Yeah it was similar but less devastating. There's just some innocence or something in her voice that hits me in the feels extra hard. I was skeptical about CGI chopper but yhey nailed it and the facial expressions.

I liked how it was framed not vaguely as “the right thing to do” or “that’s unfair / he wronged you” but specifically as the fact that Chouchou had his treasure ruined and Luffy apologizes for not being able to salvage much more than a bag of treats.
あのシーン、漠然と「正しいことをする」とか「不公平だ／奴がお前に悪いことをした」って描くんじゃなくて、チョウチョウの宝物が壊されたって事実と、ルフィが「袋の餌しか救えなかった」って謝る形にしたのが良かった。+18

Same exact moment for me. Some of the earlier plot lines were a bit…meh? Kind of stereotypical and heavy on the melodrama. That scene woke me up a bit.

Nami asking for help, When Does A Man Die?,  and I Want To Live are the three scenes that botching could ruin an otherwise excellent adaptation. They're that essential to the core themes of One Piece. And damn, how was it typing this comment that made me realize Luffy is the most consent-based character I've ever read. He demands you say it before he does it. Love him so much.

2/3 done proper so far out of your list there are so many more worthy moments though spoilering as op seems to not be caught up at all the build up towards >!ussop leaving the crew!< needs to be done just right for it to feel as painful as it did in the manga. with how many liberties the adaptation is taking, i fear they might miss the target some.
