As much as I absolutely love dorohedoro, it doesn’t feel like it’s every one cup of tea.
Do watch dorohedoro if you like black humour and unconventional art that pushes the limits and don’t mind gore.

While we're on that subject, please watch *Medalist* people! It's in the doldrums on Disney+ but it's such a strong sports drama anime about a young girl who wants to be a figure skater but is almost too late to start learning, and her coach who used to compete as an ice dancer, and is down on his luck but loves the sport.
The drama is absorbing, the comedy is great, you'll feel like crying at multiple points, and the character writing is really strong. I particularly like the way it portrays coaches and their students, with the power that comes from believing in each other.
ついでに言うと、みんな*メダリスト*見てくれ！Disney+で全然盛り上がってないけど、フィギュアスケーターになりたいけど始めるにはほぼ遅すぎる少女と、元アイスダンサーで落ちぶれたコーチの、超強力なスポーツドラマアニメなんだ。+3

I was watching Mother's Basement and he recommended this to anyone who likes Vinland Saga or Pluto. Guess I have yet another new show to put on my watch list.

Pluto is so goated
I would say the show is lot more darkly comedic and politically driven, so like Vinland and Pluto, it's dialogue heavy and driven (so far), but Nippon also plays with a lot of stylisation and dark humour to keep it engaging
To me this falls in line with more Golden Kamuy/Dorohedoro or Orb
First 3 eps are out if you wanna give it a try
プルートウは神すぎる
このアニメはもっとブラックコメディで政治的に駆動されてる感じだと思う。ヴィンランドやプルートウみたいに、対話が多くてそれで話が進む（今のところ）。でもニッポンはスタイライゼーションとブラックユーモアもたくさん使ってて、引き込まれるんだ。
個人的にはゴールデンカムイやドロヘドロの系統に並ぶと思う+3

I feel like the amount of people that 1) actually were even aware of that AI news or 2) actually cared that AI was used for some very short sequence background stuff for the intro is really that high to be honest. The average person either hasn't heard about it or even cared.
I like Bookworm in general, but the core issue so far is that it's just not that interesting this season. It's jumping around between scenes a lot and leaving some things completely unresolved (like myne getting dragged across a floor, bloodied, at the end of episode 1).
正直言って、1) そのAIニュースを実際に知ってた人、2) OPの超短い背景シーンのためにAI使われたって事を実際に気にしてた人の数って、そこまで多くないと思うんだよね。普通の人は聞いたことすらないか、気にも留めてない。

Honestly, after reading just the manga for Parts 1 and 2, the pacing of getting back to the Bookworm anime feels jarring. It's not bad per se, but it does lack the cohesiveness that you would want in an ideal adaptation.
I doubt they would have gotten 3 cours for Part 3. This scenario is notably better than the fate of Part 2 because that suffered as a result.
Bookworm has more things going against it, and the AI is the least of it.

It's the natural problem of the named characters doubling in size, all while we are moving so fast that we barely get to see them speak 2 sentences, if that, before we move to the next scene. Even the light novel is not giving reasonable intro times to the cast, as it's just piling up names of nobles. Ok, here's Angelica, she doesn't open her mouth, bye! Here's a brother, here's another brother, they get 2 sentences!
Everyone will get developed... eventually.

Akane Banashi has been so fun to watch, I had no knowledge of the series beforehand so I was like wtf is this? I don’t know what rakugo is but I’m loving learning about it, this series seems like a gem.
Nippon Sangoku is another that’s just been incredible and it should 1000% be on everyone’s radar it’s beautiful the story is gripping the world building is fantastic and the politics just seems like it’s going to be incredible.
Witch hat and Re: Zero are what we thought they were. Witch hat is especially beautiful and I’m just a sucker for ptsd simulator Re: Zero.
Marriage toxin is another show I had no prior knowledge of and it may be my favorite of the season, been in the mood for a silly ott fun anime and it’s hitting all the buttons so far.
Mao has been slow but I love the manga and the writer is just goated can’t wait for the rest of the season.
Wand and sword is just as great as before much quicker start to an already fast paced anime but in a good way
Ascendance of a bookworm is one of my favs it’s just cozy
Edit: deamons also seems like high potential I love the art style and the story so far so much good stuff this season

Cinderella Gray was on Prime and it was doing pretty good. It’s just there’s almost 0 content creators promoting it. Gigguk completely skipped Nippon Sangoku in his Spring 2026 video. Mother’s Basement is the only person I’ve even seen name drop it.

Daemons is so great, gives me warm fuzzies like FMAB is back. I am also enjoying Marriagetoxin a lot. Classroom of the Elit 4 I have mixed opinions on this, for now it feels to me like a rehash of previous seasons, I'm not seeing anything relly new. But happy to be proven wrong
