The animators had no way to tell how big Kuma was, so they assumed he was smaller but closer to Doflamingo

I think it was basically the opening's way of being like "these two Warlords from Jaya don't really have anywhere to go right now, so let's just associate them with Mariejois since that's where we met them." Obviously this wasn't planned, but putting them together sort of works in retrospect given their backstories. One is a former Celestial Dragon in Mariejois whose actions represents some of the worst humanity has to offer, while the other is a former slave whose actions represent the best of humanity.

多分OP的には「ジャヤ出身のこの二人の七武海は今行き場がないから、会った場所のマリージョアと関連付けておこう」って感じだったんだと思う。計画通りじゃなかったけど、結果的に二人を一緒にしといたのは上手くいったよね。+191

Honestly didn't realize the opposition of these two characters. Wonder if Doffy learned about Kuma's back story. That'd really suck for Kuma

Honestly doffy isn't the kind to pick fights out of nowhere. He might like fun to kuma but he'd only use his past as a weapon if Kuma was a threat to him, since Kuma is too stoic to aggravate him anyhow

Might be wrong but doflamingo is a celestial dragon and kuma worked for the celestial dragon kuma might have been getting a few orders from doglamingo

They are shown as being the only shichibukai to show up to Mariejois when the Gorosei requested a meeting with the warlords. Maybe they went out for some cherry soda together afterwards
