Think you’re ignoring a large part of his characterization yourself. His value system is pretty much whatever is closest to his old guild, which in the new world, mostly equates to whatever benefits Nazarick. But he’s still interested in players, and makes a number of decisions with the main goal of attracting them. People being familiar with MMOs would align far more closely with his in-group than new worlders. Sure, if you’re going around spouting guild secrets with an unknown power level he’s going to be suspicious as hell. If you come across as a somewhat new player who loved Yggdrasil though, there’s a solid chance he’d use the opportunity to relive the MMO experience of helping out the newbie. He’s got a lot of traits and past experiences that indicate it’s very likely he’d be happy for it (loves to talk about his passions, was helped out as a new player himself). Would agree with you that some people talking about befriending Ainz likely misunderstand the characterization. The weird ways people think about Goku is a good comparison. But tbh, feels like you’re not giving the MMO inspiration of the series the respect it deserves. Like, only anime off the top of my head that stays as true to the MMO experience is Log Horizon. Overlord does an excellent job feeling like it’s written by someone who’s actually sunk a lot of hours into that sort of game. (Though a futuristic one with much more technology.)

The first two times he hit Nolan this week went like this. 1st: Knocked him from orbit so hard he hit the ground like a meteor. 2nd: Uppercut Nolan so hard from the ground that he not only reached back to orbit but hit escape velocity. Invincible is not a compatible power scaling comparison for Overlord. However, if Grasp Heart works, then it works. That move is ridiculously OP. Would whatever level Thragg corresponds to be able to resist? That's about the only shot.

pretty well. anything from yggdrassil like beings or items don't register the same as the ones in the new world. in that I don't think thragg could take a bone from ainz and keep it, but instead take a bone from ainz and it'd turn to nothing and ainz would feel it as damage. ainz/momonga/satoru a level 100 mage was shaking up the ground when he was pissed off when he made a mistake just kicking stuff. I'd imagine a mf that focused on warrior/fighter/barbarian classes would be erasing mountains with their punches and that doesnt even include their items and magic items, where the flavor text is treated as literal. I imagine by the time ainz has triggered a time stop, thragg already has his hands on ainz' neck about to squeeze, just a matter of grasp heart. as with how overlord and invincible is written information in fights is key.
