Rather than show off the Digimon... how about they show off the game? Because so far this just seems to be a VPet on the smartphone, but probably with gacha. But I don't think they've shown off any kind of "hook", a story mode or combat or something of the sort yet.

This is just a pretty wild guess, but i almost think it'll be a "raising sim" similar to Uma Musune, where we pick our main digimon and fill out a support team then quickly run through the life cycle. We'd pick which stats to train and make little choices that can influence the progression.
完全に推測だけど、ウマ娘みたいな「育成シミュレーション」になるかも。メインデジモンを選んでサポートチームを組み、寿命サイクルを回しながら、どのステータスを鍛えるか選んだり、成長に影響する小さな選択をしたりする感じ。+2

Guilmon is in general my favorite digimon, but I'm tempted to pick Agumon when the game comes out cause he's so fucking cute in this artstyle.

It's a model that works for generating profit by exploiting players with a gambling addiction. Some gacha games are better than others, but none of them are good *because* they're gacha. We haven't even seen any footage of the gameplay, or even any solid details about how it works at all, so it's way too early to be calling it a banger.
