as a gacha player, i think no game is better by being a gacha there is no game that i have played that made me think, maybe gacha here would be nice there is also no gacha game that i have ever played that just wouldnt be flat out better if the gacha system wasnt a thing gacha is just a predatory system where whales are the priority and the low spenders/f2p are neglected most of the time, with the options being either save for literal months for a specific character or swipe a gacha game literally lives off of people's gambling addiction

True that. If a game is good it will survive. Gacha or not. Gacha only kills the game if the main game is p2w heavy and its impossible to win being f2p. If f2p players can enjoy the game with grinding, the game will have longevity.

Only possible counterexample, and that's definitely debatable, is Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Your extra Blades being partially random and partly static is fun, giving some of the intrigue of Rogue-Like style games with their random upgrades. I find it fun, but I know it frustrated many and it's definitely not great that you could buy the cores with IRL money; that bit was kinda gross imo. I feel like a purely internal gacha system that isn't externally monetized can be fun in certain situations, but generally agree that almost every case is just greedy manipulation.

They could've just release a game with with the qol of Digimon vpets onto a game with cross save so you can play on all platforms, and make an online battle or raids. Like you raise digimon, battle others or raid strong digimon with a party

Just depends on how generous they are about it. If they’re super stingy and it takes a long time or a lot of cash to get the things you want, then yeah, that’ll kill the game. Anyone judging anything off of zero information at all is just hating to hate.

It's a shame gacha is so popular in asian countries and that it bled into the west I think it's one of the most predatory things in the gaming industry and it takes away from a game just existing without it and actually being good I'd rather pay something small for a mobile game like 2,3,4 at most 5 Dollar or Euros and then have a game to play until end of service

I have played all the digimon phone apps, except the card game. Gotchas done right can work, but Bandai never does it right. Power creep always brutally hurts gotchas. The best shot digimon had was digimon rearise, and it failed in the end. Honestly, gotchas are for waifu/husbandu games, its not good for this type of game. I plan to play but i do not expect it to last 3-4 years.
カードゲー以外のデジモン携帯アプリは全部プレイしたよ。ガチャが上手く機能する例はあるけど、バンダイは絶対にやらない。パワークリープ（新キャラ強すぎ問題）がいつもガチャをボロボロにする。デジモンで一番成功の可能性があったのはデジモンリアライズだけど、結局失敗した。 正直、ガチャは嫁/旦那ゲー向けのもので、デジモンには合わない。+6

Considering that digimon is usually made for PVP, which was confirmed that Digimon Up will have along with PVE — gacha will quickly kill the game. I don't want to pull or summon better digimon or cards just to win, I want to win based on how good I raised them.

As an ex-addict, it killed the game for me the moment it was revealed to be a gacha. I ain't taking the risk of relapsing. Damn shame too, I was looking forward to having a new Digimon game.
