Sanji wouldn’t hit Imu if he was a woman so we can refer to Imu as “he”, right? I hear people still refer to Imu as “they” and it’s weird that we’re still on that Edit: I always thought Imu was a male and don’t care for identity politics. I just wanted there to be some established, concrete evidence that Imu’s a male so people can stop calling him “they”.

Morley might be a stretch, but I could see Magne for similar reasons I've seen expressed about Yamato expressing he's a guy by some trans mascs. Not everyone passes right away. Not everyone goes beyond social transition. I don't recall if we're told how reecently Magne started transitioning. Maybe she's only started relatively recvently to those she's trusted. Maybe she can't medically transition with the whole being a criminal thing.

I'd say it does. Like, unless Imu is an okama/newkama, we've never seen full-frontal completely-exposed breasts in the entire series. Even the extremely rare flat-chested women (Otohime and....honestly drawing a blank here) have never had their chests exposed.

With all the Kanji for Saint (if I remember correctly) used for Imu being the ones used for men and not women, in addition to the title of King, instead of Queen, indicates it already. The only reason some people still cope for Imu being a woman is that this might not be the real body. And the chances for this scenario are nigh if you ask me.

Even with a confirmed gender, "they" is still a grammatically correct pronoun. "They" can be used generically for anyone, whether their gender is known or not, so your hang up is stupid in the first place.
