally throw herself at Hayato and for him to think she's just Canadian because she's not Haruki.

I had a similar thought but wasn’t sure if my deja vu was correct. Watching too many shows. But I guess the deal is he didn’t react so overly, since it’s honestly pretty easy to just be a normal person and not freak out or stare. But I guess in this instance his reaction was noticed by a third party (who had her own reasons to exaggerate it), so perhaps he’d have just blown it off otherwise? It does seem like it was a weak excuse to get into self consciousness issues from his childhood friend as she starts thinking about whether they could be together. I still find the entire trope of a childhood friend you think is a boy instead of a girl for an extremely prolonged period hard to swallow. But I’m willing to let that slide. I do wish more anime would avoid the big vs small boobs trope even more, but it certainly relates directly to the other one you mentioned.

This show keeps subverting tropes. You'd expect Hayato's male classmates to just be NPCs that are jealous that he was with a girl (Minamo) and angry that he was looking at her chest, but instead we learn that they're all freaks so they're proud of him. Haruki outing him instead of giving him the chance to explain was the cherry on top. Her teasing is great. It's not all sunshine and roses though as Haruki definitely likes him (she caught herself when she was playing games with Himeko and just bolted) and is worried that another girl might steal him. And wouldn't you know there is that girl from Hayato's home town that is not shy that she likes him. Then there's also that boy from the OP that finally got introduced that thinks Haruki is "the one". I can see Saki and Kazuki (the boy that considers Haruki "the one") giving Hayato and Haruki the push they need because after all while Himeko is helping. She can only do so much. I hope Minamo doesn't develop feelings for Hayato as well. She's such a sweetheart and the feelings would likely go nowhere so I don't want her to get hurt. I think she'd work better as a female friend to Hayato that he can talk to when things start getting more serious with Haruki anyway.

Haruki shows more of her gremlin side at school by slandering Hayato. Wonder how many people noticed how much she was enjoying messing with him, or if they were too distracted by the dirty joke to notice. Wait, did Himeko and Haruki not know Haruki had a thing for Hayato? (I am also only realizing now that all three of them have H-names.) I thought Himeko would've at least realized after helping Haruki dress up for the not-date. When the numbers on the scale get censored. As a bit of an aside, maybe this is just me being too male to get it, but 4kg doesn't feel like that big a deal. They're teenagers, who are presumably still growing, and it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with their figures or any health risks. I know it's a common trope, but it's always weird to me when girls with anime-girl proportions are so self-conscious about weight. Especially if going hungry is a proposed solution for it. Perhaps I should just chalk it up to differences between our perception and in-universe perception. Best-friend-character-san has a girlfriend? Huh. Haruki's first thought being about celebrity scandals adds more credence to the theory about that actress from last episode. Other childhood-friend-chan entering the fray? Albeit as a designated losing heroine that's not even in the same city. And going back to my previous thought on how Himeko didn't realize Haruki liked Hayato, I guess she just has a universal blind spot in thinking anyone could be into her brother. Haruki's slandering of Hayato has achieved the dual (perhaps unintended) purpose of integrating both of them more into the general "bro friend group". Baring your fetishes true self has a way of breaking down invisible barriers. Love-rival-san approaches? We all know he has zero chance of succeeding (if that really is his goal), so I wonder what narrative purpose he'll serve, or if he's just there for the jealousy flag.

MC was doing quite the opposite if oggling. He really needs to get Haru back for this, but he never does. I like how supportive all the guys in class were tho. 4 kilos is like 9 lb, that is indeed not a small amount, especially for a teen. Huh, MC actually remembers that girl from back home after all, seems he just never counted her as a friend and thought she hated him. Well, seems Haru has a boyfriend now >_>

It's just bad form to oogle the innocent sheep girl, sheep have it hard enough as is. Hayato's been feeding the girls in his life too well, I'm even a little surprised he didn't get in mild trouble for that when they discovered the need for the diet. We so commonly get the harem formula these days it makes me wonder when the last time I watched a romcom was where both of the lead characters had other people pursuing them romantically. Assuming the theories about the actress Haruto saw during the date being her mother are true that probably explains her expounding about perfect girls not being allowed to date.

Haruki looked like she was going to beat Mitake up, she really seems to despise her since she thinks she's always trying to get Hayato's attention; Haruki probably thought Mitake intentionally wet her blouse to show off her breasts. Hayato also misspoke when he asked if Mitake dieted, that did come off as kind of rude, I felt bad for her in this episode although i still think it's possible Hayato crushes on her since he always hangs out in the garden with her and got really turned on by her breasts. Haruki at least apologized to Hayato and I think she's just been having a rough go at it and being on a diet doesn't help your mood. Haruki and Himeko don't really look fat or even chubby and I'd suspect their weight gain is more them just growing. Himeko is like 12-14 so probably should be growing. Haruki is male and may not only be growing but gaining muscle mass., like at that age, you don't even have to lift weights to get more muscle. That's funny how Himeko thinks Saki thinks Hayato is a gross loser. I wonder if she was just trying to pick on him or is genuinely unaware she likes him, she doesn't seem to have the best gauge since she has no idea Haruki is in love with him. I don't remember if Saki has ever been on before but probably not much she can do if she lives out in the country and may be too young for Hayato. The reason Haruki doesn't date is obvious but I wonder if she actually does like anyone else but Hayato, like if she likes the blonde boy. Mitake said he has a has a huge crush on Haruki but maybe she's just repeating what she heard although they made it seem like he was going to ask Haruki out at the end of the episode. The boys in her class didn't seem that successful because a lot of girls would feel uncomfortable going out with 3 boys she barely knows, especially when they were talking about their weird fetishes
