Honestly I think it's Ninya, the Girl from the Swords of Darkness. Not because a special Bonding during lifetime, but her diary gave him excellent knowledge about the new World. That's also why Tuareninya is important to him and under his own protection, as she's Ninya's older sister!

Well if you've just seen the Anime you'll hardly know, but even if reading the LN it's actually not a big Plot point. Still it's like a base for his actions. Ah, I just love the multiple layers Overlord has! ❤️

Yeah I have not watch it in a while though lol I would maybe rewatch it when season 5 come out Aka rewatch s1 to s4 and hope the dub for s5 be done by then lol

yeah, ninya gets mentioned even in other volumes as well, like with the dragon mountains

That was more gratitude than respect. He could care less about Ninya as a person but was glad for the info she unintentionally provided with her diary.

Didn't respect her enough to resurrect her though. But I guess the only one he even offered that to was Gazef.

She would likely be too weak and be incinerated. Any higher tier magic would be far too costly to waste. Better to let her rest.

I think high tier magic would have an easier time resurrecting weak people, unlike the lower tier resurrection magic they use in the new world the higher tier has no downside for the ressurectee. It’s just not cost effective, she was at most level 10-15 and it’s just not efficient to resurrect a person at that level when you can find dozens of them in each guild, especially when she has nothing new to offer since she’s a spellcaster. If she knew martial arts that’s at least a new thing to study but ainz knows all about tier magic already.

She’s a Silver ranked adventurer, and she can cast 2nd tier magic, she’s level 8 at a minimum because of that, and lower tier resurrection magic removes 5 levels. She would not be incinerated.

I think he respected Zanac more by the end of the conversation but viewed Gazef more as like a oddity to be collected or something special to collect like a treasure. Seeing Zanac as a ruler and equal, I think was the turning point.

Pretty sure he respected Gazef for who he was as a person too. >Gazef had taken off his armor and carried no weapons with him. He was bruised all over and half his face was swollen up, like a strange-looking, misshapen ball. Yet, a fire burned within his eyes. Ainz turned away, as though he had seen something brilliant. His eyes reflexively went to the ring Gazef wore on his left ring finger. *So he was married. It’s probably good that his wife won’t need to shed tears for him.* Vol 1.

It's debatable, but if Ainz-sama finds out Zannac actually came to understand him as a person from just one conversation, he would definitely respect Zannac more than anyone.

Zanac. Ainz lost a fair bit of respect for Gazef when he turned down Ainz's offer, whereas Zanac would have done anything to save his people.

I doubt thats true. In the end, Gazef did save his people (by challenging Ainz, stopping the goats), even without losing his dignity and betraying the kingdom and king he loves and fought so long for. I really dont see how Ainz would lose any respect for him there. That said, its a tough question. I think Ainz respected both equally much, but for different reasons. Gazef for always giving his all for the kingdom and his duty since the moment he met him, and Zanac maybe for showing him what true royalty is, and, even though there is no info if Ainz knew Zanac before his character development, i can definitely see Ainz respecting him a lot for the person he has become in the end, facing an enemy much bigger, stronger, and still trying to negotiate one more time, and trying to understand why Ainz even does all this in the first place. And after Zanac realizes there is nothing he can do, he does not try to desperately save his own skin or anything, but comes to terms with what fate awaits him and his people

Gazef was more of Ainz respecting him and his honour as a warrior rather than just plain ol' respect. It's why Ainz cast True Death to prevent resurrection, which Gazef did not want. Zanac was more of a comradery between fellow leaders just doing their best. He was the first (and perhaps even the last) person that Ainz had an honest conversation with. He applauded Zanacs mettle as a leader, having met face to face with the one capable of eradicating them with ease and still standing upright with naught but his people and kingdom on his mind. Ainz respected Zanac for his capabilities and bravery as a leader and Ainz respected Gazef for his honour and resolute/steadfast will as a true warrior. To say he respected one more than the other would be a lie, as Ainz respected them for entirely different things and likely saw them as equals, in some way, shape, and/or form. This is just my opinion though

Definitely zanac. Ainz liked gazef but as soon as he decided to die instead of spare the kingdom, Ainz just saw him as honorable but stupid
