Honestly, until I got on the internet, I would never have considered Renamon a waifu mon. From where I'm standing, this is 100% inspired by the fanart (either that or those old fanartists got jobs at Bandai). I think it's funny they're leaning into it though.

I really hate being a Renamon fan. She’s one of my favorite digimon(and her Tamers line) but not because of her being anthropomorphic. I like the overall design of her and her evolutions. Taomon! Come on!

Same! I watched and love renamon and her evolution line. Especially in games like cyber sleuth. They might be a bit lower damage, but I will always have a sakuyamon in my team. Their effect is plenty for me!

They were also my favorite digimon in world 3

I'm a Guilmon lover but kid me loved how they leaned hard into the taoist martial artist aspects Taomon and Sakuyamon are cool and AMAZING in the games but there's too much thirst about Renamon

Oh hey, similar case here.
Personally, my first experience with tamer was comics, so no voice to make Renamon seem one gender or another, and the comics never went beyond the crew barely getting to digital world so no form beyond taomon which frankly does look sufficiently androgynous.
Thus I always just saw Renamon as a "cool guy" Tm.

Never read digimon comics or played games back then. It just had this very male voice in the anime, so I never questioned it. 😅 then a while ago I read a post here where was mentioned that it is more female in most other languages.

In this case it's because the German dub of digimon used a male voice for renamon.

And by the way Renamon isn't as flat chested as some people think since the Megahouse GEM figurine, which is an official product, does show that Renamon has breasts only they are mostly obscured by the chest fur.
So yeah, Renamon having breasts is canon.

Can confirm, renaboobs are canon. (Or at least are among the "list of things that can manifest when you move off the fur." Since strictly speaking only the most outermost surfaces "exist" for digimon and anything underneath just gets generated on the spot when revealed)
